They are pretty good. I had some pricey dress shoes that got beat up prom night and had a good sized chunk out of the leather toe from and girls high hill. I took them in and they did an okay job on cleaning and shining and they filled in the chunk pretty good but could have done a better job. I dropped off a purse in the beginning of March to have the handles repainted. I was told that it would take 3-4 weeks. After four weeks passed, I went to check on it and I was told it would be ready in a another couple of weeks. I went back another time and it STILL wasn't ready. This morning I went back to get my purse because it had been there for 3 months and they hadn't even begun to work on it. I got my purse back and will take it elsewhere. I want to give credit where credit is due. I am originally from NY, I was visiting Phoenix on vacation a few months ago . I broke a heel on a pair of my favorite shoes. Not being from here, I was a little nervous to trust my favorite shoes to a stranger. Nonetheless, I took a chance and spoke to the concierge at my hotel. I was desperate! The concierge recommended a place on Central Ave and Camelback. When I went in, I got to meet the shoe repairman, Nerick (who is also the owner), and showed him my shoes. He assured me they could be repaired and that they would look even better than before. I was surprised when he called me personally the next day to let me know my shoes were ready to be picked up. I appreciated that he completed the repair in such a timely and efficient manner, since I was pressured for time. When I picked up my shoes, I was amazed! I thought he was just trying to do some business when he initially said my shoes would look better than new. But, It was no lie. My shoes looked awesome!!! I couldn't wait to wear them so I can flaunt them. Needless to say, I was thrilled, and the price was actually lower than what I expected it to be. When I got home, I shipped a couple more pairs to his shop (Nerick told me this was quite all right). I waited until they were shipped back before I posted my thoughts here to make sure the first time was not a one-time deal. Once again, he did not disappoint. The guys at Nordstrom sent a pair of my shoes to this shop and they came back looking like new! Sooo I took a another pair to Central. When I dropped in a few weeks later my shoes were not ready. I did not get mad because they had done such a phenomenal job earlier. I was frustrated because I live 45 mi away. The owner sensed my frustration and came outside to talk to me. He told me that the reason for the delay was that he had to special order the heels. He apologized for the inconvenience and offered to ship them to me for free. I dropped off a vintage leather bag, a vintage leather belt and a pair of boots. I need some small, cosmetic details fixed on the bag, and a simple resizing of the belt. The boots were an easy zipper replacement. After several weeks I began to get nervous after not hearing of their completion. When I called, it was clear the owners had lost my pieces. As these pieces are irreplaceable, I immediately went in. After two weeks, the management was finally able to find them, but needed another week to do their job. Unfortunately, after charging me $50, none of the pieces were repaired properly. The belt was not resized, and the zipper on the boots was not replaced. I will never return to this place, and now I'm out the money and still need the repairs done. If you are looking for a solid leather or shoe repair shop in Phoenix, this is NOT it. read more

Shoe repair Awesome. I brought in a few semi-pricy new pairs of heels to get rubber soles put on, which I had always read was a good idea to protect the shoes. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the results were excellent. Each pair was a different color, and the soles matched accordingly, and blended in on the side of the shoe beautifully. Added an extra layer of protection and comfort, and a year later, they look brand new. I imagine my shoes will last forever this way, with only an infrequent sole repair or replacement - which is what I wanted when I purchased these shoes. read more

It's not the cheapest place in town, but I don't care because the quality and speed are worth the price. They make me want to bring all my shoes in to get some TLC. The most comfortable pair of dress shoes I've ever had were in dire need. Hole in the sole, heels worn down, hole in right front upper, heel counter broken. Brought them to Central Shoe Repair, and - WOW - they basically rebuilt the shoes! New high quality soles and heels and perfectly stitched repairs to the other damage. I am from California and was staying at a friends house and her dog ate my favorite pair of Pikolino shoes, which were around $200.00. They are a filigree leather lace in a two tone color so I though there is no way that these can be fixed!!! I was also worried, because these are my most comfortable pair of walking shoes and I was leaving for Europe for 3 weeks, in about 10 days. She sent me to Central Shoe Repair because the same doggie ate her pair of favorite shoes. Nerick said that he felt he could salvage them, but they are very busy and since they were so damaged, he just wasn't sure that he could get them to me in time! I had been a loyal customer for years. I have had heels replaced, shoes stretched, but mostly shoes shined. Yesterday I returned to get a couple pairs of shoes shined. The owner gave me the option of getting them shined and picking them up the same day. She also did something different this time. She did not ask if I wanted to pay first and because I noticed this was different I asked about it. She tells I can pay when I pick them up. She also did not give me a claim check. I figured okay, she remembers me and I guess I don't need one. When I returned to picked them up I had my $10 ($5 a pair) ready. She then tells me it'll be $16 ($8 a pair). I was shocked and said that's a 60% increase since I was last there. She offered no apology and simply told me that the increased cost of the shoe creams she sells was the reason for it. I. DO. NOT. PURCHASE. HER. SHOE. CREAMS. and never will. I was blindsided by this increase. She knew exactly what she was doing when I dropped them off with her. She should have told me about the increase at the beginning. The shoe shine was decent , but certainly NOT worth $8 a pair. I will not be utilizing this place EVER again. BYE!!! read more

FAST, INEXPENSIVE, and HIGH QUALITY. After reading a few good reviews and comparing prices, I decided to take my 2 favorite pairs of black patent heels here. Both pairs had the heels completely worn out, lots of scuffs and a few areas where the paint had peeled off. I dropped my shoes off on a Thursday to be repaired and cleaned, and on Friday the owner called me personally to let me know my shoes were already done. Together these shoes cost me almost $260 originally, and for a $24 total repair cost, they look as good as new and are already broken in. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who wants high quality repairs and enjoys the personalized customer service of a small business. read more

Beautiful results and wonderful customer service! I brought if a pair of pale pink-nude colored leather Louboutins to see in anything could be done with them. They had water damage, wear, and discoloration. I was well educated about my options and the likely results of those options. We decided to just dye the heels black and they look amazing! We also added rubber soles. These shoes now have a second life and look beautiful. I was also educated on how to prevent such damage as well as condition leather with products at home. Recently, I found a pair of shoes online that I fell in love with! When they arrived, I found that the the strap across the instep/ ankle area was too short to close. I took my shoes to Tony's Shoe Repair at Christown/Spectrum Mall, hoping to get the closure strap lengthened and after a very frustrating 20mins or so and being told that what I wanted just could not be done, I accepted defeat and left with my shoes! I boxed them back up and was preparing to send them back to the store, when I did a search for other shoe repair places and found Central Shoe Repair! When I arrived at the repair shop, within 60 seconds, literally, she knew what I wanted and said it could absolutely be done, and then told me that they would be ready in about a week and a half. I just picked them up Saturday and was simply amazed with the craftmanship! You can hardly tell that they didn't come from the manufacturer that way! The owner of SABA's recommended this store. I was reluctant to drive all the way from Arrowhead, but I have some great cowboy boots. I took a chance and went there with one pair. I told him I had several pairs that I was going to throw away and he suggested I bring them to him when I came to pickup the first pair and he would look at them.
