I bought a Bosch dishwasher from this store this week. The two gentlemen who delivered it were delightful and very focused on doing a good job and cleaning up after themselves. They were so polite and concerned with my happiness. i had hesitated to spend the money on a new dishwasher at this time but now I am so glad that I did. I have a beautiful new dishwasher in my kitchen, and I feel good about supporting a local family-owned business. If I could give Central Furniture 10 stars I would. Joey in sales and Dale and Bob in service have been absolutely wonderful to work with. Joey is very responsive and has been very good to us - when my husband and I renovated and needed several appliances he gave us a great deal and a hassle-free experience from sales and delivery to follow up after the purchase. Some sales people I've worked with have stopped being responsive after the sale was made but not Joey, and for that reason we went right back to him when we needed a washer and dryer the following year. Dale and Bob have both been out for service and I have found that service appointments were very easy to set up, on time, and comprehensive. Both Dale and Bob were a pleasure to work with - they're super friendly, knowledgeable and able to address our issues like true experts. They were great about getting parts ordered, answering questions patiently and just generally going above and beyond to be helpful. I don't usually write reviews but Central Furniture is a different story. During the pandemic like many people I had appliances die. I went to an appliance store and had a terrible experience. The owner lied and misrepresented his products. Then my washer died. I called Mark at Central Furniture. He took time with me to figure out which brand and model would suit my needs and limited space best. They delivered in every single way. This week I realized my old gas grill is rotted from top to bottom. I looked at their website choose a few models and called Mark again. He was helpful and patient.. I purchased the grill and they are delivering it this week. In this time when big box stores have no help or inadequate help dont waste your time- try a family owned business with personal service. Imagine it's 2 days before Christmas weekend, you have 10 lbs of pork loin, 8 lbs of potatoes, and 16 people coming for dinner. And your stove stops working. Not only was Bob from Central Furniture out that same day, he worked some kind miracle to get the part the next day and even offered to come in on his day off on Sat to fix it. All while helping to figure out if the stove was worth fixing or if it made more sense to buy a new one. Awesome, timely, and friendly service. When I do need a new stove, I know where I'm going. Most of my appliances have been from central. The sales seem to do a great job and The service techs are great they are very experienced and know exactly what they are doing. In the office though I don't think they are very organized. We have the display model of a Bosch washer and drier. They never deliveries the manuals for either even after repeated calls. I don't blame the techs for forgetting but the people in the office for a lack of care of a customer. If I had a manual for my washer drier it would have saved me a $130 service call to find out that if I had the manual the repair is very easy to avoid. My advice to anyone buying anything from this retailer is make sure that you get all the paperwork on delivery otherwise you will never get it and it will cost you. read more

We recently had a very positive experience with Central Furniture and Appliance. We ordered a refrigerator via telephone. Joey, the salesman, was very helpful and directed us to a refrigerator that would meet our needs. The refrigerator was delivered and installed without any difficulty. About a week and a half later we noted that the refrigerator portion was not cooling even though the freezer was working fine. A service man came and diagnosed the problem. The coils were not being defrosted properly and had built up with a lot of ice. After a second replacement board failed to defrost properly, Central Appliance ordered, delivered, and installed a new refrigerator. The owner, Mark, was great and willingly arranged the replacement. The owners are the most crooked and rude people i have met. We had spent thousands of dollars here up until our latest experience. We purchased a refrigerator here for $2800 after our previous refrigerator that we purchased here for $1500 stopped working after 5 years. When we purchased the second one we made it very clear that we did not want our next refrigerator to last only 5 years and wanted a longer warranty. We purchased a 5 year warranty and at the time were told it would run after the manufacturer warranty ran out. Well low and behold 5 years later almost to the exact day our second fridge stopped working. Both refrigerator's it was the compressor which is not worth replacing. After contacting Mark i was told the warranty we purchased ran concurrent with the manufacturers. That is not what we wanted or were told at the time of purchase. They were not even willing to send out a tech free of charge to diagnose the issue. We paid $55 to another company to tell us it was junk. I will never go back here for so much as a nut or bolt. These two pukes have no right being in business and i will do all i can to deter people from shopping here. read more

Quite a few years ago, we were referred to Central Furniture for an appliance we were looking to buy. Normally, we price things out from multiple stores, but since day 1 of walking into Central Furniture, we never looked any place else. Our house should have a sign "Designed by Central Furniture and Appliance". Our house not only has leather couches, but also all major kitchen appliances, bedroom furniture, wine cooler, kegerator, dining room furniture, curio cabinets, etc. They have quality merchandise and EXCELLENT service. It's not just about service and products, I also trust them. You can't put a price tag on trust. We have been customers of theirs exclusively for almost 10 years and have never been disappointed. The owners are not in it to become millionaires. They're in it to make a living. They don't just have my loyalty, they have free advertising by word of mouth for life. We have purchased appliances and some furniture from Central for about 5 years. We buy multiple appliances every year and these guys have been our go to choice whenever a property owner asks us where they should buy their appliances. For the first couple years the service was good and it was nice to know we were supporting a local business and some hard working guys. In the past year we have noticed a real decline in service. Today we put their customer service to the test after the install guys showed up without a critical kit they needed for install. Instead of finding a solution to a problem they created Matt the owner simply told them to pack up and leave. Poor customer service and we will take our business elsewhere to a company who actually values our business. read more

Full house week of July 4th holiday, including the grandchildren ages 3 thru 5 and the old reliable washing machine breaks down. I arrived at Central Appliance the next business day @ 7:50AM (posted store hours show 8AM open) and unlike the local banks I was welcomed in by attentive store customer service employee who offered solutions after listening to my needs. Washing machine was delivered and installed on time as promised. Delivery personnel removed old unit, set up new and ran initial test cycle to ensure machine was working properly before they left. I am one happy customer. Both the sales personnel and delivery team emphasized contacting Central Appliance direct if I encounter any problems. read more

My refrigerator was leaking R134a coolant. I called Central Appliance of Sanford, ME for a repair. The technician that they sent to work on my refrigerator lacked the skills required to find the leak and repair the unit so he called his boss. The senior guy in charge over the phone without looking for a leak decides he knows what the problem is. The guy in charge said he was sure he knew how to fix it based on his experience. He ordered some parts and they returned the next day. He proceeded to lead me to believe they would fix it. After they finished I was given a bill for $390. The repair they made did not solve the problem as the charge of refrigerant leaked out over the next 20 months. Again I called them back for another service. The technician told me an undetectable leak is the problem and added more R134a. The tech handed me a bill for another $150. Again unit not repaired and left with R134a leaking from my unit. Very expensive for nothing accomplished. read more
