    Floor closed can cleaned.

IL Sewer and Drain successfully addressed each segment of what was initially a relatively simple task of removing and replacing a 1953 basement toilet and sink. The sewer drains under the basement's concrete floor then decided to back up onto the basement floor through any opening the substance could find. YUCK! Of course this event happened within three weeks of closing on the sale of my home. IL Sewer and Drain immediately came to the rescue. The project was assessed and completed within a few days. This job included the breaking up of the concrete floor, removing old clay pipes, re-routing and installing new PVC pipes, closing up the floor, and reinstalling the toilet. IL Sewer and Drain left that area of the floor as spotless as an unfinished basement concrete floor could be.

How the pipping looked before they worked on it.

I had a terrible experience with this company. They do not care about the customer or your issue! They just want to make a quick buck. Water was backing up from the drains in my water heater and washer/dryer closets (they're adjacent rooms) in my rental unit. My tenants called them in on Wednesday 10/18 and Darrin was the plumber who serviced the call. I arrived to meet him to talk about the situation. This is a garden unit and I explained to him all pipes in the unit (including the water heater and washer/dryer pipes/lines) all lead to an ejector pit in the hallway closet. He rodded the drain from the water heater to the pit because it was obvious there was a clog there. I asked him to also rod the drain pipe from the washer/dryer but he was hesitant. He said it didn't need to be rodded. I just wanted to make sure all of those lines were clear. I had to leave and my tenant was working with him at that point. I asked my tenant to make sure the washer/dryer drain was rodded and to send pictures. They told him to do so but I never received pictures so I can't be certain that was done. After he completed the rodding, we spoke on the phone. He recommended that he redo the pipping for $500 in the ejector pit closet where the ejector was located. He said that could be the cause of the clog. He said the pump was not properly pumping out all the water and over time tissue was accumulating in the pipes that caused the blockage. Sounds farfetched but I guess it could happen. I'm not a pro plumber. He said if he re-pipe the ejector pipes it would prevent that clog from reoccurring again because the pump would run more efficiently or something like that. So I agreed (which in hindsight was a huge mistake) and scheduled to have him come back the following day. Darrin came back the next day, Thursday (10/19) afternoon. This is when everything went downhill. I wasn't unavailable so my wife went to meet him. It started off fine, my wife was in and out of the unit as she was helping out another tenant. He completed the re-pipping job but then a new issue popped up. The ejector pump wasn't pumping out the water. By this time, I was able to head over to see what was going on. He told me he completed the re-piping and was testing everything out but didn't know why the pump wasn't pumping out the water. He said either the pump went bad or the line from the pump to the sewer was clogged. I questioned how it could have just gone bad since he was just working on it, and he got really defensive. At this point, you could tell he didn't really care. He just wanted to get out of there because he finished his "re-piping job". I asked him if maybe he should rod the line going out to the sewer to see if that was the issue, but he refused. Then he tried to scare me by saying it might be a bigger issue if there's a clog in the line and we'll need to knock down a wall. He also said he could put in a new pump, but it would cost another $600-$800. I told him that the pump is only a year old and under warranty, and he said go call the plumber who put it in it has nothing to do with him. I paid Darrin his $500 and he just left. I was still stuck with the problem of backup water in the pit. So, I had to call in another plumber. When he got there, he questioned why the re-piping was done that way and we all talked to Darrin on the phone and again he was super defensive. As soon as the plumber heard the pump turning on he knew there was no issue with the pump (why didn't Darrin know that?). Eventually, the new plumber rodded the sewer line from the pump and that resolved the issue. He even, reverted Darrin's re-piping "work" as that was unnecessary. The main issue is that Darrin really doesn't care at all about helping the customer. He's just trying to make as much money off you as possible. I probably didn't even need the re-piping work that he sold me for $500. It's been that way for over 10 years without any issues. After he worked on it, it looked worse than (more 90-degree turns) before. The re-piping wasn't that much of a difference either. Complete rip-off. See the attached pictures. The other thing is, when he was testing out the system that's when the sewer line got clogged and I think he knew it too, but he just didn't want to take responsibility for it and wanted to leave as quickly as possible. I will never work with this company ever again. Save yourself a headache and some money, AVOID this company!

I can't believe these guys are that good! Very professional and clean company who came to my house and did my sewer line repair work. They were very honest and told me exactly what needed to be done. Both owners Joe and Matt were there and helped out with everything from beginning to end. If you're looking for a company for any sewer or drain issues, look no further this is the best company to go with.

My local plumber referred me to Joe after realizing the issue was more serious than expected.
