Work with Brian! My wife and I were looking for new wood floors. We had driven up and down Hwy 50 and checked out different shops. Then we tried Central Valley Floor Design. Especially if you live in El Dorado Hills or nearby, this shop is awesome, close, and has a huge selection. It's right in the El Dorado Hills Business Park a little down the road from Town Center. They have great weekend hours too. We met Brian Beaver and he helped steer us towards 4-5 samples based on what we were looking for. So, I need to first share a short disappointing story, but I promise it has a GREAT ending: Originally, I was waiting for a different flooring company to come over to evaluate & quote both our bathroom floors. These two bathrooms had W-to-W carpet (not a fan of W-to-W carpets in bathrooms.) I scheduled w/ the different company 1 to 2 weeks in advance for a quote and made other plans accordingly. On the day of, the other company was supposed to come over as scheduled but they were already delinquent 1/2 an hour. Instead, I get a phone call from one of their field techs asking me if they could change the meeting time, made excuses on why they couldn't come on time, etc... Instead of getting angry, I made an excuse and said, "let me get back to you..." NOT - cynical/ devious I know, but I am tired of those types of companies not properly calling in advance and rescheduling accordingly. In the meantime, I politely hung up with the infamous field tech, went on YELP, and started looking for 5-star flooring companies. I noticed this: CENTRAL VALLEY FLOOR DESIGN company, I called and spoke with Ben S. (S - For Savior-lol); I explained my situation, and that same day, NO JOKE, Ben came out - evaluated, and quoted my floors, and later that day we tentatively agreed on a floor type, even went to their showroom days later and looked at other alternatives and decided on the original floor type. No pressure, no bad attitudes, no excuses, and in my opinion the price was fair. We had a very pleasant experience! So, my bride and I scheduled for them to come out in a few weeks because of schedule conflicts. CENTRAL VALLEY FLOOR DESIGN field techs came out as planned and on time, and completed both bathrooms in one day, with no issues. We were VERY, VERY HAPPY with the product and my wife received her early Christmas present. If I could give more stars I would. Sure wish our experience matched others, but unfortunately it didn't come close. Went into their showroom to look around. Wandered around aimlessly for a while, without seeing a single person, until we finally met up with Brian. He gave us a very quick rundown of their samples. I tried to explain a bit about what we were looking for (we're replacing all the carpet and tile flooring throughout our house), when Brian cut me off to go pick up the phone.....he never returned. STRIKE ONE. Made an appointment with Collin to come measure our house, to provide an estimate. He came and went very quickly, promising to provide the estimate within the next couple of days. Waited a week, and never received that estimate. Still haven't. STRIKE TWO. I decided to reach out directly to Collin and check on the status of the estimate...ZERO response. STRIKE THREE. Perhaps I could understand their lack of enthusiasm if we had a small project on our hands, but replacing the flooring in an entire house is fairly significant, as far as I'm concerned. Me not being worth their time was probably a blessing in disguise, as I'm sure working with these guys wouldn't be worth mine. read more

This is a small family run business and they do excellent work. We have an old A-frame house that had old nasty carpeting. We wanted to go from carpeting to a hard floor- turns out that's not as easy as you might think! Collin did our measuring and pricing and helped figure out how to deal with some of the complex parts of the house. Collin did installs for a long time and that's exactly who you want measuring because his knowledge of installation is invaluable. Mike and Kurtis did the install and they were very courteous, easy to communicate with, and hard workers. I have nothing but good things to say about the whole team. We purchased wall to wall carpet from Ben at CVFD- he was very helpful selecting carpet based on quality , durability, warranty, value and color selection. Ben was so helpful with that purchase that we have since purchased and received an area rug from CVFD- as their selection was exemplary compared to other stores. We moved into our home in 2016 and were the third owners. It is in many respects a beautiful home, but the carpeting on the staircase looked like it was here before the house was built. We had other improvements we needed to make before we could tackle that but we finally got to the stairs this year. We had already met Benjamin at Central Valley Floor Design when we were looking for other floor options and went to see him when it was time to replace the stairs carpeting. Ben showed us several solutions that would work. The hardest part was picking the right color to match our entry way tile and the predominant paint colors in that part of the house. After several trips to and from Central Valley with a ton of different samples, we finally made our selection and ordered the carpet. Benjamin came and re-measured our stairs to make sure that we ordered enough carpeting for the job. Central Valley then sent Derrick to do the installation and we couldn't be happier with the final results. Derrick found a few minor issues with our stair case that he fixed so that the rug would fit like a glove. The carpet is beautiful and the installation is absolutely perfect. Someday, we will have to replace the carpeting in our bedrooms and we'll be heading back to Central Valley Floor Design. Superb service, quality and expertise! Backstory: After ordering and paying for carpet from the big-box "orange" place, I was told our carpet would be installed 1 month later. 