I had an appointment with them at 11 am today and but the doctor never showed up after waiting for more than 35 min . This is just a wait of my time. They don't respect patients and the company is poorly managed especially for scheduling. I just realize that this happens to other patients as well. What is the point of making appointments if they can not ensure a doctor can see the patient at the scheduled time. Please DO NOT trust their schedules. I went there 10 min ahead to check in and remind them that I need to go at 11:30 when I already waited for 20 min. They said it would be my turn in the next 15 min. I've been coming here for years and now, under new ownership, I'm finding the service just as friendly and efficient. Crown is solid; diagnoses are not overzealous, cleanings are easy and informative. It's tough in Covid times, but they hang in with clean, efficient service. read more

I went in to the office with the new owner and instead of a normal cleaning, there were two hygienists who would look at my teeth and read out two numbers. No cleaning at all. When it was over, they said I had periodontal disease and I needed a super cleaning. I went to a different dentist and they said that was not true. They are not honest. read more

It's perhaps an odd thing to say about having a couple of fillings replaced, but I just had the best such experience I can remember with Dr Yang. She was meticulous and careful and communicative, just as in my prior appointment for a cleaning identifying some old fillings that needed work. I highly recommend her and this practice. read more

you need to be careful when they tell you it's a "free consultation" bc by free, they mean they will charge your insurance company who may or may not cover it. I went there for the first time a few months ago. Sat down waited 30 min past my scheduled time. Dr. apparently went out to lunch. I only know bc i saw him walking back in (and he had garlic breath). He wasn't able to do anything or give me any type of advice. The office then charged me an office visit/exam fee. I called and spoke to the manager who at first said "oh well, that's the way it is" then after I told her I'd be writing a review about this, she told me she'll speak to the Dr and try to void it out. My short-term relationship(perhaps better classified as a "what was i thinking?" friends-with-benefits sort of deal) started off just ducky. I found these guys, they're pretty close to my house, and they accept my insurance. Cool. So, I go for my cleaning, scheduled for 8:30 am. Gross. Wouldn't mind it, but I get there early and they take me late. Then the hygienist picks at my teeth for a solid 30 minutes. I'm rather confused at this new abundance of plaque, since I've always had healthy teeth and always went for a cleaning each 6 months. Then, I'm told I have two cavities. Ugh. Never had one before, but okay. Sure. So I go back for the fillings, which are totally uneven, and I'm still convinced I never needed them. Good thing I found a real dentist, who adjusted the filings and is now taking great care of my pearly whites. read more

I've been going there for a number of years. The practice changed hands and Dr. Zylber retired. Today i went for 4 x a year cleaning. After the covid precautions I was told that I needed xrays. I said that I was there for a cleaning if they found anything wrong, I'd have a X-ray but not before anyone looked in my mouth. Then the hygienist came out and said that I needed X-rays but they'd look in my mouth first. X rays aren't or shouldn't be routine. They definitely shouldn't be required before anyone even looks in your mouth. They are not benign This practice has definitely gone downhill. I can't recommend them anymore. It's sad because they do have some new good dentists there. read more

Dr. Zylber is great - he thoroughly explains the work that is being done and all of my procedures have been painless. The guidance counselor at my school works here part-time, and she recommended that I try them out (Dr. "Moose" Zylber and Anastasia, to be exact). I called yesterday to schedule an appointment and was able to get an appointment for today at 10:00 a.m. I came in early because I didn't realize how close the dentist's office was to my apartment (~5 minutes walk). Anastasia took me earlier than expected and cleaned my teeth quite thoroughly. I'd been harboring a fear of the dentist ever since my only visit to the Harvard University Health Services one in December 2007 (during which they scolded me for not biting right on the x-rays and gave me a filling which hurt for three months). Granted, I have not had a filling or had to pay for services (thank you Boston Teachers Union for giving us free cleanings), so I haven't experienced anything like the other two reviews. read more

