I've had no specific issues interacting with the office staff, they're clear and direct on what is possible and what is not. Dr. Vito took care of a couple crowns for me. Did a great job. They hide a $5.00 charge on all clients. When I asked what the fee was for was told due to covid and the need for face masks. I asked didn't you always wear a face mask prior to covid. Was told yes but they can now pass this cost on to the client. Fast forward to this week I'm told I need a crown and deep cleaning. My cost after insurance $600 for crown and $57 for cleaning. I asked if I could split over three payments, was told No pay 1/2 day of and other half in a few weeks. I did not get the crown since I didn't have almost $700 in pocket. I agreed to the deep cleaning. I was surprised a deep cleaning took all of 10 minutes, not a deep cleaning it was a regular cleaning just one more way to pull money from the client. Looks like I need a new dentist!!!!! read more

I should have known from day one when I felt like was entering a dungeon. Weird, uncomfortable environment. No hygienist. I've brushed my teeth better than what they called a "cleaning." The worst part is, he did a lot of expensive work that I have now found out was close to malpractice IMO. I take that back. The worst is the troll at the front desk/guy who answers phone. I feel like I'm talking to a low end car dealer who is trying to swindle my money or cut a deal with me or act as if he's doing ME a favor when he fixes what he jacked up in the first place. I left your practice after 5 years mainly because your front desk and administration have awful customer service. They would not send a reminder even when you left your own self-addressed stamped card. I called several times, one with an emergency, they told me they will call me back and weeks would go by - no return call. This last time 2-months went by since I ask if I could see another dentist because my provider was not available. They told me "I will call you tomorrow", and tomorrow became 2 months, so last week I looked for another practice. The most severe incident is when I asked, numerous times, for your insurance person to advocate for 3 times per year cleaning due to my periodontal condition. They told me, without checking, "no it can't be done, they would not approve it". Interesting that my new provided received approval for cleaning every 3 months on my first visit. The decision of your administration to not advocate made my condition worse. Oh, you did send $30 for not showing up for an appointment which I will ask for you to place it in my "No Return Calls and Unprofessional Administration Service" column as a credit for my inconvenience. Sunshine Family immediately communicated through email, text, and phone call, sent me all the forms ahead for a smooth first visit and the whole staff were lovely and helpful. I like that they have up-to-date technology instruments to do their work. Yet the best part is that they talked with my insurance right away advocating for cleanings every 3 months. We called after hours due to sharp pain from a crown area. We spoke with Dr. Baek who suggested to take two Advil and call in the morning for an appointment. When we called the next day, the office staff said they couldn't squeeze us in. Not only do they have horrible hours for working individuals, they don't even have an emergency procedure that they can follow through with. We are leaving this practice as of today. read more

Horrific. Jennifer Enriquez, the office "manager" lacks any empathy for anyone. I was running late with my twins, I called and asked if I needed to reschedule, she said to come in as long as it wasn't 15 minutes past the time. We were in the building by 10 minutes past. I had to search for the right elevator, then navigate the labyrinth of offices downstairs. I got to their office 21 minutes past. Even though I had called, made them aware and asked ahead of time if I needed to reschedule, when I got there the receptionist looked worried. She said she would ask the doctor. She never got the chance. Jennifer appeared from her office behind the desk and said no absolutely not no one is asking the doctor your twins will not be seen today. I was taken aback by her unwillingness and down right refusal to compromise. I asked her if this is how she runs her office and she said yes. She then told me that the school forms were due 10/15/2016 and looked at me in the most condescending way a person could look. I told her that our district forms were due 5/15/2017 and asked if she was trying to say something about me. She only smirked. All in front of my children. I asked for the name and number of her manager and she gave me a FAX NUMBER, 1(847) 640-1107. I did get ahold of someone by googling the company that owns them and they are investigating her. I have panic disorder and let there in a complete panic attack. There was no reason for her to be so incredibly rude. She refused to even talk to the doctor. Things happen and people have issues that cause them to be late. In my case is was twin boys, one getting out of class late and the other one afraid of elevators, which I let her know about. I asked her for an apology for her rudeness and attitude. She refused and said no I am not going to do that. I worked for 13 years in the banking industry and have managed branches. By the book is not always possible in every situation. There are people and situations that require us to go with the flow. She needs a lesson in humility and a lesson in flexibility. We do not know what clients are experiencing in their day to day lives and being in the health care industry it is SO important to be mindful of that. She called my husband back today and continued her crusade by arguing with him as he calmly explained that being in the service industry requires one to let go of their own perceptions and see things from the client's viewpoint. She again refused to apologize to me when he gave her the opportunity to try again, because I was sitting next to him. She plainly said that she will not. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. The fact that it was at a healthcare provider makes it that much worse. read more