4 days before install, their subcontractor called and said our carpet was on backorder and would be another 3 weeks. I was very unhappy. Installing carpet in a home you live in is much like moving, so it's not like you can just do it anytime. After much discussion I was assured it would be installed in 3 weeks, but low and behold, the day before it was to be installed, I was told once again the carpet was late and wouldn't be installed until November 4th! (I ordered and paid for the carpet August 28th. Nearly 3 months waiting for carpet!?) Needless to say I was done, and went to the store for a refund. I will say that the carpet people at the Folsom location were very sympathetic and refunded our $ swiftly. So I reached out to Central Valley Floor and Mike helped me find the perfect carpet for our home, (which was surprisingly priced similar to the "big-box" store!) He ordered our carpet on Wednesday, called me the following Tuesday to say it was in, and arrived Friday to install it! Holy cow! 1 week to order, receive and install! It looks beautiful and his crew, who were extremely friendly and professional, did an amazing job moving all our furniture without harming anything and left the job site clean! If you're in the market for any type of flooring, I strongly advise giving Mike and his team a call or a visit, (their showroom is beautiful!), you will not be disappointed. A+++! We had hardwood flooring installed when we bought our house before moving in. It's not likely to be the least expensive option but they were much more knowledgeable about flooring and the products than other places we talked to. I had a very tight window to install carpet in the new house before our move. Home Depot had more than a month wait and other places weren't much better. Ben was able to schedule the install on the exact day we wanted and the price was very competitive as well. Derek was our installer and he did an amazing job installing carpet, left us with enough remnants for future repairs and he also fixed a sunken floor by removing the carpet, leveling the base board with the filler and restored the original carpet. The rate for repair was very reasonable as well. Throughout the move, we had to deal with several contractors and the Central Valley Floor Design gave me by far the best experience. Central Valley Floor Design (I dealt with Anthony, who is wonderful), SAVED ME. We closed SO late on our house and so we had less than 2 weeks to finalize everything. That included painting AT LEAST my daughter's bedroom (I had planned to do all 3 bedrooms but we had only 1 day to do any painting due to poorly timed business trips and a wedding) and having all 3 upstairs bedrooms carpeted. I contacted them and they responded right away and said they could PROBABLY get my floors done before my movers came, but it was going to be tight and I needed to get over there ASAP. I jumped in my car and flew like the wind. I looked at maybe 3 samples, and said "this one seems great." Anthony let me take them all with me and followed me to the new house to do the measurements right then and there. Incredible customer service. He helped me pick the right color, sent me the quote that night, and said they would get it done. The day of the install- the day before my move, he called me with some bad news that the carpet would not be arriving until late that afternoon. He knew I was under a time crunch and said he had his guys in there at that moment doing all the haul away and tear down of the old carpet, and he would have them in there first thing the next morning. I was a little anxious, but I knew it would take a little while for our movers to pack up our old house, so I tried not to worry. Anthony called me just a few hours later and said he'd convinced his guys to come do the install at 6AM!!!! I felt this huge weight lifted right off my shoulders. I can't even begin to express how much of a relief it was to know our carpets would be installed by the time we moved in. And they were, and they're beautiful. Thank you so much!!! I always try to use and support local businesses. Recently built a new office. The only glitch was the carpet install. Central Valley has dragged their feet to resolve but has had no problem demanding to be paid, including a pending lien. t have been paid 50% in good faith. I am contacting the State Contractors Board. I feel compelled to warn anyone considering using this business. There are many other choices. They were very knowledgeable and patient in the sales process, fantastic communications throughout, and both the carpet and wood floor installation teams were top notch, professional and very very clean. We had all the carpet in our home removed and replaced with some wood and some carpet. The wood had to interface with some tile, which they did an amazingly great job with that difficult transition. Kudos to both the carpet team and Mike and the hardwood team. And I cannot say enough about the sales person, Colin. From beginning to end, including fantastic follow up after the job was done and paid for!!! We did get a quote from a national chain franchise which we assumed would be cheaper. Turns out they were way more expensive, far less knowledgeable and professional, and didn't use their own employees for the installation. We had three other companies provide estimates for engineered hardwood floors; theirs was priced competitively, but Brian's knowledge and customer service were what gave us confidence that it would be best to go with them. It was the right decision! The installers were expert craftsmen in the installation of hardwood floors. They solved the technical challenges that arose (such as where the hardwood abutted a rough slate entry). No one will ever know there was an issue because their solution was so well executed.
