I gave Centereach Hyundai a second chance and regret it. Several months ago, I brought my Hyundai Ioniq 5 in for service and my white seats were returned dirty. I complained and was told they were sorry and would take extra care of my vehicle in the future. When I recently returned for a tire rotation and wheel alignment, I specifically requested seat and floor protection because of that previous experience. At approximately 3:20 PM, I called to see if my vehicle was ready, since the service department was closing at 4:00 PM. I was told to head over. When I arrived, the vehicle was still on a lift with the wheels removed and was then moved to another lift for the alignment. The work was clearly not finished despite being told it was ready. I was then told the vehicle was being cleaned before delivery. When I got into the car, the seats were dirty again. The service advisor agreed and the vehicle was taken back for additional cleaning. When I got home, I found dirt on the driver's door sill, marks on the interior door panel, and shortly afterward received a tire-pressure warning. The TPMS showed tire pressures ranging from approximately 27 PSI to 43 PSI immediately after a tire rotation and alignment. The following morning, the service manager apologized and offered a car wash coupon. I declined because my vehicle has paint protection film, ceramic coating, and a ceramic-coated interior and is hand washed only. What bothers me most is that this happened after a prior complaint and after I specifically requested protective measures. This is a vehicle I purchased, not leased, and I expected much better care and attention to detail. While the staff members I spoke with were polite and apologetic, the overall experience left me with little confidence in the dealership's service department. Found a used car on Centereach Hyundai's website. Made an appointment. Didn't haggle at all. Delt with a nice young salesman Nicholas P.. You would assume that after agreeing to the price Centereach listed, the deal would be done. Not true, after agreeing to their listed price, here came the Used Car Sales Manager. (A very important and intimidating title) A sloppy looking guy, definitely a degenerate car salesman in a previous life. Hey, we've all met him. He comes over to me and says he can't sell the car for his own listed price. He said he needed 2000 dollars more. When I asked, why then you would put that price online, he had the balls to say, we do that to get customers in the door. When I said to him that seems a bit deceptive, he said, it is but that's how we do it to get you here. I told him the 2000 dollars above his asking price was unacceptable and I left. I can't say for sure that this this old shoe represents the entire Centereach family, but I will say this, stay away from the used car department. You will end up meeting Jerry the Used Car manager. A guy, who sits behind a computer with off the rack slacks, a cheap button up shirt and an attitude straight out of a low budget wise guy movie. Jerry, in an attempt to convince himself he's still relevant, will show up at the perfect time, to try to swindle potential customers out of their hard eared money. He probably gets away this more often than not, but not today. That guy is definitely someone ownership should consider putting out to pasture. read more

Here's the Scoop! Decided to check this dealership out because of a commercial. Howe ever upon getting there on the snowy and cold. The lot was flooded and we were able to test drive the Santa Fe but the Sonata Limited Electric car which was what we came to see was not available to test drive. We were short on time so we rescheduled to try again next week. I hope the weather will allow us to test drive the Sonata. Service was very good. Got a call from Chris, internet sales. Very personable we talked and laughed. He originally called about the sale my wifes Santa Fe . I told him I was selling it privately and we already put a deposit on a Tucson limited, his response was very nice Good luck. I then asked if he had any Tucson limiteds in stock around the same price. He responded let me look. After checking inventory he came back with two cars, one that had the same amount of mileage a year older and the other same year that had 13,000 on it approximately. I asked him the price he said 24900 and asked if I would be interested in coming down and taking a look. I said absolutely. I'm only 20 minutes away and I'm coming. I got there and I was introduced to the salesperson that would be handling me, her name was Brianna. I explained to her that I already picked out a car and put down a deposit but Chris had told me about a car that was going to be available and I told her the price and she responded "oh no" that car is $26,900. I said well I really didn't want to spend $2,000 more. She immediately responded. There are a lot of prices on a lot of different cars and this one was $26,900 after a long story back and forth I told her I would like to see the car. She then responded saying that the car may have already been sold , And went on to say that this is a very low mileage car. I didn't like her attitude, or the way she was speaking. In addition, the $2,000 didn't scare me because I was going to buy my wife a $43,000 Genesis that she didn't like. But with the attitude I was already turned off. I was Global sales manager for my last company and if one of my sales people would have been reported to have the attitude that I received, I would have fired them. After her looking around for nearly 20 minutes I was wa told it was locked in the shop and it couldn't be seen until Monday. I said well it wasn't meant to be and said goodbye. My parents (aged 81 and 83) were taken advantage of by Scott the salesman and John the finance guy. It's the old story of my parents going there just "to look" and ending up spending the whole day there until they were so exhausted they just signed their life away. When I reviewed their paperwork after they got home, I saw that not only did John "slip in" the useless extended warranty (almost $5,000!!!), but locked them in for $533 monthly payments! Folks, my parents got $7,000 trade in and put down $7,500 in cash on a 33,000 car. Make it make sense!! I went back today to have them cancel the service contract (I read the fine print, and my parents had 30 days to cancel), which would hopefully lower their payments. Well of course, my dad recognizes the salesman and he doesn't wanna talk to us at first (we all know they are falling all over you before you buy, but don't wanna know you if you come in with a problem), then says we gotta see the finance guy, John. We get shown to John's office and it's like someone dumped an entire bottle of cologne in there, ughhh. I tell John that my parents don't need the extended service contract and that I didn't appreciate him taking advantage of my elderly parents. He starts raising his voice saying that they knew exactly