BYOB. They have no alcohol or food on the menu. But you can bring. The owner is SO great. Very personable and helpful. The atmosphere is super casual and relaxed. Eclectic setting and really good music. After 8pm if gets filled up and music is a bit louder. The hookah is really good. I really wish they had food. Just bites like fries, falafel, chips, etc. I will def be back. The owner is amazing. He is attentive to every aspect of the place and customers.

This place has all the chill boho vibes. Apparently this place used to sell their decor pieces, but now there's only a handful of items you can purchase. The only reason why i didn't give this place the full 5 stars is because I wish they had more comfortable seating choices. Other than that, this place is my kinda hooka lounge read more

We randomly walked by and stopped in since all the cafes around were closed. ANNNNNND This place is awesome! So relaxing and cozy. Better than the the three hookah lounges that I've been to. And the decor (from Bali) makes one feel like they've left LA for a bit. We didn't smoke hookah. Instead we slipped in for an hour and had a pot of some YUMMY Persian Chai and a hella good off the menu dessert: Kanafeh (sp?). We were greeted and served by the delightful and gracious owner, Mina. Thank you for making our first time, spontaneous visit such a nice experience! Will be back for more tea, Kanafeh and hookah! read more

This place is unbelievably AMAZING!! It was my first time there and "Robin" was kind enough to recommend me a hookah/shisha flavor and I absolutely loved it. I have to say it was the best hookah experience I've had in California. The way Robin prepared it, the head, hose, tip, coal positioning....... unreal!! I'm not a shisha expert by any means but I know when I like something though, haha! I think it was Ambrosia/Lemon Mint/White Gummy? The atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxing plus the music tunes were on point!! Thank you so much for existing! I would not hesitate to make the drive from Anaheim every weekend just to visit your cafe. read more

Bait and switch tactic to charge higher prices. When we walked in, the waiter said it's $25 minimum charge. When we got the bill, he charged us $58 saying it's $25 per person. The calculations didn't even make sense as to how it added up to $58 as the hookah we got was $20 and the refill was $8. Couldn't dispute since we already did the Hookah, bait and switch. Also, their menu states clearly we get 15% discount for tagging them in Instagram post. They did not honor it as they said they need money because of Covid. Extremely unethical place charging fees and higher prices without telling the consumer. I asked why the menu prices are different, he said that the menus are old and not updated. Then why even give out the incorrect menus if the prices are wrong. Not coming back here again and I would hope others read this and see the unethical shady practices they have. I'm happy to support local business but not if they take advantage of the consumer. read more

Solid hookah lounge! The owner is often there working and is very accommodating to guests. Very knowledgable on hookah obviously and just a nice person in general. Parking is quite easy especially at night time on the streets, there's also a lot behind their business but I'm not sure if they can use all of the spots there. Decor is on point and there's a good amount of ventilation, but not so much where you can't do tricks. Would definitely recommend read more

This place is by far my favorite hookah spot in LA. Immediately walking in you can feel that they set the tone for good vibes. They have really dope decorations all over the place mixed in with neon signs and Buddha's. They have comfy furniture almost making it feel like your in somebody's house. Music was trendy which is always highly appreciated. The service was 5/5, our server Meno or Mino not sure how to spell his name but guy was honestly the best. He was on top of everything, he also recommended the best flavors to mix with mint which sold us. We really appreciated that he constantly checked up on us to make sure our hookahs were good as well as if we needed anything to drink. Thank you bro! The hookahs weren't not the best of best but they got the job done. With additional charges you can get ice cold hoses. Def going to do that the next time I come. Prices were very reasonable, we came on a Monday which was is "free refill Monday's" so that was nice. I think some buddies of mine will make this the regular spot. I was lucky Centerpiece was open late on a Saturday night during Labor Day weekend. It was beautiful that they stayed open later than posted hours so we could hang out. I forgot the gentlemen's name, but he gets two additional stars for good tea and solid hookah. Service is great! For that, I'll be back... and with more friends. Good times. read more

Different level of lounge. Perfect for relaxing. The decor inside is amazing, like a five star hotel. The owner Mina is young gentleman that is nice and friendly. I asked for a flavorful hookah and he recommended the lemon mist. And he was right! They have happy hour from 5-8 pm where the hookah is $15. This is definitely my new hangout place! read more

The service was just okay. At closing time, one of the staff members apologized for closing early, which I appreciated, but it didn't change my experience. Overall, I was not satisfied at all. It was the worst night.