The earlier reviews complained of insurance issues. My cleanings are covered at 100% so I did not run into those problems. Also, quite a few coworkers have gone here for years, so at this point the office is probably fairly well versed in my insurance plan. They did take me late (about 30 mins) due to an earlier patient being late and YES! that is ANNOYING! But! They did have decent magazines- trashy US Weekly & and more substantial Elle and also... I'd rather they take the time and do a thorough cleaning on ALL patients then rush just to make my life run perfectly, you know? So to break it all down... 1. I had a dentist in Hanover, MA that I LOVED!!!!!! Dr. James Lonborg. If you are on the south shore ***OR*** have a vehicle go to him!!!! OH! He is the best! But, alas I am hoping to get rid of my vehicle and I must become more self- reliant on the MBTA and oh yeah- my two feet. 2. I FEARED going to any one other than Dr. Lonborg and I feel much better about it now. I'm quite pleased with the level of service I received!!! Anastasia (hygienist) was wonderfully FRIENDLY and THOROUGH. I really got a great feeling of her aptitude and ability! 3. I used to work at a dental office as an oral surgeon assistant and folks, dental practices SCARE me. I feel more often than not dentists are bad than good and I got a nice feeling at this place. 4. Good magazines, new toothbrush, nice/knowledgeable hygienist, dentist checked out my mouth and x-rays and I am a happy camper! GO! IT'S VERY CLOSE TO CENTRAL T STOP! OFF RED LINE! read more

I've been going to Drs. Stiller and Zylber for many years. From crowns to filings to cleanings I've always appreciated their skills, honesty, and warmth. In the last year I've had two broken teeth. The dentist is nice enough. He gave me a filling that eventually came loose and needed to be replaced. The replacement filling is a little strange; my teeth aren't biting down right. The book-keeping and front office are what I have come to expect from service in Boston. I have insurance, and the office keeps not sending the claim form to the insurer, so I get billed. She blames the insurer, of course. Strange that none of my coworkers have also complained, when asked, about our insurance. Recently, in fact, my claim form (not to mention several other peoples' forms!) was mailed to ME. She insisted it must have been the insurer, again. Over the phone, she has been nothing but brusque and rude about her failings, as if I'm bothering her with her own mistakes. Such annoying patients being billed accidentally! read more

I have been a patient here for decades. I used to live in walking distance but I have moved a couple of times since those days. I never considered looking for a dentist closer to home and the following is why. The staff is great at always sending a reminder card and calling a few days in advance as they know my schedule is unpredictable. From cleanings to fillings and even a couple of crowns their service has been fantastic. Whenever I come in for a cleaning and an exam I also get to catch up with Dr Zylber(aka Moose). Chatting about what's new and where my tours have taken me feels like catching up with family. Today was an unexpected visit due to an old crown coming loose on a candy bar. Thankfully they managed to get me in the chair within a few hours and I got me right back in the game. Professional and caring. read more

Overall, the office and the people were all nice, but the cleaning and such were kind of rough. My appointment was scheduled quickly and all the paperwork was easily done in advance. They were highly vigilant about taking Covid precautions, even when it's almost July 2021 and everybody seems to be relaxing. I really appreciated this. I had to wait a few minutes, but once started the everything was done very quickly. Some of this review might be skewed due to the fact that my last dentist appointment was with a children's doctor and they were quite gentle there. The xray equipment was not at all comfortable sitting in my mouth and required an odd balancing act and forcing my tongue out of the way and digging into the roof and floor of my mouth. It definitely works though, the xrays were perfect. I've never had somebody dig into my gums the way that happened today and I was wincing pretty frequently and there was some mild bleeding. My teeth and mouth felt super clean, as they should, at the end of the cleaning. The fluoride treatment at the the end of the appointment was slapped on and got all over my lips. I am going back to get a filling done, so I will decide after that experience if this will be my permanent dentist office or not. read more

I had high hopes for this dental office, and unfortunately, they weren't met to the level I would have liked. Whenever I go in for a check-up, I always get harangued about the fact that I am supposed to take some kind of antibiotic before coming in even for a cleaning because of a heart condition (not serious) that I had when I was a kid. My doctor has told me time and again that it's not an issue anymore, and hasn't been for a long time in the medical profession. Seems like the office should know this. They don't seem to care. Also, the last time I went in for a cleaning, the hygienist tried to prescribe me some prescription toothpaste, which I can guarantee you I don't need. Sixteen dollars? And she keeps bugging me to get an electric toothbrush, which okay, I finally did, and I love it. BUT she recommended certain brands to me, and it felt like she was being sponsored by certain companies. Same thing when it came to mouthwash. Dr. Zylber told me I had two cavities in the back of my mouth, which I got filled the other day. I was nervous and asked for novocaine, which he said I wouldn't need--he could do the process painlessly. I'll hand it to him--he did just that. It was almost relaxing. Then, when I was about to get out of the chair, he said there are a couple more we could fill later, but that they're grooves that food can get stuck in. Um, so they're not actually cavities? I'd prefer not to pay for fillings that are unnecessary. I've only had two tiny cavities in my life before this, and I find it hard to believe that all of a sudden, these "grooves" need filling. Interesting that Sara had the opposite experience. Anyway, they're fine, but I'm wary of the groove-filling thing. You could probably find a better dental office. read more