what they were signing, and told him they wanted it. Then he agrees to cancel it, but says the rate will then go up from 5.8 to 9.8!!! Raising their payments from $533 to $723!!! Wtf? I told him look for other financing, lower rates. He says this is the best they are going to get. And that he doesn't HAVE TO do this for them, but if it will make them happy to cancel it... No John, raising their payments to $723/month will NOT make them happy, idiot. I told my dad, let's get out of here, that he's not going to help us. And he stands up and says "I'll cancel it, if that's what they want!" Like he's doing us some big fat favor. My Daughter went down with my Dad to get a decent car they sold her a 2019 hyundai tucson I live in SC and she lives in Boston first month two flat tires a hassel to get them to reimburse the work at her local dealer along with 5-6 minor issues 6 months later the catalytic convertor went then barely 2 weeks later the engine blew. The service at the dealership up in Boston was excellent they were able to replace both under hyundai;s warrantythen two weeks later it needed brakes and the secondary catalytic convertor. When I contacted the centereach Hyundai to express my frustration with this car I found out that that was the third engine replacement Only had 60k on it when purchased. I wanted them to take it back and get something else. The manager informed me that after purchasing the car for 16k mind you it now only has 75k miles (she only put 15k on it ) they were trying to tell me the book value was 7000. dont know how a car can depreciate by 50% in 6n months. we are contacting the bbb and a lawyer for now!!!!!!!! drive past that dealership and keep going read more

First I had to drop off my car with no courtsy ride home. Was told it was not under warranty, which I knew it was. Then first it was the cluth had to be replaced. Then it was the transmission. I waited another week and a half, them I needed to get it back as I only have one car and have to work. I finally called back and found out the part was in, but they still had no loaner for me. Finally I had to drop it off and get the work done. I was charged the deductible and for the alignments. Honestly they all should've been comped I never got a loaner in a month and a half? BUYER BEWARE: I've dealt with multiple dealerships over the years. Centereach Hyundai is by far the worst experience I've ever had. The salesman was nice, but was completely preoccupied with making his monthly quota, and let me know he needed my sale to come in at the end of last month so he could make his "number". I had a personal issue and couldn't pick up my new car until Saturday. This was not acceptable to him because Saturday was in the new month. He did however offer to pay my last months payment on an SUV I was handing in, as long as I got the insurance binder before the end of the month, to meet his quota. I complied and got it done. I picked up my car on Saturday morning, and had major problems. The finance person ran my credit twice before realizing that the car was going to be in my wife's name. We are both Tier 1, but I wanted my wife to establish more credit. Upon meeting the finance person, I explained I wanted the hard inquiries removed from my credit report. They said they were going to write a letter to get it removed. They never did it. I was also told by finance to stop the auto payment on my previous lease because the dealership was going to cut a check, as per our verbal agreement. I gave finance the account information to have it paid. The dealership sent out a check through the mail five days later. As of today, it still has not been paid. I called finance and told them that I would pay the last payment because I'm already five business days late. I don't want to take a credit hit because somebody is too lazy to do their job. I asked for a check to be wrote out directly to me and I'll pick it up. The bottom line is, Centereach Hyundai DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. They only care about meeting their sales numbers and quotas. I, as a buyer, shouldn't be privy to sales practices and quotas. My husband was very upfront and told her we came to check without compromise. Everything was great at first, she was pleasant, answering questions, and informing us about the new 2024 models. Once she brought out the numbers my husband calculated everything and felt like he rather stay with our current car as we had gotten a very good deal on a 2021 Tucson. Dania tried to convince us but my husband respectfully declined, that's when her demeanor completely changed and she gave us an attitude. This review is about the service center but I'm sure the sales experience will vary greatly. My sales person honestly wasn't too bad and didn't present any dishonest or snakey business tactics but he also skipped town out of this place shortly after I made a purchase. Service center has done it's best job to make sure I never do business here again. It's not even the 'stealership' tactics for me (yes, they do those... bogus 'recommended services', 'fuel injection cleanings', 'battery recharges', 'windshield wiper replacements' (for $90), etc.) but the fact that this brand has world class engineers but with actual apes picking their noses in the dealerships/service area. It's a revolving door of advisors and mechanics and most of them range as inept to 0 customer service skills. Even if you only lease a vehicle for 3 years you most likely wont have the same service advisor twice. You'll end up waiting with other disgruntled customers in a sterile waiting area (it's basically the sales person lounge) who will voice their frustrations for simple services like NY state inspections / oil changes that will take 3-4 hours for whatever reason - "I scheduled an appointment for no reason, right?". Forget about needing an actual emergency repair or part... you'll be having to do your own detective updates by calling the receptionist and getting left on hold for 30-40 minutes and then told "no updates". Loaner/courtesy vehicles are myths as the other reviews have said. The hilarious part is you can try asking for one and the advisors will literally admit they don't have a 'set schedule' on when the vehicles come in or leave the dealership... what lol! Sounds organized. Hate to even have to say this in the year 2023 but if you are a female or non-knowledgeable about cars, get your grandpa, brother, pitbull or husband to sit in. The sharks love the smell of your blood in the water and you'll be paying for blinker fluid :). Once you question the need or validity of something they fold faster then a bad poker player. Multiple occasions I finally get my car returned and there's mud all over the interior and scuffs on the door pockets like someone used their boot to open the door, but remember we had to pay an extra fee for "covid protocols" which essentially is a thin piece of syran wrap halfway over your driver seat.
