I don't understand any of the bad reviews. My hubby and I stopped by on our way back to the hotel for an afternoon pick-me-up. I was in the mood for savory and my husband wanted sweet so he got a slice of apple pie and I tried the chicken pie. Lemme tell you...I AM GOING TO DREAM ABOUT THIS PIE. It was so flavorful, covered in gravy, filled with moist chicken, cloaked in a flaky crust, and served with a dollop of the most amazing cranberry sauce (not the jelly kind, the REAL kind). It tasted like thanksgiving. So homey, warm, and savory. I had a small bite of the apple from my husband's plate and it was nicely spiced and not completely soft like some pies get. There was a nice bite left in it. Sadly, being from Orlando, we won't get the chance to come back but knowing I can order it online makes me feel better. Well done, Centerville. read more

I bought a coconut creme pie. I found the crust to me the only positive part of the experience. The cream part was just some runny pudding (I did keep it refrigerated) that was maybe vanilla flavored? Once we took the first slice out the entire pie lost all form and the whipped topping and pudding separated. The main issue really was there was not any coconut flavor in this pie besides the couple of sprinkles of coconut on top of the pie. read more

One of our favorites. When we moved here & I realized we were down the road from one of Oprah's favorite things, I couldn't wait to try it! Have never been disappointed! Chicken pie is amazing- just chicken & gravy. Soups are always great, but oddly enough, my favorite thing on the menu is the grilled ham & cheese sandwich. So simple, yet divine! For dessert, can't miss with the cape cod crunch or the chocolate chip pie. Hubs loves the apple pie a la mode. Fantastic chicken pie and dessert pies! Really wonderful. In addition, great customer service from the owner. I've eaten these pies myself. Plus, they make great get well gifts for someone who can't cook. When I called from California just recently and placed an order to have several pies shipped to a family member, the owner shipped it from the store herself because my relative lived so close to her in MA (instead of shipping it from their distribution center somewhere else on the east coast). She didn't have to do that for me, but she proactively suggested it and saved me a lot on shipping costs. I really appreciated the personal touch and that she called me to followup and let me know when the pies had been shipped. Good luck getting that customer service anywhere else nowadays. We ordered 2 pies to be delivered on December 22nd, to serve at Christmas. Shortly after placing the order, we received an email stating they were having delivery issues and the new delivery date was changed to December 29th. These 2 pies totaled over $100. One pie was cherry and the other was buffalo chicken. We decided to call and cancel, because it was too much money to spend, if our Christmas guests weren't going to be able to enjoy them and we'd have to purchase something else to take the place of these 2 pies. When we called, the clerk couldn't find our order number, or address, in the computer, making canceling the order impossible. We assumed that the order possibly got eliminated when there was a glitch in shipping. Then, on the 30th, the pies showed up on our doorstep. Upon opening the box, we first noticed the bag of dry ice was sliced and pieces of dry ice were stuck onto the shrink wrap of the pies. Then, one of the pies was barbecued pork. We checked the invoice and it was correct; one cherry and one buffalo chicken. Finally, we noticed the cherry pie was in air tight shrink wrap and the other pie wasn't. We went online and emailed Goldbely; the company that distributes for Centerville Pies. We explained everything. The first reply "apologized for the confusion," offered to ship the buffalo chicken pie, and then told me December 29th WAS my scheduled delivery date, so, basically ignored the information I provided. We emailed back re-explaining the delivery issue, asked if the un-shrink wrapped pie was spoiled, and told them to only mail the buffalo chicken pie, if it was going to be free of charge. Their reply was nothing by way of apologizing or answering my question about the buffalo chicken pie. They basically just let me know that, if the un-shrink wrapped pie was still frozen, it was okay. Then, they emailed (in these words exactly), "Who do you speak with as the order has been been cancelled or refunded. Let me know!" To which we replied, "I think what you're asking is who we spoke with when we called, have we received a refund, and has the order been canceled?" We proceeded to let them know that we didn't know the clerk's name, we hadn't received any refund, and we doubt the order was canceled, as we'd received the pies! Then, 4 days passed without communication. The next email I received was an email asking me for a rating/survey of the customer service. I let them know, again, our whole story. That was 4 days ago. We also emailed Centerville Pie Company, back on December 30th, via Kristin Broadley (kristin@centervillepies.com), the contact person listed on their website, and I never received a reply from her at all. I gave this review 2 stars because we have cooked and eaten the 2 pies. They were good, but not worth over $100! I'm so amazed at the horrible customer service compared to the high cost of these products. Just a real disappointment. Sorry for the lengthy review, but here's to hoping maybe they'll work out these kinks. read more

The pie is simply delicious. We got the cape cod crunch pie, so good! The crust is flaky and moist, a little crunchy, a little soft. Exactly how I think a pie crust should be. Perfection. I'd really like to go back and try the chicken pie, I'd imagine it is just as good as all the hype. I gave this place a 4 stars because, my boyfriend and I came here for breakfast and weren't too impressed. Omelet and eggs benedict were alright. I really love the pies here. We've tried most, both sweet and savory. The chicken pie is tops. Don't complain about the fact that there are no veggies! That's how we make chicken pie in New England. I really love the spinach and feta and the bar-b-q pork was a real surprise. I dream about the French meat pie sometimes. It's that good. I accidentally bought the clam pie, and I haven't tried it yet. It's in the freezer. It just doesn't sound appealing but it won't got to waste, I can assure you. We've tried some of the sweet pies and they are great, too I agree with one reviewer who said, "why is the crust so sweet?" I wish it wasn't. That's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. That having been said, I still travel an hour to buy their pies. As another reviewer said - bring cash or plastic and stock up!!!! read more

