This project involved asbestos decontamination. A four-person crew spent an entire day at our home, yet the results did not reflect the time spent. When I raised concerns, Allen, the project manager, assured me that he trusted his guys that the work had been completed properly. However, after the job was finished, we found fingerprints on windows, crumbs on counters, and dirt throughout the house, indicating that cleanup was not completed to an acceptable standard. When we brought our concerns, CVE initially planned to send another crew. After we requested certification details, Allen discovered the workers assigned to our project were not certified, and a different two-person crew was sent instead. Most concerning was Allen's comment that there was "probably not a lot of asbestos" because only a small section of linoleum had been cut. As parents of a one-year-old, we found this response dismissive, unprofessional, and troubling. It gave the impression that our safety concerns were not being taken seriously, despite the nature of the work and the potential health risks involved. Neither crew appeared to treat contamination control with the level of care expected for asbestos remediation. We observed no masks or PPE being worn, and a fan directly above the affected area was not addressed during cleanup. They were hired to check for mold and remediate. They said one thing while at the property and then wrote a proposal with completely different information. They performed a "remediation" that didn't take care of the mold problem at all and tried to tell me that my health issues and allergies were probably just from my dog (no one in my family is allergic to the dog we've had for 8 years). I then hired another company to come out that did an actual investigation and found toxic mold in 13 areas of the home. They will make it sound like you are being taken care of, but they are lying. read more

We had major smoke damage from the Glass Fire last week. We called CVE and they responded immediately. The Staff was professional, organized, clean and well prepared. We met with Jesus and he measure the amount of smoke in the house. they deployed air scrubbers that night. The crew arrived on time, with all equipment and began making the smoke damage disappear. They were able to clean the HVAC ducts in order for us to use the A/C since it was hot. They all were wearing masks and communicated the plan to clean. Over the next few days, the crew was diligent in cleaning and our home smells GREAT! They cleaned up after themselves and were outstanding in all phases of the repairs. I had a ceiling fall during a storm in October. I have been working with another company, but that wasn't going so well. There were signs of water damage in my kitchen. The other company was offering to take down that ceiling and cabinets or just go through the crawl space. But, couldn't recommend one option more than another. I called CVE for a second opinion. The bid and communication process were great. They had the best bid and comprehensive services I required (removal of a wood-burning stove in addition to asbestos abatement). Unfortunately, where the company loses stars is the work crew. Frank came in the morning to do the job. He was on time, actually a little bit early at 7:45 AM. Great! I had a quick chat with him, unlocked the doors and showed him what was to be removed per the proposal, where electricity could be found (since some circuits were off), and the hose bib for water. I also told him to call me when they were done so I could come back and review and lock up. He even confirmed my phone number. They were removing asbestos, so obviously I didn't want to be around while they were doing the work - also because I couldn't, per the contract. The end of the day comes along (5 PM) and still no call. I decide to take a drive to the property that was having the work done and the front door was wide open. Back doors, wide open. Sliding patio doors, wide open. A half-dozen windows, also wide open. Frank was no where to be seen. The removal was done per the proposal and nothing toxic was left behind! I walked around, closed the doors and windows and went to the bathroom to wash my hands. The crew stole my brand new liquid soap pump! Sure, it was only $2 worth of soap, but it's the principle of the matter! Someone has sticky fingers. Frank and crew basically left my house doors unlocked and all open and stole my full soap pump. I'll be honest; I don't really trust the "remediation industry." When you listen to some of them, it's hard to believe that civilization has survived lead paint, mold and asbestos. So the challenge is to find someone in this space that's honest. I think that I did, when I hired Glenn Accornero and Central Valley Environmental. I didn't just contact this one company; I reached-out to 4 or 5, total. Thinking that Bay Area companies would be overpriced, I included Sacramento in my search. I spoke with some people that I really liked, but wow - their pricing was expensive. Then I received CVE's quote: it was the lowest. Now we all know that taking the lowest quote is a gamble, but I was OK with the risk. Maybe the job would get delayed and delayed, maybe the cleanup would be half-assed. I hired Central Valley Environmental to do some asbestos abatement on a home I recently purchased. Hector Obregon and his team came to do the job and they went above and beyond. I had an old gravity furnace with octopus ducting and not only did they remove the ducts, they also offered to remove the old duct vent covers. In order to remove them, they had to cut into the walls, which was fine by me because I will be remodeling my home extensively in addition to getting a new furnace (which will be in a different location than the original). I will contact them in the future for further abatement (as the renovation will likely uncover more) and I will request Hector by name! read more

Central Valley team did an overall great job doing a demo for a garage with lead-based paint. They were extremely prompt and understood our need for a quick turn around time. Staff is very friendly. If there were half starts they would get a 4.5. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because with any renovation there are city regulations. I had to dig pretty hard to get information from the city. Being experts in the field, it would have been nice if Central Valley had been a little more helpful with tips and making sure we were on the right track with the permit. Otherwise, I will use the company again and I do recommend them. read more
