Thanks to our server (Peg?) and some delicious offerings, the very limited (and pricey) Mother's Day afternoon tea was a hit with my family (and me). Gratuity was included, but our service was so wonderful, we tipped on top of the tip. The turkey salad sandwich was the table favorite, and we were delighted to learn its on their regular menu! Guess we will be taking out a sandwich or two in the future... IF we can bypass buying one of their AMAZING SEAFOOD PIES in luscious sherry sauce and exploding with scallops, shrimp, fish... but I digresss. We were here for ME day (ok, so I DID take a pie on my way out...). $65 bought you 3 sandwiches, one of which was less than petite and oh so delicious with its home made pesto and brioche bun. The baby cranberry orange American scones were delicious and light (a light scone, right? Crazy), mini blueberry muffins, 3 lovely pastries and a croissant. Also included was champagne (or mimosa) and a cordial shot for your tea. It was all wonderful. Now, I'd take away a star for the young and weird counter staff. Seemed like either high school girls or early college - not really well trained (they didn't know much about anything, and were mostly confused and more interested in talking among each other)... I picked up a bag of croutons and it had a hole in it... their "fix" was to pour it into another bag! (GASP! REALLY? I hate to say this but it was a Legally Blonde moment). Thank goodness an "adult" or more mature professional stepped in and asked if I'd like a new bag... DUH, YES, RIGHT ANSWER. So the croutons and one of those evil seafood pies made it home for mom. I think the girls just need training (and some growing up to do - they weren't unpleasant, just... immature). All in all this place is beautiful, their offerings are wonderful and for the most part, the staff is great. Now that I'm here from my beloved Hudson (ok, I'm still mourning my Hudson town and former home), I expect to make Amie one of my favorite stops. OH, did I mention their coffee is also great? This is such a cute bakery and cafe! They have a wide range of pastries and baked goods, as well as breakfast items. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and a chocolate croissant - it was incredibly made, a perfect blend of buttery and flaky. The coffee drink was delicious too. I've already given this place a bad review I went in to give it a second shot I bought cookies one was good. The other one was so hard that it almost broke my teeth. I ordered a Matcha latte with almond milk. They made it with oat and when I pointed that out politely, they were very rude about remaking it. The remade version tasted like burnt water. Discovered this bakery thanks to Yelp as we were out for a drive Saturday morning. What a great place! Pretty surroundings and bright colorful decor drew us in. Service was exceptional and our pastries were fantastic. The layering of the croissant pastry was amazing. I bought two cute coffee cups to bring home as a reminder of our bright morning. Delicious food and nice location just heading out of Osterville. Despite the full parking lot and long line we were able to park on a nearby side of the road and the line was speedy. Let me start by saying, the temperature of this establish was very comfortable. The bakery is very French and pretty, if a little kitschy. The staff seemed tired. Not unfriendly, but definitely not warm. Not a smile in sight. We ordered the quiche, the McAmie, a ham, egg, and cheese croissant, a cheese and egg croissant, a chocolate croissant, a latte and iced Brazilian latte. The coffees were very good. The croissants were all good and on par with anything you'd find in France or at an excellent bakery. The flavor of the sandwiches was great, but they use a microwaved omelet egg, which somehow came out all three times cold, while the cheese was melted. It was a paradox. The bakery is lovely and customers were cheerful and happy to be there, but don't wait in line for anything. Go before 9:30 when it becomes super busy. Bacon, Egg, and cheese is mediocre. The food looks better than it tastes. Everything is very expensive. I bought a pre made turkey sandwich because I didn't have time to make lunch. The sandwich said it was 2 days old but the turkey was slimy and gross. I could not eat it. You could also tell the turkey was low quality meat. It was not turkey breast, it was that cheap cold cut turkey that glued into blocks and pumped full of sodium. It had the little air bubbles in the meat. The coffee TBH was meh, macchiato not the strongest, nor Brazilian latte which sounded promising but lacked some depth. This is nit-picky but I would have expected that since the vibe here is French, wouldn't the coffee drinks reflect that e.g. cafe noir, noisette or cafe au lait instead of espresso, macchiato or latte? We stopped in for bakery take out! The space is beautiful- black and white tiles with a space for tables and a glasses in kitchen. The service was excellent. We got crumb cake and blueberry muffins and raspberry scones and a plain croissant. The crumb cake was delicious and crumbly with a sugar crisp topping. The raspberry scone was delicious. Average. I am a bit of a bakery/cafe snob. The coffee shop is really cute but drinks or the pastries were average. The almond croissant was soft and wished there was more almond filling. My sister said the coffee was very good, so maybe it's a stop for coffee. I would search elsewhere for baked goods. read more