I am an established patient and was greeted today with hostility by Jennifer the office manager. The second I walked in it was apparent she was not having a good day. She became belligerent when it was time to pay. I have dental insurance and she refused to submit it. Blue Cross Blue Shield spoke with her and stated they are responsible for the bill and I'm insured. They offered to fax a verification. I had my insurance card as well yet nothing seemed to convince Jennifer that I'm covered. She demanded I pay right there out of pocket. She picks up the phone and called the Wheaton Police Department. She told them she needs an officer to come there for theft of service. Of course no officer showed up. Jennifer made a pretend call. She was enraged and her colleagues looked very uncomfortable. She informed me I'm not allowed back there for God knows what reason. Not like I was planning on going back anyway after being verbally assaulted and being forced to pay $222. I called Blue Cross after I left and they confirmed I shouldn't of paid it and they will reimburse me. I'd suggest steering clear of this place. read more

This dentist office was shockingly bad. I have never had an experience like this with a medical office in my life. The waiting room reeked of smoke, and when I was finally shown to my exam room, it was dark and dirty! There was paint coming off the walls, and there was dust and dirt on the equipment, and on the ceiling. I had to wait there for a long time, so I noticed everything. I almost walked out. The staff wasn't rude, but they weren't very friendly. The dentist was gentle on my teeth but the cleaning was the shortest, least thorough cleaning I've ever had, and I left feeling gipped. First of all, yes the facility is in dire need of a major facelift. It's is so dark and dingy, and the cream color scheme does nothing to promote the feeling of modern and most importantly clean. Dentists offices should be bright, light and white! After my first time taking my kids there (because they are in network) for their annual check ups, I swore I would never go back. The reception staff were also very unfriendly that time, and we were kept waiting for over an hour before our visit and again a long time between each kid. However, one of my kids fell and chipped his tooth before I found a new dentist, so I had to take him back there. It was a much better experience. The staff were friendlier (not friendly, but better). Most importantly Dr Hannah Baek and her assistant just did a fantastic fixing the chipped tooth on my 8 year old. He was a nervous wreck, but they were kind and gentle, talked him through every step, explaining what they were doing and relieving his fears and uncertainties, and the end result was excellent, you can't even tell he ever had a chip. So No, I don't like the facilities, but it's the skill of the doctor that matters more and I was really happy with her work. IF I could break my score down it would be * for the facilities but ***** for Dr Baek. It looks like the entire building is being renovated, and all the offices one by one, so hopefully the renovation will make it's way to the dental office soon. This has been the worst dentist I have ever been to. First, the place is dirty, and the equipment is old, probably outdated. Second, the staff are not particularly friendly. I had an appointment, but the dentist did not show up. When I cancelled the appointment for my mom, they kept the appointment and charged "No Show." Third, they always find reasons to charge additional. Cleaning was supposed to be free under my insurance; however, the doctor did some "special cleaning" and charge a couple of hundreds. Fourth, I had some concerns about their skills. After they put in the crown, I always have foods in between the teeth and feel extremely uncomfortable. They did the filling on one of my teeth, but the one next to it had cavity and was not fixed. read more

This office has the most awful staff I have ever dealt with. I called and spoke to someone named Pen last week. She was extremely manic and said that their computers were already shut down (an hour before they close) so I would have to call back next week. The following week I call the office 10-12 times during normal office hours and got voice mail ever single time. After leaving multiple messages, I finally received a call back from a woman that claimed she was from a different office and just heard my voice mails. Long story short I would not be able to get in for a basic cleaning/check up until possibly the last week of October (over a month and a half from now), at which time the woman suggested that I call back to make the appointment. YEAH RIGHT! So I can spend another week trying to get a hold of another incompetent office personnel. I called my dental HMO and had my primary dentist changed immediately. This office is so bad I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. The office staff is rude and they don't seem to understand what an emergency is. I had a temporary crown that fell out on a Sunday night. I left a message for Monday morning and all I got was sorry that's not an emergency. The heck it's not. My tooth was exposed and could turn into an infection. All they said was that I could come in and get some temporary cement and put it back in myself. REALLY, what do I know about putting a temp crown back on. My dentist wasn't in and they don't like to cross patients over to different dentists. WOW, I remember seeing several doctors when I had my kids. What difference does it make, my insurance will pay the same! When I walked in to get the temporary cement, the waiting room was EMPTY!! So much for being booked solid. I asked if there was someone who could help me put it back in and was told the Doctor already has three people in the back waiting for their appt. REALLY, it would only take about two minutes, if that, and I would not be on here venting my frustrations! And again, the staff was top of the line RUDE!!!!!!! I am calling BCBS and filing a complaint. If that doesn't work, I will go higher up to whatever group watches over dentists. DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE, THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!!! read more

Left work early to be at my 4 p.m appointment. Followed instructions left in voicemail that the office was under construction to enter from building C and to use the steps. It said NOTHING about about arriving early since this was my first appointment. I get to the office and was told the doctor could not see me because I did not get there early and it was after 4 (it was 4:03). I then explain that I was not told anything about getting there early in the voicemail. She basically called me a liar and I left. I then replayed the voicemail to make sure I hadn't missed her stating that. After realizing I hadn't made any mistake I returned to the office to once again be turned away. Even after I told her I was not told to be there early. I will NEVER go back to that office. I wasted vacation time to attend that appointment only to be treated with littler respect. I DON"T recommend ever going to this office as they are rude and unprofessional to say the least. read more
