My husband and I went to the tavern today for dinner. He had been there several times, but it was my first visit. So disappointing. The atmosphere was upbeat, and I liked the wooden beams and old feel. The first 2 things we wanted to order they didn't have. We ordered shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, I ordered smothered chicken and my husband ordered the ribeye - medium. Our shrimp cocktail never came and when the waitress brought our meals we told her to just cancel the appetizer (since it didn't come anyway). No apologies , not a blink of an eye, just said okay and walked away. His steak was well done not medium, and dry to boot. When she finally came to check on us, he politely told her that she could take it back as it was not what he ordered, again no apologies. Of course when she brought our check which they did comp for a large percentage of the steak, she then apologized for his meal, I feel at that time because she was trying to save her chance of a good tip. To me food is half of the food experience , service is the other half. They dropped the ball on both counts today. Oh and the front door constantly was left open when customers came or went and due to that we had 2 flys that bothered it the whole meal. read more

Cool place. Good food. I usually come for dinner and everyone that I've taken here has enjoyed it. My fav is their Fish & Chips - Yum! I need to try more of their menu but I just keep ordering the Fish & Chips. They have a pretty big menu with a lot of good options. The place is usually lively. Nice, fun atmosphere. Service is good & friendly. They have a patio but I always eat inside. I never have a problem finding parking nearby. I believe they have live music on Friday & Saturday nights but I haven't been to that yet. read more

Cool little local, neighborhood watering hole featuring live music and a nice little patio. I enjoy the atmosphere of this place. Big open room with a small L shaped bar to the right upon arrival. There is no stage but the music is kind of in the center of the room and easily enjoyed from every angle of the restaurant. Plenty of local Georgia beers on tap which I love! The food in my opinion has just been ok. I've had wings as well as the Ruben. Ruben was a little skimpy on the meat but otherwise had a great flavor. I've seen burgers come out of the kitchen and they look fantastic! I will absolutely be trying one of them. Service is hit or miss. The bartenders are kind of slow but the wait staff is always very friendly. This isn't a place I would say drive out of your way for but would definitely visit if in the area. read more

PROS: Great location in downtown Acworth. Easy free parking. Staff very warm and welcoming. Fantastic server. Good menu selection from corned beef, fish & chips to burgers. We did not order alcohol. Very dark and "pubby" CONS: Dinnertime it was VERY noisy, had to almost yell to the people I was with to be heard. We ordered burgers (Swiss, onion and mushroom and the special that was a smash burger with garlic aioli). VERY dry and over cooked. Meat tasted grainy and my burger tasted like the meat had been in the fridge too long. Fries were very good. I would give this place a second chance, but not for burgers. Waitresses are polite and nice restaurant is clean you're welcoming everybody so upbeat and nice very attentive they have two sets of restrooms and they are very clean air conditioning, nice and cool not too cold but too hot just right lol the food is fast and ready and hot. This is your typical local pub/tavern. It's good for couples, families, friends, whoever really. Some great drink selections. Cocktails and beer/wine. I got the fish and chips and was a little disappointed. The fries were good, but the breading on the fish itself was pretty hard. I feel like fish and chips are either a hit or a miss and this was a miss for me. If I come back again I will get something else. Our waitress was the sweetest and very attentive. She was so friendly and interacted with my baby granddaughter. This was my second visit, although I forgot to do a review the first time. Downtown Acworth has a nice little shop scene, and located right near the Acworth Parks & Rec Center. This place sits way behind everything, and can be easy to miss. We stopped in bc my gf's daughter recommended it, and I'm always in for trying something new. I'm not typically a big Tavern guy but really loved the town feel of this one. Walking in, the bar is to the right and seating areas to the left. There's a big open space in the middle (which seems semi-awkward). We ended up in their back room, which has a mini bar, darts, a cornhole wall game and screens. I liked the high tops table and being away from everyone. We ended up having two different servers, due to shift change, so we were pretty well taken care of. We started with the mozzarella wedges and fried Gouda Mac n cheese bites. Wasn't a fan of the wedges but the Gouda bites were really good! They had some decent draft beers, although not too broad on selection. The moohoo stout was a pretty good option and would recommend. For my meal, ordered the fish & chips. It came with fries and coleslaw. They brought malt vinegar, which was needed. The fries were decent, coleslaw was eh and the fish was okay. Overall, I'd rank this place as A-Ok. It'll have all the typical tavern food you want plus the tavern atmosphere. Nothing surprising here but nothing below expectations. read more

Good place. The interior is neatly decorated, and they change it up frequently for the season. Good atmosphere. The menu is pretty good. It's not fantastic, but they have numerous signature dishes. The corn chowder is a good soup; the French dip, southwest burger, buffalo burger, and Santa Fe chicken are all good. I usually get the sweet potato fries, and they're tasty. The service is good. Every time I've been there, our server has checked on us a few times, though my drink has gone empty a few times (in fairness, I drink a lot). I've never been offered a to-go drink. There's not a lot of parking right by the tavern, but there are numerous other lots within easy walking distance. All in all, this is a good place. Not great, but good. I wouldn't go out of my way to check it out, but it's worth dropping in to if you're around and looking for a good spot to eat. read more

Sat at the bar. The beer was cold and cheap. Ordered a burger medium which I waited patiently for at least 30 min. It turned out to be a hockey puck...no exaggeration. I should have taken a photo. The bun was not really toasted. It had burn marks. It was supposed to have tomato but none could be found. I guess it's too much to expect for $14.29. Next! Service was fine. Great for a little bit of everything. I can go with my girls, I can go for a date night, I can bring in my toddlers. Staff is always great. I love the club and buffalo shrimp. We stopped in here for a quick bite and the service and food were both great! We ordered onion rings to start. They were a nice size, perfect batter to onion ratio, and crispy! I got the grilled buffalo shrimp and Caesar salad. The shrimp were a great size and not over cooked! I got the medium buffalo sauce and it was perfect as well. Perfect amount of spice for me. My mom got the tomato soup and grilled cheese. She said the tomato soup was just okay. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here. They had great options on the menu that made it hard to choose! This is a typical pub, the building is in a prime location, it has a distinct bar feel, which made me question the quality of its food. I was correct, typical bar food. I have to give some credit for the cooks, the did actually cook my burger medium, which is hard for most places.If you are drunk, then this food will probably be amazing! If you are not, you might be yearning for something more. If I was to enter this bar with my eyes closed I would have definitely thought we were in a club, the dingy smell coupled with the insanely loud music, let's just say, if you had a date but didn't want to talk to them, good place to go.