Best almond croissant I have ever had!! The s'mores bars and the coconut macaroons were also delicious! The bakery is adorable, very relaxed setting, with a couple of seats outside on a perfectly manicured lawn. They sell their cookie dough to bake at home! Can't wait to go back! So much potential but overall disappointed. The cupcakes were kept in the fridge (a bakery no no) so the cake was tough (batter over mixed) and the frosting was cold and not exactly tasty. My BLT was served on an oversized and delicious brioche roll. The roll was nicely toasted but was so sweet and dense that you literally couldn't taste the scant serving of bacon on the sandwich. At a bakery like this, the sandwiches should be perfectly balanced. Charge me more if you have to but don't skimp on the bacon. The beverage selection was good. I've had other baked goods which have been very good I think there is a lack of detail going on here. I want to give it 4 stars but as an executive chef, I'd be misrepresenting the place. Such a disappointment. Was expecting to get fresh croissants in the morning for takeout. Got the ones from the day before as they did not feel fresh and were not soft. The loveliest little (but not really little) bakery I've ever been to! Rivals the cute Boulangeries of France. Aesthetically beautiful.. but the food/pastries/coffee is where they shine. The chocolate hazelnut latte is to die for..and you can't go wrong with any of their savory sandwiches..turkey pesto, croissant sandwiches, paninis, the breads are amazing- the brioche bread is delish. Hate to write a negative review but my gripe is regarding their advertising of incorrect pricing. We grabbed 3 cookies for the kids at $2.25 each and the charge was $13.50?? I didn't notice at first but then though, huh that's way off, and exactly double, so probably an error. When I let them know they said no, no error, the cookies are $4.50 each. In two different places in the case they're labeled "bear cookies $2.25" and nowhere are they $4.50? The girls shrugged, "I guess that price is old." It's totally uncool to notice pricing discrepancies when money is no object, got it. While the cookies are fine they're the same as when they cost half, which just seems a bit ridiculous. I wonder how much everything else actually costs, but when they sell custom cakes and so forth and all have labels in the case I'd be prepared for a surprise. read more

There is something to be said of the ambiance of a place and Amie has simply got that down. You step in and you feel transported off the Cape and somewhere with more hustle and bustle. The coffee is fantastic, I have enjoyed every oat milk latte from there! On top of that I haven't tried a baked good I don't like. Particularly their McAmie. And, if a business is changing much much more for a product then that product must be truly superlative in every manner. Today, I was totally unimpressed. Ostentatious Osterville residents probably don't care. In fact, I'd bet they feel better overpaying as it puts themselves in a league of their own. Well, good for them. So glad to have discovered this hidden gem on the Cape this week after a colleague told me about it! I have lived in 3 different countries and have traveled to over 20 countries across Europe and the world. And I have a very bad sweet tooth, so you can imagine I made bakeries a priority in all my travels! Having said that, I can say with confidence that AMIE Bakery is one of the best I've ever tried! The moment you step into the space, you feel like you're in Paris - the space is clean, beautiful, lots of natural light supplemented by very nice ambient space lighting. The pastry counter looks amazing - I'm glad I placed my order over the phone, otherwise I would have been tempted to get way more things to try! Both kinds of the quiche were delicious, the dressing for the salad that came with the quiche was truly French, the raspberry scones were crumbly good, the blueberry muffins scrumptious, the cinnamon roll - very original, and the beignets were the melt-in-your-mouth highlight!!! My hazelnut latte was a very nice treat to go along with all this sweet deliciousness! I also got to meet Amie herself - she was very open and kind, and went out of her way to provide excellent customer service! I'm in the area often so I always swing by this place (and the prior location). Everything is really good, maybe save the bread which needs more...flavor. Feedback: 1) I have chatted with the owner about their flow, I again suggest visiting Seven Stars locations in Providence, maybe even chat up the managers about their workflow. They have it down. Whatever you do don't take notes from Flour in Boston, their order expedition is a mess. 2) The baristas could could use a formal training program, perhaps from an outside company like New Harvest in Providence. The barista on staff last time I was there was making mistakes indicative of zero training in barista best practices. Here is some free training - you should never hear screeching from a milk steaming pitcher. Steam it to 140-150, not past. If you hear screeching you need to pull the steam wand up and check the temp. As expected my milk was over steamed and burnt my mouth. This could have been avoided with a "how to steam milk 101" course or even a YouTube video. Good luck! read more

love the sophistication of this bakery! It's really a treat to have such a wonderful bakery in Osterville. They have heavenly croissants and cookies. However, I've bee three times over the last 4 months and ordered a decaf latte. All three times I've been really disappointed. I thought a bit about the problem: I think they add too much foamed milk to the cup and, most importantly, their decaf coffee beans are bitter--or grounded wrong. I compare Amie's decaf latte to the ones I've had at Nirvana and Common grounds cafes in Barnstable--and, of course, any Starbucks, and sadly it falls way short. Perhaps Amy could check out one of these spots and what amount they use and the type of decaf bean they buy.
