Went with the 8 lb rebond pad. Gregg found that Cool Glide seam tape installation has lowest VOC . Bill came out in the pouring rain to measure .And Will promptly followed up with looking over the job and giving me details . We had carpet installed in our family room a little over a week ago. I must say that Gregg the "Flooring Specialist"was very well informed about the wide variety of products they sell. You'd think he went to "Carpet College" or something! When you're having people out and into your home you often have reservations about who will show up to do the job. I must say that the men that came out for the install were great. They really put in a long day and were nothing more than impressive at what they created. The print from our flooring is literally coming off on our shoes, socks and bare feet. Marshelle Birchman has given us the best customer service of our lifetime and I am 68 years old. She has gone out of her way to help us even though there is little chance of a sale to us. She is truly amazing and has spent time trying to help us resolve our issue. I began my experience with Gold River in 6/2020. It took some time to decide what type of flooring was best for my home. With the help of associate Jim, I went with LVP (luxury vinyl planking) due to having pets. It was not to long after the floors were installed that the planks began to separate. Gold River sent someone to repair using a rubber mallet. The planks separated again. Next repair was to glue the planking. Again, the planking separated... Every time I contacted Gold River everyone was extremely courteous, and I thought they would make it right. Next, Gold River had the manufacturer come to my home to see if the planking was defective. The report came back that I needed a subfloor. At the time of installation, I was never made aware of needing a subfloor. The installer did take responsibility. It then was a battle to determine how to make it right. Finally, Jeff Krekelberg the former owner of Gold River came to my home to inspect the planking. I give credit to Gold River for accepting responsibility and agreeing to install a subfloor at their cost. The only condition Jeff asked was to give a Yelp review. Installation was in 3/2023. While installing I noticed they were gluing the planks together. In a prior conversation I specifically asked them not to glue the planks. 3 different types of glue were used. After 2 plus years I just wanted my house back together. Not only did they glue the planks they also used some old and some new planks. The flooring in now 2 different shades. Also, on my landing a brown caulking was used on my pecan baseboard. I did send Jeff a follow up email about the flooring and never heard back from him. I would prefer to be writing a wonderful review. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. I'm now left with flooring that doesn't match. To me, this is worse than the separation. read more

I've spent thousands of dollars of quality carpet from this store over the past few years on a whole house remodel. I called to inquire on having someone come out to fix the carpet in front of a master bedroom patio door, rarely used. Professional carpet cleaner noted the carpet in front of the door wasn't installed correctly, to loosen when the carpet was cleaned. I received the run around for 5 days from staff until I requested the name of the owner of the company. Which I was told, we are employee owned. I sent an email to the president of this company expressing the lack of quality customer service. I simply needed someone to restretch and tack down a small area of carpet. I've contacted a different local flooring company through recommendation, in which a carpet installer will be out to fix the carpet in three days. As a small business owner myself, each and every customer is a valued customer. I strongly feel this "employee owned" company could benefit from some quality staff meetings on customer service and growth of a company. After reading other reviews with issues, including my own experience, I will not shop at this flooring store for future flooring needs or recommend to others. read more

I wrote a very lengthy and very negative review a couple days ago. I truly had a bad experience. We had multiple ordering problems and customer service issues and multiple delays. I was fed up and disappointed. I wrote my review not expecting a response. I figured with the service provided up to then my review would just be a warning to future customers. Flash forward to today. The owner called me. He spoke to me for near 30 minutes. He told me about his involvement. He asked multiple questions and he spoke to me about his wife and how upsetting our concerns were to her. I can honestly say I believe in their sincerity. He didn't offer a discount and I didn't want one what he did offer was a heartfelt apology, a promise to do better and actual process improvement in his stores. He offered to meet my wife and I personally. What more could I ask for than a caring owner who wanted to apologize personally and shake my hand? This isn't a bad company, just a good one that made some bad mistakes on my job. I believe in small business and I can still honestly refer them knowing this owner will make things right and I'm sure the vast majority of their projects go better than mine. Most importantly the project turned out as expected. And the contractors were incredible. read more