I ordered my favorite item which is the chicken shawarma with fries. The wrap was a decent size and the flavor was pretty good but I would've preferred some garlic sauce or hummus for more flavoring. They should update their regular cut fries to steak fries which are usually better tasting with this meal, but the fries were not super hot.

There are many Persian and Mediterranean restaurants in Los Angeles that serve far better food for the same price or less. Unfortunately, this was one of the most underwhelming meals I've had in a long time, and I would not return.

It was also very unique in that I am not sure if I've had truffle guacamole anywhere else. For my entrée, I chose the Carne Asada Bowl and absolutely loved it. It's what I usually order here and would suggest to anyone. For dessert, we tried their Red Velvet Churros and loved them. They are extremely sweet and would be a bit too much for one person so I would suggest this to share. Every part of this meal is consistently good and I use it often for lunch. This restaurant is set in the Hauser and Wirth art Gallery complex and since we got there early we toured the front gallery with an incredible assist from a docent named Michael who pointed out the most incredible pieces and steered us to the gallery at the back of the complex behind Manuela's. Both galleries are worth exploring. However, back to Manuela's. Our very friendly server sat us on the large wraparound patio and after my explaining my celiac issues and getting some guidance on their incredible menu, we shared the following after my friend ordered a delicious Sangria while knowing as a lightweight and cheap date I would be having 6 cocktails later, I ordered the Ta Ta Tatiana- Watermelon, ginger, honey, lemon, mint, bitters: Cast iron cornbread, cultured butter, wildflower honey Kusshi oysters, Nantes carrot mignonette Arugula, emerald beauty plum, goat cheese, spiced pecans, aged balsamic Hokkaido scallops, brown butter-bacon vinaigrette, mustard greens The oysters came out first and had a delightful and unusual carrot mignonette. Small and not like Louisiana Gulf Oysters, they were fresh and delicious. Next came the Arugula salad that was tart and tasty as well as a generous portion. The cast iron cornbread was ridiculously so good I joked that I would just order two of them next time. This joint actually makes their cornbread without flour which is sadly rare for me so not only was this a gluten free treat, it was light and just melted in blissful corn flavor. Last came the scallops in a brown butter bacon vinaigrette with mustard greens that was so perfectly prepared these might be the best scallops I've ever eaten, which can sometimes be dicey. With the sauce they could have served blackened, sautéed asphalt and it would have tasted good. Well done to Manuela's all around.

My goodness. I am still thinking about them. The shrimp and grits were also perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. What made me laugh was that our group is usually very chatty. There was so much talking, catching up, and laughing. Then the food arrived and suddenly all you heard were forks and spoons hitting plates followed by a bunch of "mmm," "oh wow," and "girl! you've got to try this." That's when you know the food is doing its job. Our server was amazing and took such great care of us. Everything came out smoothly, and we never felt rushed. Between the beautiful setting, incredible food, and being surrounded by people I love, it was one of those afternoons I'll always remember. If I'd been told upfront that it was based on cancellations with no guarantee, I would have made other plans. Instead, I wasted my entire evening waiting on a promise that was apparently never made. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional -- I won't be back.