Today was my first appointment at the clinic, my colleagues from the City of Cambridge strongly recommended them to me. Since, they are right in the neighborhood closer to our work. Honestly, it was a disappointment. My first appointment with them was postponed due to COVID-19 from May, 2020. I called and the office manager Allison told me everything has been push back and they will call me back. I waited and waited nothing, but heard from my colleague that they been calling her to go in for her cleaning. Apparently, they started back up in June. I called them right away and was given an appointment. I went in for my first appointment today, I wasn't told I have to fill out a bunch forms which I could of done electronically prior to my appointment. Took 15mins to read and signed them. I had an hour lunch break for my appointment, but with the paperwork and X-Ray, I only got a 15mins cleaning session for my teeth. And no goodie bag with mini floss and tooth brush. :( Super sad. read more

If I could give this practice a zero I absolutely would. Dr Ernest Yizigi is dangerous egomaniac. I have not been able to eat for the last three weeks since he prepared my molar for a crown. First, the temp crown popped out three hours after placing it on. I went into the office to have Dr. Yang place it back on. *I will add that he treated my face and jaw like an object, contorting it in Waze that I have not experienced before by any dentist. It felt wrong.* Dr. Yang gave me antibiotics because I had developed an infection which I presume happened after he dropped the temporary crown on the floor as he was preparing it because it Seemed that he only blew air on it to clean it off before placing it in my mouth. I called two days later, spoke to Kelly, his rude receptionist, to say I was unable to eat anything on the other side and in constant pain to which he told me " was too bad and shouldn't be the case... I did good work- text book. Let's wait to see what happens over the weekend". I was left me to suffer because he was gaslighting me. I spoke to his assistant first thing Monday morning and she was just as dismissive and refused to refund me the money citing that they did textbook work and are not responsible for the pain I was in. Dr. Yazigi never followed up with me. I was left with no other choice but to seek out another dentist who performed an emergency root canal. He noted that the root canal should have been done before the crown and Dr. Yazigi had stripped my tooth off all the enamel which is needed for a crown to bond onto. Dr. Yazig's "innovative work" tapered the walls of my tooth making it impossible for a crown of any kind to reliably stay in for any amount of time. The dentist concluded that Dr. Yazigi should have paid attention to the fact that I was in pain (of any kind), had an infection, and was wrong to ignore it. This is called pain free dentistry for a reason. Ernest Yazigi claims to be an artist on the website, but he is simply a hack ego maniac who does not care about your experience and will gaslight you to preserve his self-image. He was wrong! He refuses to even apologize for allow me to suffer under his "care". He shouldn't have a license to practice dentistry. Dr. Ernest Yazigi is Dangerous. TAKE YOUR HEALTH SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

dental work -- even/especially cleanings -- is always really hard for me because i have sensitive teeth and gums, i've had recession and tissue grafting and periodontal specialists before, and cleanings typically hurt. i also move so often for work that i am always in search of a dentist office that is mindful of that. i always call ahead and make sure they have numbing mouthwash (which works wonders for cleanings for people with sensitive teeth) and central square dentist did and is covered by my insurance. my appointment was today and it was a dream. i felt so cared for, the hygienist checked in with me at every step, she used both numbing mouthwash and topical numbing gel, so nothing at all hurt, and the dentist is super kind and helpful. it is so rare that going to the dentist is a pleasant experience, and not a crying mess, but today really was. read more

I have been going to Dr. Gary Stiller's Pleasant Street Dental Office for the past twenty years. Dr. Stiller is the best dentist I ever had. He is caring, competent and kind. My past dental experiences were traumatic until I came to Dr. Stiller's office. The atmosphere in his office from the receptionist to the dental hygienist make going to the dentist a "pleasant" experience and the music is great! I've been seeing Dr. "Moose" for over 20 years now, and have been perfectly satisfied. All the work he's done for me has gone without a hitch. Everything from fillings to crowns. Even my periodontist was impressed by his work. About 10 years ago, he pulled out a wisdom tooth. The next day he called to see if I was OK. It's the little things like that, along with excellent dental care that keep me coming back. In reading the negative reviews, I find it hard to believe anyone would not be satisfied with their excellent and friendly service. If Moose didn't have all that stuff in my mouth, we'd all probably talk non-stop during the whole visit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone. read more

