I had a few special requests due to me sharing my burger with my dog and they did not disappoint. The shake was really good. Blended well. I had raspberry and Oreo cookie. It would've been nice to taste a little more raspberry in the shake. They pride themselves on using fresh raspberries and that is the reason. Fresh fruit mixed with dairy tampons the tartness and dulls a lot of the sweetness.. I believe macerating some raspberries and sugar and finishing with some fresh lemon zest or even a little lemon juice and adding that to the fresh raspberries would knock it out of the park. I put it on the floorboard so my dog wouldn't get at it and accidentally knocked it over. It was so thick that only the huge amount that sticks out of the cup touched the floor mat. Awesome!!!!!!! I got the biggest burger they had. A half pound with two kinds of cheese and pastrami burger. It wasn't called a pastrami burger so I'm not gonna complain that it's just one thick slice. It was more like how you would add bacon to a burger. All the veggies were super fresh. Their choice of bun is the best bun I've had since my road trip began a week ago. Here's my opinion on the burger. The burger had no beef flavor. The only flavor came from the wonderful charcoal grill marks on the burger. Don't be afraid of salt. It's a chef's favorite condiment. The biggest complaint and my only true complaint is that the burgers have a horrible texture to them. Like two quarter pounds of beef breakfast sausage. Not good. If somehow it is how ground I'd recommend using a smaller die and leaving out the transglutaminase. Dog loved it. Would I come again? I sure would. Mos Def

To give some context, I had been struggling with depression and having a particularly difficult day. My husband thought getting me out of the house, taking a scenic drive to Bear Lake, and treating me to one of my favorite comfort foods, cheese dip from this restaurant, might help lift my spirits. The drive was beautiful despite the rainy weather, and for the first time all day I actually started feeling a little better. That feeling disappeared the moment we walked into the restaurant. The restaurant was not busy, yet my family stood at the host stand for quite a while without being acknowledged. Employees were nearby, but no one greeted us or even let us know someone would be with us shortly. While we were waiting, a server spoke with a gentleman behind the host stand. Immediately afterward, a group seated near the entrance was moved to a different table. We were then seated at the exact table they had just vacated. The silverware was still disheveled from the previous guests, and it became obvious why they had asked to move. Every time the front door opened, cold air blew directly onto the table. Seeing that there were at least eight or nine open tables throughout the restaurant, I politely asked our server if we could also move. Her response was that her boss said we could not. Thinking there must be some misunderstanding, I looked around at all the empty tables and asked if there really was not another table available. She explained it would be outside of her section. As someone who has worked as a server myself, I understand section assignments. However, this restaurant is very small, and the alternative tables were only a short distance away. It was not a matter of a long walk across a large dining room. The part that really bothered me was the attitude. The request was met with annoyance rather than understanding. After refusing, the server abruptly responded, "No, so what do you want to drink?" At that point, we decided to leave. We calmly gathered our three children and walked out. No one apologized, no one asked if there was a way to make things right, and no one seemed to care that a family was leaving. What makes this especially disappointing is why we came in the first place. We had driven 2.5 hours specifically to visit this restaurant because my husband was trying to help pull me out of a difficult slump. We were not looking for anything special, just a warm meal, a comfortable table, and a pleasant experience. Instead, we were treated like a nuisance for making a simple request in a nearly empty restaurant. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the combination of poor hospitality, dismissive service, and a complete lack of concern for the customer experience left a lasting impression, and unfortunately not a good one.

Loved this family restaurant so much that we came back the very next night!…read moreThe first night we had the prime rib (absolutely out of this world) and the ribeye steak--both were outstanding. The French fries were delicious, and don't leave without buying a couple of jars of their amazing raspberry jelly that comes with their fresh-baked dinner rolls. It's that good! The second night we tried the fish and chips and the chicken Parmesan, and both were incredible. The portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and every meal we had was absolutely delicious. If you're looking for great comfort food and friendly service, this place is a must-visit!

Even during the winter there was a bit of a wait on Saturday night 6pm. We called ahead and made a reservation for 5 and they were ready for us and sat us right away. The service was very friendly and helpful, but didn't offer much in the way of advice on what to order. And didn't clear our plates until we stacked them at the edge of the table. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye steak MR. It was cooked properly but not even 1/2 inch thick and the flavor was okay. I would not consider this a $30 steak or even close. My daughter had the 6 oz sirloin and it was almost as big as mine. She said it was just okay. 2/5 My son had a burger, which was good.3/5 My wife had the Coba Chicken which had good flavor and a little kick. 3/5 Coconut shrimp 4/5 Fries, big chip curly fries, I thought they were quite good and yes they have fry sauce. 4/5 We tried two desserts. Molten lava cake, didn't seem fresh but frozen and heated up 2/5. Cheesecake 3/5 Overall a fun little diner with decent food. Nice to have something open in the midd of winter. We'd come back again.
