    Brownie sundae

Very nice setting and we didn't have to wait. We all really liked our meals. Portabella sandwich was huge and messy but delicious. We all agreed the brownie sundae was something special. It is also huge and delicious--next level. Will be back

Redemption! In September 2024, we visited Centre Street Tap House for the first time. The food was good, but the service was lackluster. In October 2024, we moved from Chicago to Portage, Michigan. We visited and ordered from Centre Street Tap House a few more times. Each time, we are disappointed with the service. Tonight . . . redemption! We sat out on the patio on the most beautiful night. Our server, Stephanie was spot on. Just as my brother needed another drink, she was at his elbow, even though we were her ONLY outdoor table. The food was great. The service was great. The manager even stopped by our table. Synchronous perfection! I am going to crave the Greek salad from here on out, by the way. There is nothing better than a meat-free salad with tons of flavor, even before adding the dressing. This is actually kind of bad news. It has been easy to walk by/drive by Centre Street Tap House until now. No longer! I will want to stop by much more frequently after this visit.

    Generals Chicken w/ added jalapeños

Ok historically I have not been a fan of this s place and have only gone begrudgingly when dragged by friends as today. What's different today is I actually enjoyed the food and felt it was acceptable quality. Even though Generals Chicken was a temporary item I thought it was good. Not too sweet or overly coated with batter. The dark meat was a good juicy choice. Don't assume the lack of syrupy sauce left this meal dry or bland. To the contrary. I recommend this meal

Great restaurant, great food, service and ambiance. Our food was delicious, I was sad that they didn't have the portobello sandwich but the turkey burger was delicious.

Had the fried green tomato BLT. It was a tasty sandwich, but the lack of bacon (literally two slices) was a joke.

Quite possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had…read more The restaurant smelled bad and it almost caused my wife to leave. That would have been fortuitous. Instead, we had to endure a staff that not only was rude, but willfully neglectful. She had only one other table and, yet, our server, Katlyn, never checked with us unless we forced her to acknowledge us. She avoided eye contact at all costs. Ten minutes with empty drinks and we finally got her attention. My wife asked for another beer and she ran off before I could even ask for another of my drink! The dinner was terrible. My wife's Blackened Bleu Steak ($32) was so bad that she took two bites and set it aside. The food was overcooked and salty. My Olive Cheese Smash Burger ($16) was the same. When we called for the check, the waitress did not even question that the food was nearly untouched on our plates. There are so many great restaurants in the area. Save yourself the hellacious experience of the HighDive Kitchen + Bar.

Great menu with lots of variety! Great drink menu! Everything we've tried has been great!! This spot is definitely worth a stop! (If only the downtown parking situation wasn't such a beast! But High Dive is worth the feat of finding a nearby spot!) I highly recommend the wings - some of the best we've had in town!! We love doing half and half: lemon pepper and sweet heat with the ranch and blue cheese! Their fries are also way good!! Regular or their truffle style!! The bleu berry salad is my favorite entree, paired with the steak it's an absolute slay!!! It will keep me coming back!

We arrived at 9:45pm and were seated at a cute, cozy little couch and table setup. The hostess handed us both a drink menu and a separate food menu. Looking through it, I was thrilled to see quite an expansive cocktail list broken down by "chapters," as well as several small snack options clearly marked with a gluten-free (GF) label. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing once we tried to order. Despite the online hours stating the venue closes at 11:00pm our server informed us that the kitchen was already closed. There is no indication online of what time the kitchen closes, and it was incredibly disappointing to be handed a dedicated food menu by the hostess only to be told moments later we couldn't order anything. When I asked our server for recommendations and which specific cocktails were gluten-free, she mentioned she was new and had to go check. She returned about 10 minutes later, only to give a vague answer that "most drinks were gluten-free" without offering an actual recommendation or helpful suggestion. My husband ended up ordering a non-alcoholic drink, but between the kitchen confusion and the lackluster service, I opted not to get anything at all. It's a cool venue with a lot of potential, but they should put their kitchen hours online and better train their staff on the menu.

It's next door to their sister restaurant, Lovejoy. Walking in, the space is very dimly lit with a nice bar and some cozy seating. We were directed to a couch and a couple of low chairs. The menu is organized into different "chapters," with different themes for each chapter. They also have beer, wine, spirit-free options, and a spirits list. I wanted something fun, so I chose the Don the Beachcomber, a rum-based tiki cocktail that is flamed tableside. My friend got the Obstacle No. 1, which is a bourbon drink that they smoke at your table. Very theatrical and fun! These drinks were $20+ so pretty pricey, but worth it for a fun occasion. We had a nice time just relaxing and catching up. I would say it's not a great spot for a large group, but definitely a fun date night place. They have a small food menu of offerings from the restaurant next door that sounded tasty. We had just eaten but I'd be interested in their small plates. I'm so glad I got to experience this place. It feels like you're transported to a secret speakeasy when you enter!

Did you know there is a speakeasy in Holland?…read more Right below Butch's Dry Dock downtown Holland you can find a small dim lit cocktail bar! You can go to their website to get on the email list for the password each week or you can go to the host stand at Butch's and ask if there is available seating "downstairs". The two times I've done this, the host always understands. They pick up the phone and call downstairs to see if there's any open spots and let us go down there. There are stairs or you can take the elevator to the basement level. After you've arrived downstairs you can find the door with the black lock symbol and KNOCK THREE TIMES. They will let you in and welcome you to find a seat. They have a water station where you can help yourself and some tables and a couch and bar seating. The menu is pretty fantastic. I haven't had a drink that I dislike yet! The prices are a bit elevated but that's okay for a fancy drink imo. Hope you check out this gem if you're ever in Holland and want to go on a little adventure to find this place! My only complaint is the basement area smells a little funky but inside the bar was fine. But otherwise it's totally amazing and worth the experience! The people working here are great too! So kind'

Our bartender had been working here for a couple years, so he knew the specials and was quick with his work. A real mix of customers from a college student to a couple of workmates, our family, and another group of friends further back. You just don't expect to find fine dining in such a rural setting. We arrived a half hour before our reservation (must have) being that we were coming from so far away. We were told our table wouldn't be available until close to our reservation time. No problem. Four Roses has a very nice bar. My wife had a glass of wine and after perusing their pretty impressive bourbon list, I ordered my drink. First observation-bourbon and wine very reasonably priced. I also like the fact they had large cubes so I could enjoy my drink before it got watered down. Cubes were perfectly clear as well. We were shown to our table about ten minutes early and started to review the menu. Four Rose's menu has many staples but changes often adding specials. Our server came by quickly and answered our questions. We had many as there were so many great dishes to consider. Rolls right out of the oven were also brought to our table. My wife ordered White Fish Grenoble and I had the Maple Mustard Baby Back Ribs. I didn't care for the vegetables offered so I substituted rice. My wife was not overly impressed with her choice calling it very bland with almost no flavor. She loved the vegetables however. Portions were large-just not to her liking. My ribs were excellent. The maple mustard sauce was so good I asked my server for more. We both thought the rice was brittle - perhaps overcooked. Four Rose's is also known for their deserts and we were tempted. I had amaretto coconut creme pie. Excellent. My wife loves toffee pudding so she was excited to try it when she saw it on the menu. Unfortunately it was more of a toffee bread pudding then actual pudding. The server quickly took it off the bill when she returned and saw it was barley touched. Our server needs to be cloned as she was so good and responsive. Even with these short comings, our experience was excellent and we will be back.
