If you're looking for clean, real food, this is the place. Locally sourced ingredients, handmade soups and incredible menu. We stopped after visiting the NHP - it's a quick walk from the junction of C&O and GAP. I've worked in restaurants - this place is top notch. We had both soups - a GF chicken noodle soup and a vegan kale & artichoke (coconut) cream soup. The flavors were incredible. You can tell they spend a lot of time perfecting their soup. We also had sushi, a Tuna Maki roll and a California roll. The California roll was GF because they use ACTUAL (Maryland) crab instead of surimi. It was super good. Super. Service was easy with both paper menus, or a convenient ordering screen. They have a full bar, too. They have tables as well as couch/chair area. You can get self-service water, too. Love finding a place with ramen and sushi in downtown Cumberland, just a few blocks of 68 where one typically shoots through town on runs out to DC for work. This time I was passing by at dinner time so checked it out. It was Trivia Night so I opted for outside at one of the small 3 patio tables. The street has an outdoor dining vibe with two other restaurants also with outdoor seating. You put in your order at the bar (at least this Wednesday night) with a welcoming bartender on easy check list for sushi and ramen. I was stopping on the late side and those finishing their meals were clearly enjoying themselves. Many knew each other across tables as lots of stopping by for chats among friends. The pork belly in the ramen was definitely my jam as it had a crunchy top with easy to come apart pieces. Definitely the highlight. Not nearly as big a fan of the Asian greens which fell into almost a paste, the mushrooms not looking like they were fresh (to be fair there is a shiitake option I missed), and the smoked eggplant a little too chewy. And I took a flyer on the "special broth" without asking what it was so that is on me. But the really dark perhaps cinnamon infused (don't hold me to it) version was not something for me. The noodles were ample but not plentiful and were legit. So I think I'd opt for Nori instead of Asian greens next time and go with more traditional toppings. But definitely endorse the pork belly. I tried a smoked eggplant sushi role as something new. Just fine, I've tried it but I'll try another combo they have next time. And I know the economics are tough these days and specialty roles are routinely low teens in cost, but I'd suggest a two tier pricing scheme rather than $13.00 for one with a single ingredient and just 6 rather than normally 8 for specialty rolls. Glad I stopped and I will again to try some of the other fare. Just may be a little more traditional in my choices next time. read more

Centre Street was one of the must-see spots on my list of places in Cumberland, namely because it seems to be one of the only with vegan options. And it didn't disappoint! I came in here on a Saturday afternoon looking for a good meal and refuge from the snow outside. I pulled up a seat and was greeted by Drew, the owner. He gave me a menu and explained the whole deal. I ordered a vegan egg/sausage wrap and it was just what I needed (though the ramen looked/smell good too)! I hung out for a few hours, trying a few different beers, chatting with the locals, and learning more about the town from Drew. All in all, it's a great space with options that accommodate many diets (veg, gluten free, etc.), and the physical location is open and welcoming, with plenty of room to sit and hang out. On my way out, I picked out some mix-and-match beer to go from the cooler, which has a great selection of local beer. And I walked away with some tips of other spots to check out. I am relatively certain I'll be back in Cumberland in the coming years, and I hope this place will still be there whenever I make it back, in which case I'd happily swing by again. read more

The menu is eclectic with plenty of options to choose from, and everything was reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which really added to the experience. Stopped here for lunch - as I am anxious to try their new menu and format. This review is simply for the overall space and the business as a multi-use building. It recently opened and had several outlets of food and drink - and I think the staff is top-notch. Every time I have been by here the staff has greeted me upon entry as well as being attentive to other customers. They have a bar setup with IPA's as well as bourbon and whiskey flights - grab and go food and drinks in the coolers - an area with a Nintendo Switch that people can wind down and hang out, as well as events like trivia with food specials. They just opened a ramen kiosk which looks very good and I would recommend trying like I will very soon. Great asset to downtown Cumberland! read more

This was such a great experience. Open restaurant with some great esthetics for picture taking. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were so inviting and made us immediately feel welcome. The food was absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavorful and great gluten free options. They also had vegetarian options, kids menu and a full service bar. You can tell they take pride in their food and want to give you the best experience possible. We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and staff. We were in town visiting my grandmother, who also enjoyed this spot, so we'll definitely be coming back the next time we visit. A small, well decorated food hall with lot of food options including vegetarian and GF. Great bar with a few good beers on tap and more extensive bar menu (with a significant amount of good whiskey). For lunch we had the lox toast and a braised beef wrap, which were both delicious, and enjoyed friendly service. A mix of folks from couples to families in there midday on a weekend. Hmmm I had ramen here but it is totally different thing from a typical Japanese ramen. You select each sub menu from soup, noodle, topping separately. I chose white Miso broth with corn, mushroom, eggplant and bamboo. The soup had new sensation! a sour taste, it's almost like adding pickled liquid from nappa or something. I just never had a sour rame other than vinegar like sour topping so I was shocked first. Noodle seems home made fresh from grinder and it is very soft. Once the noodle goes into your mouth, it turns into very mushy food immediately. When you eat "traditional" ramen noodle, you can enjoy the sense of noodle passing through your throat. Same with Japanese soba. This noodle won't give you that. Taste of noodle is of course different but okay. I felt, once I put noodle into my mouth but eating mushed potatoes. Noodle was white so no yellow dye or egg which is a good thing. Corn was rather hard, and it needs to be boiled longer. Crispy? Maybe but if rather boil a bit longer. The crispiness of corn adds more mushy feeling to the noodle sensation. I just didn't like the combination of those texture. Overall, don't go there with "traditional" ramen in your mind. But rather enjoy it as fusion or creative with Gluten free noodle, yeah, you may enjoy here. read more

This is a terrific spot - hip and cool but very welcoming! They have a variety of food stalls and several small business crafters/sellers with wares you can browse and buy. We were charmed to see a large collection of board games and this is a place you can hang out and spend and hour or two playing them. Free wifi available. What could be better? read more