The meal was largely a success .. a couple of misses that coulda brought me down.. but the highs were so high.. they made up for the missteps. Service. Hostess was super friendly and welcoming. Somethings they can be not so much.. but she was just lovely The actual service was friendly. But like some other reviewers said.. maybe they were a bit over whelmed. I'd label the service and friendly functional. The waiter said we ordered the perfect amount of food. I'd say we ordered 1 too many items. Scallop crudo: a lovely starter. It came really quick after ordering. We were sitting at the cold bar so could see these getting prepped. Drizzled with ground pistachio and a citrus oil. Simple. But delicious. Over priced a bit at $23. Maybe. It was delicious. Who cares Peaches and farmers cheese. Wow o wow did this dish sing. It was just light and lovely. Just the way I love to eat THE cornbread. Could it live up to the HYPE?!? Yes. Oh yes. It borders on being under baked.. ours actually prolly was a bit. But it just makes it that much moist The outside is crispy. Inside moist. It was the single best bite I have had in years. I am in love All is good in the world with this cornbread Tomato Caesar. Our meal took a dip here after three unbelievably fantastic dishes. Were they fine. Yes. The toppings were so strong. I really couldn't taste tomato. While these look great, I'd say skip this dish. Order the green salad instead Next the steak : at $149. I was hoping for greatness. It mostly was. I took a the middle slice and it was great. Our bone marrow was a bit stingy. Only had enough for two slices. But it definitely enhances the steak! As we ate from the middle out. (Animals I know). It bacame apparent that everything but the middle slice was over cooked (ordered medium rare). This steak was cooked medium. So much so the outer 1/3s are dry. A bit disappointing for $150 steak. The server never solicited feedback on the food as it was served, even when we asked to box up half the steak. As they cleared plates.. we did get a "how was it,". Bit not a real check in as to how our food was The mashed potatoes were perfection. I did add some salt that was served with the steak to them as they were slightly....just slightly under seasoned. But still. These are pretty perfect mashed potatoes. We topped it off with cobbler (peach blackberry). It was great. And a small scoop of $9 ice cream .. cookies and cream. I'd skip this favor. Too much cookie. Not enough cream. Al in all. A really wonderful meal. The steak, even though it wasn't cooked perfectly . Was still delicious. That cornbread does live up to the hype. It is my best bite of the year for sure We have reservations again next week. I'm already looking forward to it!

It made it a little difficult to relax and have a conversation. Service: 3/5 The staff was friendly, but they seemed overwhelmed. The restaurant was packed, and it felt like they accepted more guests than they could comfortably handle. It took quite a while for someone to take our drink order, and the food also took a long time to arrive. Noise Level: Very loud Food: 4/5 The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing, and the food quality is there. That said, it feels like Dunsmoor has reached "hipster hype" status, where the buzz may be a little bigger than the overall experience. I'd definitely go back, though, because there are still several appetizers I'd like to try. What We Ordered: - Chicken Liver - 5/5: Absolutely delicious. The rich chicken liver paired perfectly with their incredible sourdough bread. - Green Chile Stew - 5/5: Outstanding. It was packed with large, tender chunks of pork, and the fresh flour tortillas were amazing. - Trout - 3/5: The biggest disappointment of the meal. While the fish was meaty and cooked well, it lacked flavor and felt very basic. - Famous Cornbread - 4/5: Good, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Final Thoughts: Dunsmoor serves some excellent food, especially the chicken liver and green chile stew, but the overall experience was held back by the long waits and noisy dining room. I can see why it's so popular, but I think some of the excitement is driven by hype. Even so, I'd come back to explore more of the menu.

I came here right at opening on a Sunday morning and was able to sit right away down at the bar area inside. I was gonna grab breakfast - most likely the pancakes, but I saw that some pasta dishes were available. I ended up ordering the linguine al limone. I'm sure I would have been happy with the pancakes, but so glad I opted for the linguine. The pasta was perfectly cooked and it was a bright and tasty dish with a slight citrus zest. Such a fun dish to eat. Especially in the morning where I was able to enjoy with a nice cappuccino. Definitely a place I would like to come back and enjoy with another person or a small group. I got there pretty much right at opening on the weekend so there was plenty of street parking nearby

Located on the…read moresecond floor, we had no idea what to expect and upon entering, we were introduced to a whole new world. The decor and ambience is absolutely remarkable, so much so that we just had to stare at every detail when walking over to the terrace. Even in the searing summer heat, the terrace offered us a soft, peaceful breeze, so everything felt just right. At the same time, we took advantage of the lovely views of the neighborhood on one side and the beautiful interior of the bar as a centerpiece on the other. Whether having drinks or a meal, this was the perfect setting. Each person on staff was very welcoming and enthusiastic, and they hit the right notes in terms of helping to set the atmosphere. We were recommended the sticky Japanese sweet potato and informed that the skewers would also be delicious and filling. The king salmon skewer and glazed pork belly skewers were indeed amazing. It was obvious that each culinary item was treated with great attention to detail. For me personally, the shoyu, pickled daikon, and rhubarb on the pork belly truly created that perfect bite. Needless to say, I cannot wait for my next trek to the magnificent Checker Hall.

Centerpiece has become one of my go-to spots to unwind. I came in with a friend and we ended up staying way longer than we planned just because the vibe was so relaxed. The staff is genuinely friendly, not pushy at all, and they actually know their flavors. They gave a couple recommendations that ended up being perfect.