We had their famous chicken pie with gravy. Not impressed. The chicken was ok, a bit dry. The crust was good but the gravy was incredibly salty. I tried it once and that was it for me. Not good. The cost of $22 didn't fit the quality. I much prefer a Willow Tree pie in the freezer section of Stop and Shop over this pie. On to the dessert pies, we ordered the chocolate cream pie with toffee and shaved chocolate. Very good but it's basically instant chocolate pudding topped with whipped cream and Heath bar pieces which I can make at home for a third of the price. My gauge of a good pie place is being able o make a good Apple pie. Right? Strike three. The crust is good but the pie fell flat for me. It was mushy inside and the few apples I was able to taste had the skins still on them. The pie was bland. It needed more sugar with better apples and some lemon and butter to wake all the flavors. I was looking forward to this pie the most and was hugely disappointed. You've got to get the Apple right! The only saving grace for us was the Cherry pie. Now I suspect that they use a bought in filling but it works with the cherries. Tart and sweet and tasty. I wanted to love Centerville Pie Co. and have it as a go to place for us down the Cape. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone I know. read more

Not sure what as changed with CVille Pies....we had them over that past few years....all very good until more recently...the past two we've had were too doughy, the bottom crust too thick; and the filling wasnt that good; also seemed like there is less chicken. After having a ham and cheese ( delicious) omelette and my husband having a breakfast sandwich, we were talking to one of the owners ( Kristen) who even gave us a free sample of their chicken pie. Of course we loved it and placed an order for one of then and two other pies to bring home with us. If you want great food and great pies you cannot go wrong with this place! Trust me, not a bad pie in the bunch. With that said, my three all time favorites (in order) are the classic apple pie, the seafood pie and the mixed berry pie. While they don't always have the seafood pie and it can be a bit pricey, it is soooo worth it (100% shrimp, scollop and fish). A couple of suggestions: 1) be sure to ask if they have any imperfect pies for sale (50% off really helps the bottom line). Oh, and their definition of imperfect is our definition of a home run pie if we made it at home. 2) if you have convection on your stove, always use it. read more

Since the close of the vintage and locally well known Centerville Pastry Shop, a few decades ago, the small coastal village of Centerville, MA on Cape Cod has lacked a quality coffee/breakfast/lunch eatery for all of those years. Villagers complained about it to eachother, but noone did anything about it. That all changed when two smart business women stepped up to the plate and took on the challenge. I am compelled to say that, the new Centerville Pie Company - located on Rte. 28 (a/k/a Falmouth Rd.) , Centerville is a villagers dream come true. Owners Kristin and Laurie have created a small eatery that seats about 16, serving breakfast, lunch and take out. Also a lunch special that includes sandwiches and drinks for four including sand buckets and shovels. The fantastic all-American comfort cuisine is cooked YOUR WAY in an open setting that allows the chef, waitstaff and patrons the opportunity to freely converse and enjoy a really casual and neighborly atmosphere. The big bonus to this eatery however, is the pot pies (hot or frozen) and dessert pies. They offer a full menu of handmade pies including: chicken, shephards, guinness beef, clam, etc. , as well as all the decadent dessert pies you can imagine. Came here for the first time on a Sunday 2/18. Googled the hours and it said that they are open until 3pm. Came here 5min of 2 and the girl behind the counter had an attitude and said that they are closing at 2pm. Couldn't get serviced in the diner. Normally I would have just turned around and left, but since drove all the way there, ended up buying couple pies to try at home. Bought a large French Meat Pie. Large Shepherd's Pie, Large Cherry Pie, small BBQ Pulled Pork Pie, small Braised Beef Pie, Mashed Potatoes, Clam Chowder, and a piece of the Chocolate Creme Pie. The French Meat Pie was delicious, the Shepherd's pie was ok, the Cherry pie was blend, I think because the cherries are not in season. The Braised Beef Pie was good. The BBQ Pulled Pork Pie was delicious but I think that the pulled pork would have been way better on a sub roll. Mashed potatoes were delicious. Clam chowder was watery but had huge chunks of clams and was delicious. Also the chocolate creme pie was good. Overall was a good way to try few of their pies. Ended up spending $105.57 for everything. Some of the pies could be better but overall it was good. read more

On my first visit I chose to have pie knowing that I don't really like meat pie so naturally I wasn't overly satisfied; however I told myself I had to go back and try something else and I am glad I did. The chicken pecan salad is very tasty and the restaurant seems to be a hit with the community. I ordered my husband's favorite pie, cherry, from Centerville Pies. It was horrible. He took one bite and threw the entire pie away. He has never thrown a pie away before. Also ordered a chicken pie which was terribly salty, and made with a sweet pastry crust. Savory pie with sweet crust? What were they thinking?
