Thought I needed a new tire because I had one going flat rather quickly after airing up. Spoke with the owner and even agreed to buy 2 tires if needed. They looked at all my tires and told me the tread and rubber looked solid on all of them and patched up my tire that had 2 screws in it and insisted on not charging me! I have nothing but good things to say about this business. They have been around forever and it's obviously because they know what they're doing and have great customer service skills (which goes a long way in today's society). Jonathan is kind on the phone and in his office. He is knowledgeable and was patient with my questions about needing new tires. The guys plugging tires in the back are gentle with your car and quick! I've had to use them for this many times and each time a different gentleman plugged the tire and they are still holding. Then they fill the rest of your tires to the appropriate matching pressure. $15 for a plug and I tip the guy who helps me. The only negative thing I'd mention is the driveway getting into the back of the building. It is only wide enough for one car so be careful going in and coming out, as the traffic goes both ways. Always great service if I'm getting new tires or fixing a flat they are always fast and friendly

Was visiting family on Long Island from the other side of the country and was dealing with a tire leaking air. After inspection, I noticed that the problem was not the tire, but a crack in the rim. On a Google search, I contacted Traction Plus as one of the closest shops that could handle the problem. After calling, they said that if I could get the tire to them by noon, they would have it repaired by the end of the day as they would have to send it out. Not only did they have the time back by the end of the day, they had the tire remounted, balanced, aired up and waiting. In the time it took me to pay the bill (a couple of minutes), they took my spare off, mounted the repaired tire, and secured the spare back underneath the car in its usual position. The repair was a very fair price (less than I had expected prior to calling). The crew working there was professional and friendly. I will absolutely go there again if I have any other issues when I am on the Island. Thanks a ton guys! read more

Excellent service at reasonable price. Had tires installed at traction plus and had a tire pressure sensor replaced at same time. These guys know what they are doing. They work like a machine with two guys removing tires, one guy balancing and two more guys reinstalling the tires. After the new tires were put back in the car, they checked that the air pressure was set properly and also torqued the wheels with a torque wrench. Just bought brand new tires for my car and I kept hearing a thumping noise. After visiting the location that installed those tires three times and kept getting turned away over and over again with them saying "it's normal", I decided to get a second opinion. Went to Traction Plus and Jonathan was amazing. He test drove my car and then figured out the issue within 10 minutes of looking at my tires. 3 out of 4 brand new tires had a bald spot which caused a dip in the middle of my tire, that's what was making the noise as I drove. The original shop couldn't figure that out in the 3+ hours I spent there asking them to look at it again but Jonathan figured it out in 10 minutes. This will be my new tire shop location!! Super happy I went here. Called ahead of time asked for an approximation to have a tire replaced. They didn't mind or give me a hard time that I got there within closing. When I paid they remembered me from my call which was first thing in the morning. They were very personable quick and inexpensive. The lobby is also family oriented despite being smaller. Great local tire business! Like others I've bought my tires online and had them shipped here for installation. They might charge a little bit more than the big chain stores but I decided to go with them because of the glowing reviews and didn't want to risk anything when it comes to the tires. Came here on a Tuesday morning and was in and out in about 30-35 minutes. Very through and meticulous work done by John and his crew. John was very friendly and courteous definitely the model definition of a great local business. Waiting area is a bit sparse but plenty of coffee shops and fast food areas nearby for you to wait while they work on the car. So for the automotive-lexic people out there like me Traction Plus will fill you in on any and everything that you'll need to know to equip your ride. They are super knowledgeable about every single detail and just the vibe from the very first phone call made me feel at ease and definitely weren't trying to take me for a ride (excuse the corny pun) My rear tires on my early model Benz was completely shot, bald, and needed to be fixed ASAP. I was desperately searching for a tire place on yelp and happened to find them. As soon as I called I spoke to Karen; super sweet lady btw (I'm assuming one of the owners) explained the situation and she provided with the many different makes and brands that they were able to put on my whip with all the different prices from lowest to highest with their ratings to boot. Her giving me options and not spewing out the most expensive brand to put on it, I could tell this was and honest place and have respect for their customers. What an awesome place to deal with. These guys are honest and so friendly and the prices are very fair. I came here with my 35" tires and 17" wheels for them to mount. They were super careful with my brand new wheels and tires and mounted them beautifully for me. They had to do a bunch of extra work by switching out my TPMS sensors from my old wheels to my new ones and they still kept the price super fair. They were really helpful loading all my tires back in my truck since they were way too heavy for me to even think about picking up. I will continue to use this place for all my future tire needs!
