I had a water leak behind my fridge that had been going on for a while. Called SAWS flooring and Denny came out to take a look at the damage. I thought I was going to have to replace all the flooring in the house. Denny pulled up the flooring, inspected the floor joist to determine what needed to be done. After pulling up the floor I was relieved that the damage was not as bad as I thought and it could be repaired. Denny spent time going over with me on how to dry the wet wood, spray it with a solution to prevent mold, and told me he would be back in a. couple of days to see how it was drying out. Denny came back out and the wood was dry and the floor was ready to be back installed. Denny installed the flooring, did the dry wall work that needed to be done made sure everything fit perfectly. He did an amazing job repairing my floors. Denny was honest and told me he could repair the floor instead of saying he needed to sell me new flooring. Excellent Experience! We replaced the wood, tile and carpet in our house with Luxury Vinyl Planks through SAWS. Initially, I planned on replacing the carpet and tile only in the bedrooms of our house. However, prior to the installation being completed, I had scheduled the entire house to be done! So glad we went with SAWS flooring to get our laminate floors done. The estimate was nearly half of what Home Depot had quoted us and with higher quality material. The showroom had many options and Denny was very patient with my indecisiveness in what color to go with. I was able to borrow samples multiple times, and he gave multiple quotes for whenever I changed my mind with no pressure. Joe and his crew completed the job in 2 days and went above and beyond my expectations. They were very thorough and total perfectionists! Kept everything very tidy and cleaned up after themselves. I love that they put down quarter round molding around the all the cabinets and finished the doorways which I wasn't expecting. My neighbors had their laminate flooring done from Lowe's (same square footage but paid 3k more) and a small gap was left around the cabinets. Lowe's told them it's because it's a floating floor so I was expecting the same. I was charged for a service that was not acceptable, within months floor was separating definitely not industry standard and told I initial contact saying I was ok with this although I paid at least 2 dollars more square foot thenI should have because company was recommended to me and it was hopefully going to avoid exactly what ended up happening. We did not have a good experience. Probably best not to say more after looking at the intimidation tactics used against another reviewer (willingness to publish their personal information, etc). Maybe thats the reason that only glowing reviews apear here? That's not good yelp etiquette. Most owners just say, "Hey, reach out to us and we'll make this right." Even if the review is unfair, the good reviews will make up for it. People are smart enough to understand how yelp works. Yelp exists to give customers a voice and trying to censor that voice is short-sited in my opinion. Maybe that wasn't the intention of the owner, to intimidate an unsatisfied reviewer, but offering to publish a woman's estimate and contact could even be dangerous. Anyone can install flooring, it's not that hard. But when there are problems, then you have to deal with the company. Response: I am being purposely vague after seeing how you dealt with the only other person that dared to give a bad review. I did deal with you personally and you were unprofessional and dismissive. My hope is that you take conflict resolution more seriously. read more

I loved their work. They finished the job of over 1000sqft of laminate flooring in just over 2 days. His crew was on time and very professional. Cleaned after themselves and moved our furniture carefully. We actually did not like any of the laminate samples he showed us but he directed us to one of his suppliers and we were able to choose one we liked, the price we liked and had installed. The work started within a week after we told him what we wanted. Pretty quick. And his quote was actually way cheaper than the others that came and gave us estimates (we had 4 estimates including him). My only complaint was Denny did not even show up throughout the whole installation, though the foreman was great. I guess he was on vacation, which I do not have any problem with. Unfortunately, we had some questions and he is hard to contact, even by his crew. I also asked for the warranty of their work but he just replied about the warranty of the material. He was very responsive before the start of the work, but not so much afterwards. I would still recommend him. The quality of the job speaks volume. Hopefully, he won't be like any other company that raises their prices like crazy. I still wish to hopefully give him my business in the future. I saw an ad for Sacramento Area Wood Specialists (SAWS) on Craigslist and asked that they give me a quote to remove about 800 sq. ft. of carpet and replace it with wood laminate. I got about 3 bids and the final one was with Denny at SAWS. He went out of his way to come on a Saturday morning before another job he was working on. He was very patient with all my questions and had lots of samples in his truck to show us. He measured everything and was on his way in about 15 minutes. We got the quote later that day and it was very, very fair. Denny came in way under the other 3 bids. Although I liked that Denny came in lower than the other bids, I was a little skeptical as I thought that there had to be a catch with the price being so competitive. I went ahead and pulled the trigger hoping that even if the job wasn't going to look as clean as if I went with a more expensive option, anything was better than having carpet anyway, so I agreed and asked Denny to replace my flooring. Denny asked about my timeline and I asked for the soonest available date. He gave me a date two weeks away and I asked him if he could get something sooner, which he did. He squeezed me to about 5 days from when he gave me the quote, which I accepted. Denny's crew came in when they said they were going to come in and were very efficient in their work. I came in after the work was done and was FLOORED (pun intended) the floor was absolutely PERFECT! Another contractor who came in after the work was done to bid on another job I had complimented me on the floors and said whoever did the flooring did a really, really good job. I wholeheartedly agree. I'm so happy and thankful that I chose SAWS for my flooring needs and I was a little hesitant to write this review because I didn't want the secret to be out and then Denny gets so busy I won't be able to call him again for my next flooring needs.
