This was an experience. We had a bunch of kids with us so we ordered a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza. Pretty normal order, right? It shows up as half pepperoni and half feta cheese. And I'm not talking a little feta, it was COVERED in feta. None of our kids would even touch it. So that was a waste. And then since they messed something up, they offered us free dessert, which was a nice gesture. But the dessert took forever and we were ready to leave. We would have rather had a new pizza made. Normally not the type to leave bad reviews I get people have bad days. Although I was very disappointed with our food and service. My boyfriend had gotten a Montana sandwich asked no tomato the server had brought us our food and there was tomato in the sandwich. The server had made it right with us but then when we closed out the server had gypped us. Our total was 33.36$ we had givin him 40.00$ cash he then came back with 4$ cash. I placed on online order saying my food would be done by 7:17. Got half the order complete after I arrived (7:20) and it's now 8:02pm and I'm waiting for three more things to be made. I get that it's Memorial Day weekend but either cancel online ordering or take ownership of being late. An HOUR of waiting for my food (which I had to correct three times with three employees who were handwriting my order again for the kitchen) is ridiculous. Dropped it near the end of a crazy dinner rush. Had about a 10min wait for a table to open up. By the time we ordered and our food came, many tables were emptying out. By the time we finished, the place was nearly empty. We ordered a large pizza and one pizookie (can't remember what they call them here). Both were great! My BBQ chicken pizza was slathered in a very sweet sauce (not at all spicy), and as the picture shows the crust was very floury and flavorless. We arrived right at opening time and were their first customers, so we were seated promptly. Two stray cats nearly followed us inside and they ended up being a funny part of our experience as we watched them through the window. For a group of 7, our service was accommodating and our food came out in a very timely manner. The wings were pretty average buffalo wings, a bit small in size but super saucy. There's the good stuff! Now for the okay things. Their pizza menu is extensive but the pizza itself was pretty bland in flavor and the crust was very thick. Our jalapeños weren't cooked and there were lots of seeds on them so we ended up picking them off, but our friend's pizza with ranch as sauce looked pretty good. I didn't catch the name of the tall, dark-haired kid that served us, but he was very attentive and helpful with suggestions, since we had never eaten here before. We ordered the 8 cheese garlic bread, it was good. Perfect size for our party of 9. The Alfredo dipping sauce was really good, better than the marinara. After a day at the beach, we were looking forward to some tasty pizza from the firehouse. We ordered for take out the combo, a cheese pizza with pepperoni and sausage and some cheesy bread were sorely disappointed in how the description totally missed the target from the pizza that we received. You can see that they put some meat and veggies in the center of the pizza and called it good. There wasn't even all that much cheese as they emphasize in their descriptions. It wasn't all that much meat and they definitely skimped on the veggies for the combo. I hope they didn't make this right with my brother and sister-in-law tomorrow who even left them a tip after picking up the pizzas. Here's the quick and dirty on Firehouse Pizza: I've been visiting Bear Lake in the summers for a decade plus. Me and fam avoided Firehouse for years, because well, it just kinda lacked the lake town charm we look for on weekend holiday, and with the adjacent motel, it's always been a lackluster option (and slightly shady) from a marketing perspective. All that being said ... after a decade of greasy burger joint fare and raspberry shakes, me and my crew were craving pizza for the first time ever while in GC. Inside ... that lackluster vibe I referenced is alive and well. The place needs a serious facelift. It feels like the unloved corner of Pizza Hut where they have the 1-2 lone tables for the famished that can't wait to indulge on pizza until they get home. All that being said .. the pizza, salad, and ranch are excellent. Like, truly YUM. Next time we'll probably order to go and eat al fresco on the beach. Firehouse Pizzeria in Garden City is a disappointment. We ordered four pizzas and cheese bread and the pizzas were doughy and under baked. Toppings and cheese were OK but kind of thrown on top haphazardly. Although it was a busy Saturday evening, they seated us right away which was appreciated. We had several hungry adults and kids in our large group. The seating was a little unusual though, plastic picnic tables on a scraggly, overgrown lawn, but it was pleasant to be outside and not inside the stuffy, hot restaurant. Our server, a young women, was terrific and took good care of us. If you're hankering for pizza while vacationing at Bear Lake, I'd encourage you to look elsewhere.
