This last time was horrible , the Plummer barely looked at the area that I was having a problem with and sent a false report back to the warranty company which caused them to deny my claim. Found Center Guard Plumbing through Bradford White website; one of just a few firms in the Chicagoland area listed as approved installers of BW water heaters. Brandon & Josh did a great job; were punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, and informative. The install looked perfect and they explained what they did and why, cleaned up afterwards, and only asked for payment after we were completely satisfied. Even our dog was happy to see them! Customer Service and technicians with customer service. A technician came to my house whom was referred by nicor solutions. I explained to nicor what I needed. Nicor sent them out. The technician indicated that the garbage disposal needed to be removed because the pipes were corroded and that it would be 395.00 I contacted nicor and relayed the message that the technician told me regarding the 395.00. Nicor Solutions service rep person told me there should not and would not be a charge and that they were going to reschedule the technician told come back out to remove the garbage disposal. When he came back out he removed the garbage disposal and demanded that he be paid 395.00. When told there was not supposed to be a charge and I needed to get nicor back on the telephone. While I was getting nicor solutions back on telephone he proceeded to cut the pipes and took the garbage disposal and the pipes that were connected to the sink and said he had other clients and didn't have time to wait and then he left with my garbage disposal and pipes that he had cut from under the sink. When I call Center guard and ask for a supervisor I told the supervisor that nicor solutions was sending another ticket to resolve the problem the supervisor told me that the they service representative that I spoke to at nicor solutions didn't know what they were talking about and the charge still stood. So no I would not recommend this company to pick up dog dodo out my yard. Even after nicor indicated they would incur the charge the supervisor still insisted that I needed to pay the 395.00. Ps. The screws on my toilet kept spinning and wouldn't tighten. I'm a retired 70 year old and CenterGuard was sent out. (via Nicor Home Solutions). It was the worst experience that I ever had. They came to the door with no tools in hand. Which was a bad sign. That only got worse. The guy seemed agitated about me wanting the screws tighten and never bothered inspect the problem at all. Stating they don't do that bc we had the floor recently installed. So he left. The good news is my wife is retired, in her sixties. So we both got on our knees, and she held the bolt while I tightened the nut. And it worked. CenterGuard was of no help! read more

Stay away from this company- don't let them in your house. I was assigned Center Guard to fix my water heater through Choice Home Warranty. Logan and another person arrived just by the end of given time slot. First thing they asked was to pay $65 before even looking at the system. He diagnosed TRD was bad and needs replacement, however he asked another $125 out of pocket so he can vacuum inside before installing new part. I told them it's all covered under warranty service and wanted to check with CHW before paying him out of pocket. While i tried calling CHW, he started packing even without fixing. Since it was my 6th day without a working system, i did want to get it fixed, I agreed to paying additional $125 and asked him to get it done, while he is here. He said he needs me to pay upfront even before he starts work. I told him i can only pay when i see system is working as expected. He refused to do the job without getting this mischievous up-charge. This clearly tells how big fraudster this company is. I read all bad reviews after this incident, had i known i would not have let them in. read more

He was a jerk and he made a leakage in my shower and now the water is leaking from the shower. We have been using Center Guard Plumbing for many years and have never been disappointed. They arrive within the specified 2 hr. time window. Our latest experience was replacement of toilet shut off valve. Kevin identified need to replace main water shut off valve also. Explained process of having to coordinate with village to shut off water to house. We were easily able to coordinate Center Guard to come at specified time. Ryan replaced both shut offs very quickly. If I could give this plumbing company a 0 I would. The ladies on the phone are rude and absolutely horrible. They have absolutely 0 customer service skills. Even one of their plumbers agrees that they are awful women. When I asked to speak to someone in charge they assured me they could help, however they did nothing. We got a new hot water heater through them and the plumber informed me that we shouldn't have the hot water heater in the divot where it was when we bought the house because if water gets in there, it will void the warranty on it, never suggesting a fix or even putting it on bricks, he put the new hot water heater right back where the old one was and left the bottom of the rusty one on our basement floor. When I told the ladies at the front seat I expected them to come out and fix it, her response was "we will have to charge you for that." You have to charge me for a mess up YOUR plumber did? When it comes to filling out paperwork, they're horrible and take weeks to get back to you. When I asked to speak with Chris, who is the person in charge, you are always told he's on the phone, and when I stated I expected a call back this morning, I was hung up on. Do NOT use center guard. The tech told me I could pay an additional $75 and have it done today, or I could wait for the part to ship, and they would come back out. Center Guard was sent out to replace a 1-1/4 H.P. garbage disposal through Home Warranty of America. Center Guard only had 3/4 H.P. disposals. I told them I would contact H.W.A. for a credit or discount for the lesser H.P. Motor. H.W.A. agreed to provide a 1-1/4 H.P. motor and paid Center Guard and additional $50.00. Center Guard came back to do the installation but installed a 3/4 H.P. disposal, scratched off the H.P. portion of the tag on the disposal, and pocketed the $50.00 from H.M.A. Unfortunately, my brother signed off on the install as he is disabled and was available to meet Center Guard at my home during a weekday. So, Center Guard screwed me and H.W.A. Do not have these shysters touch your plumbing. read more

i have signed up with pivotal home solution in oct. 2024 for the sewer and water line package, was approved within 30 days as stated. i filed a claim in nov. 2024 . they sent out a company called center guard plumbing came out provided the rodding of the sewer line. called them 2 weeks later same issue. did the rodding again. called them again same issue did the rodding again. 2 weeks later same issue same company came out and rodded the sewer line. found out the the sewer was broken in my crawl space. which i had to pay $1340.00 center guard plumbing and pivotal stated i was not covered , which is false this is part of the warranty i pay for, i had to complain with them to get them to pay for it. which they did pay $500 of it. 2 weeks later main sewer line backed up again. they rodded it again. i received a phone from pivotal stated they will deny all future claims unless i install a cleanout outside, which i have ( see picture) i have one already in my garage. center guard has informed pivotal this has been deemed limited access because it is in the garage. this a breach of contract stay away from both companies center guard and pivotal they are unethical and do not provide the service that i pay for. read more

I been paying for home Maintence since 2001 if you at up the money that I spent Vs the service received it not worth it. So sad I have to fight for my water heater to be install for free. These guys crooks, I received a call from them today to repair my gas boiler through my Warranty company, in my contract with the warranty company I am suppose to pay $65.00 my deductible and the rest will be paid through the warranty company. this company rep was very rude and tried to add a cleaning fee for $125.00 , when I told him I am not paying it. he told me to find another company. I call my warranty company and told them the story, they told me they will assign my claim to another repair company and no additional fees required except my deductible ($65). read more