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have a very hard time committing to things. Especially long-term things like home projects. I did a lot of research and had a general idea of what I was looking for when I finally decided to replace the flooring in my kitchen and dining rooms. When I started visiting flooring companies, it was shocking and yet not shocking how vastly different each experience was. I went to one business that after 5+ minutes of me walking around their empty showroom, no one ever came out of the back (if they were even there) to acknowledge me. Another company said welcome, but then I had to hunt down to ask questions. It wasn't busy so my only guess is I must not have looked to be a serious shopper? I finally ended up at Gold River Flooring where I was greeted by Allan with a smile and a friendly demeanor. He pointed me in the direction of the product I was looking for, and let me look around for a bit. He checked back with me and when I was finally ready to ask questions, he was extremely helpful. He offered to let me take 5 sample pieces home with me, and I wouldn't even have to bring them back. He would come by and take measurements to give me an exact cost to either DIY or have them install for me, and pick up the samples then. Allan gave me a complete and detailed list of product needed including price and the option to have them install. I decided to have them install the flooring, and couldn't be happier with my decision. Communication with the installation coordinator, Will, was impeccable. Robert, the installer, arrived on time and completed the project on time. There was one hiccup which was resolved immediately and professionally with Will coming on site to make sure everyone was happy. This review was based on the service we've got upon arrival. The showroom was pretty impressive! Nicely set up. Lots to chose from. We were quickly shown where the laminated floors were located. I forgot the gentlemen's name, he answered all of our questions and concern. We were only looking for materials only without installation. I have used Gold River Carpet One for 2 different houses in the past 3 years. My mom has used them for over 10 years and my sister as well. They offer a huge selection of flooring so you can find exactly what you're looking for. Alma and Jeff are great and both times the installers were hard working and did a great job. This review dates back to January of 2021 for my carpet and baseboards installation. I was really excited to finally get new carpet and baseboards for my room. I paid everything full in advanced and booked my appointment for the installs to come on Saturday 1/16 between 8am-10am. On the day of the installation, I got a call from the installer that he's going to be late and if he can come by at 1 instead, I couldn't really understand him, but he also said something along the lines of "nobody wants to work on a Saturday", I didn't think anything of it and agreed and changed my plans for the afternoon to wait for him and his sons arrival. By the time 1:30 hit, I texted and call the installer if he was on his way or not because I was already getting fed up waiting all day and didn't like how they couldn't communicate with me to let know what's going on. Long story short, Jacob had to call those 2 and they agreed to come the next day to install the carpet and baseboards in which they rushed because there were so many holes punched onto the walls that looked uneven and they even left without using drydex to patch them up! When I was slowly checking all the baseboards out there was one baseboard that wasn't installed so I texted his son to come back and install it, fix those holes on the baseboard and caulk some of the gaps up with silicone! Even now I am so unsatisfied with my baseboards because some parts still have gaps that weren't filled with silicone! He gave such a bad attitude and even told me I can buy drydex myself to do it! 2 stars for Jacobs awesome customer service, but this father & son duo that installed my carpet and baseboards needs to fix their work ethic because I paid too much for you to make all these mistakes that can be avoided! read more

Will not be needing another flooring company ever again as I've found mine for life. It all started when Justin arrived on time with resources and his insane knowledge. 5 minutes in I trusted his recommendations and loved his no nonsense approach. Just terrific! The carpet we choose was a waffle design and can be a bit of a challenge to install. I was never worried because Justin was there every step of the way and was always communicating at every bench mark of the job along with being onsite the day of install. This to me is worth its weight in gold. Installers arrived and knocked out the whole job in one day and where there was a seam in the massive room upstairs, they blended it remarkably. I was super impressed how seamless the seam was. This a top notch outfit that prides themselves on communication, craftsmanship and their reputation. I gotta say they did not disappoint. I scheduled an appointment for a rep from Gold River to come out and measure for tile. The measuring went fine, then nothing...for weeks. I finally emailed them to see if they still wanted our business. They responded and said that they did and that they were still looking for tile that matched our existing tile, then nothing...again...for over a week. I finally emailed them again to follow up and, believe it or not, nothing... If you want your tiling job to actually get completed, I would suggest going elsewhere. AMAZING experience! From Alec in sales, to Will the install manager, and the actual installers..top notch. The two installers were highly efficient and totally respectful of our home. They did an excellent job carefully cleaning up after themselves with all the dust and debris. Nose to the grind working and arrived punctually. We had 900 sf on the first floor, removing Linoleum, carpet and tile. We purchased CoreTech Plus in Alabaster Oak. Stunning!! The job was quoted at 2+ days and was done in less than 2. I love Alec!!!!! She was a good listener fun to work with, brought administrative experience and product knowledge to the table and was the one that came to measure.