Before I met Dr. Zylber and his assistants, I approached trips to the dentist as if I were about to get dumped. I know I drink enough enamel-destroying diet soda & teeth-blackening coffee to single-handedly keep Coke & Starbucks in business. And I know that only punks show up to early morning appointments still eating a breakfast sandwich. But can't I get some love for the semi-consistent flossing and the quasi-obsessive brushing? Yes I can and Dr. Zylber & his cast of wonderful hygienists certainly knew how to dish it out. They were kind and efficient and didn't hassle me over my caffeine addiction or pre-dentist-bread-munching. After a thorough cleaning, I got some very friendly suggestions on the best toothbrushes and recommendations optional follow-up work. Not once did I feel pressured or lectured. It was like a wonderfully run break-up! The only reason I took off a star is because the services are a little on the pricier side. And possibly because I want to keep this little dental gem to myself.... read more

I've been going to Dr. Zylber for 3 years for cleanings and checkups. I also had some bonding work done on my front teeth. The hygenist staff are great - efficient and pleasant. I've never had any issues with the doctor or any of the staff. It's always easy to get an appointment and billing seems efficient and straightforward. I would recommend this practice to anybody. However, I haven't had a cavity in 3 years, so I can't speak to the actual dental work that they do, other than the bonding, which looks great (if i may say so myself). If you say you use a SonicCare they will give you brownie points, which are not redeemable for cash, as it turns out. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Zylber (known to all as Dr Moose!) for my whole life. He is a very sweet and kind man with charming ways. He will sing along with the radio sometimes as he works. He has great small hands- I have a small mouth so that's vital! The hygienists are also really nice and have all been there for years. Can't comment on Dr Stiller, the other dentist- but Dr Moose won't make you get a procedure unless you really need it, and he will work with you on payment options. I love Dr. Stiller and the hygenist Anastasia. I have no enamel on my teeth and lots of little grooves which my former dentist had always told me were not a problem so long as they did not worsen. After he retired, I spent about 8 years looking for a dentist I liked. Every new dentist I went to told me I had a ton of cavities, which struck me as odd because I'd only ever had one in my life and take very good care of my teeth and so I always refused to get them filled. I was so relieved when Dr. Stiller acknowledged the grooves in my teeth without feeling like he needed to fill them with metal. The hygenist is very thorough and personable. I like that she spends at least a full 20 minutes on my teeth and I don't feel like I'm being rushed in or out. She did offer me product, but I really didn't get the feeling she was doing it out of some sort of corporate sponsorship or anything, more like her personal recommendation. My only complaint about this place is the front desk receptionist. She kind of scares the poop out of me. Sometimes she is friendly and then other times she is so short with me that I have walked out of there on the verge of tears. read more

Just had my wisdom teeth operation done by Dr Stiller whom I believe is semi-retired. Very impressed by his professionalism and experience - apparently he has been doing this for 35 years. All three wisdom teeth were taken out within one hour with hardly any pain. Definitely recommended! read more

This is an excellent dental practice led by Dr. Zylber who is truly amazing and compassionate. Dr. Yazigi has been a great addition and performed a tooth implant procedure on me earlier this year. I have gone to Dr. Zylber for decades and have always been perfectly happy with the care and treatment I received in his office. HOWEVER, When I went last fall, the hygienist told me she was leaving and I noticed other staff changes. Then, for the first time ever, there was a mix-up on my bill (an issue of about $200) and which took several calls, attempted faxes and finally mailing (twice) copies of my bill and check to straighten out. This carelessness with which this problem was managed (though there was an apology at the end) was not a deal-breaker but made me wonder what was going on. Yesterday, I was there to have my teeth cleaned. The hygienist (new?) was rough and seemed rushed. When I protested, she was condescending, trying to argue me out of my discomfort. But there was no apology, and even when I told her I had never been so thoroughly uncomfortable having my teeth cleaned, she proceeded as before; at that point I felt I couldn't trust her skill and nearly left. My past experiences in this office have always been as pleasant as one can have under the circumstances. But yesterday, my thoroughly uncomfortable and unpleasant experience with this hygienist was the last straw and I won't be returning.
