Out Garage Door was giving us some trouble last Saturday and was getting anxiety knowing that most places are closed on the Weekends and while scrolling through Yelp looking for Garage Door Technician's this Business caught my eye with all their 5 star reviews and all I have to say is that Yelp didn't let me down on this one because whatever reviews you saw about Central Garage Service is all legit. This is a business run by a Husband and Wife and when I gave Denise a call on this particular Saturday I explained my situation with out Garage Door and I asked here when is the earliest they can take a look at it. I was expecting at least early next week but she told me her Husband can take a look at it just a few hours later. Man did this really take the anxiety out of me. Denise even asked me for my Cell Number so she can keep me updated on everything. Come to find out that Don was able to come over my house about an earlier because he finished his other job earlier than expected and Denise let me know through text messaging and that's simply amazing. I was expecting the worst from our Garage Door situation because our Garage Door Springs broke and the Door came slamming down to the ground. I thought the Door got damaged but when Don came over he looked at everything and told me that by looking at it there's only one way to find out as soon as I got my springs replaced. Here is where the service here is next level. I asked Don if would be able to get the job done as soon as possible because I had to take my wife to work . He hesitated for awhile but I pleaded with him because I told him I was worried about Tropical Storm that was coming and I would be stressed that my car wouldn't be in the garage with possible debris flying all over the place and Don told me let's get to work ASAP. That's what you call going above and beyond and let's just say that Don got this job done well under the estimated time he gave me. I am forever grateful for not even hesitating and getting right into it. And after 24 years of living in our house, we finally have a totally brand new garage door opener which is a lot quieter now and now I don't even need a Garage Door Remote because I can open my Garage Door through my iPhone and also since my Car is only two years old he helped me activate my Garage Door Opener to my rear view Mirror which I never knew I could so I can just press a button to open to open and close it. My 39 year old garage door stopped opening today. Called another company first from Yelp, they gave me a quote, and no availability for 7 days. Called Central Garage ~10am and spoke to Denise (Don's wife). For some reason, I thought I saw their rating at 4.8 stars or so, but it's actually a full 5 stars, NOT SURPRISED; I likely mixed up their company with another. Super friendly and professional. Great start already having her be the first contact. Said Don was available in ~2 hours. Don arrived, very friendly guy, just like his wife. Took a look at my garage setup and immediately pointed out issues and what he recommended to replace. Basically needed a new motor and torsion springs. (Again, my house is from 1985 and the garage equipment was never updated). Gave me upfront pricing, which was WAY cheaper than the competitors AND he could start on it immediately. WONDERFUL. I watched Don do his work the entire time. It was great because he explained everything about garage doors to me. What parts are called, how it should be functioning, what to look out for if things start to break down, how to perform regular maintenance, etc. He even said to just contact him with any questions in the future and if it's something small he can help me fix over the phone, he won't charge me for it. My garage door spring broke last night. Although they don't have a place to submit for a quote, I called around 730am and they were able to provide me with a quote. They had an opening for that morning around 10am. I took the appointment. About 5min later they called back saying that they could come earlier which worked out perfectly for me. Don was great. Our original garage door only had one spring. Although he could have just replaced the one spring, he recommended that I go with two. He wasn't pushy at all about this and the price was reasonable. After installation, he made some adjustments to the springs and garage door to get it perfect. No more garage door slamming and it is overall quieter. This company is EXCEPTIONAL with customer service and garage motor replacement/installation! This is small business owned by a husband and wife team, Don and Denice. Denice handles the scheduling of appointments, able to quote prices, and has excellent product knowledge. Don, is the master service technician. He is efficient, cleans up after completing the work, and taught me how to use the many motor unit features--external keypads, downloading the software on my smartphone, and product care/maintenance. I've learned that garage motors varies depending on the garage size and height. And, whether you want to install a belt or chain to lift/close the garage door. Don is the owner and technician that came to replace my broken garage door spring. You know how inconvenient it is when you click the garage door remote to open the garage door only to hear a loud crack. Well needless to say, I missed my appointment because I could not lift my garage door with a broken spring. Central Garage Door was the only one of three calls where they could come out to my house in a couple of hours. He also called to let me know that he was 30 minutes away from arriving. Don is meticulous. He is a man after my own heart. I am meticulous also. We are the kind of people that keep the tools organized and together, rubbish in one pile, parts in another. If we are done with the use of the tool, we put the tool away. We like to keep the floor space trip free and uncluttered. Don's knowledge of doors is exquisite. He could tell right away that the spring that was currently installed was stronger than required. Given that being the case, he brought two pairs, one for the currently installed springs and the other a little less stronger. After he was done and by watching him as he explained every step he was taking and why, I agreed with him. I also noticed a frayed cable on my garage door and pointed it out to Don. He reiterated how important it is to not have any frayed cables as the strength of the cable is reduced and should it snap, it would cause the door to release awkwardly and in a worse case, pull the side tracks of their mountings. Don replaced both cables with brand new ones. Since Don did these major repairs, I asked if he would also do an annual maintenance on my whole system. This he happily did and explained everything he did, why he did it, and what he used, e.g. lubrication. Don is my new go to guy for maintaining my garage door. He also mentioned that springs have a life cycle of 10,000 cycles. So depending on how often we cycle our garage door open and close, will depend on when we should be replacing the springs before they break at the most inappropriate time. For us, it's in 5 years. I am not waiting 5 years before calling Don. I am planning on calling him annually to do maintenance on my door. We'll see you in 12 months Don. read more

I had my garage door spring coils replaced as one of them broke. The job is expensive. But due to the specialized tool needed and the safety issue with the spring coils under tension, its not a typical DIY job. The person doing the job was very helpful answering questions I had.
