Centric Fiber has been great i(Hockley ). The network stability has been stable, which is honestly refreshing after dealing with unreliable/spotty internet providers in the past. Speeds are consistent, outages have been minimal, and when I have needed support and called their customer service team they have been excellent--friendly and quick to help. The local gas company is involved in this company, somehow and they tried to get me to sign up when I set up a residential account. I told them I would consider it after I checked the company out. I had never hear of them. Evidentially they made some sort of deal with the developers of the housing tract I live in and are the only internet game in town, except via cellular or satellite. Can't get cable. fiber, or even old DSL, just Centric. Isn't that nice? After reading up on the company I decided to not use them, based on their terrible reviews, mostly due to outages, slow speeds, and lousy customer service. In other words, they suck at everything a high speed internet company exists to do. That's not my complaint against them, however. My complaint is that they now have my email address, in spite of the fact that I specifically opted out of marketing and never gave the gas company my permission to sell my contact info. I've tried to opt out, unsubscribe from Centric but apparently this "friendly, local, down home company" doesn't understand the word NO. God knows who else they gave my info to but they do plenty of harassment on their own. Any company that has to resort to such sleazy practices should tell you all about who you are dealing with. Additionally, the fact that they can't get into the market without paying off developers and forcing residents to buy their junk or have nothing should really drive the point home! Just remember, you DO have a choice and don't need to sign a contract with any provider. Honestly, as long as you can consistently get crazy fast speeds, there are tons of affordable options. I have SL and I can still watch a movie while the kids game. Same with the 5g cell plans. read more

WiFi back from 2014 worked better than the 1GB we currently pay for. No customer service, no technician can come out to see if the equipment is okay. Nothing. I have asked them to terminate my service because it's an absolute waste of money. Constant outages and the app sucks. Temple Run had better features than that crap they call an app. I've lost an entire day working from home due to their sudden outage. (And it's constant so I shouldn't have been surprised) The best part has been my husband taking off work several times to meet the technicians they supposedly scheduled. Oh, but they never showed because the internet was magically back up and they don't come out if WiFi works. No matter how mediocre it is! Absolute worst service/company ever. read more

We recently had Centric Fiber install internet for my parents in The Villages, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Their Giga Guide was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything easy for them to understand. He handled the setup quickly, connected all their devices, and made sure they were comfortable using everything before leaving. My parents were so impressed with how smooth the whole process was. THE WORST PROVIDER THERE IS!!! I've only had them 3 months and have had about 4 outages. No reason sometime, its just out; and you can never get anyone on the phone. It takes them almost 24 hours to call you back. The one time i got a call back the guy was telling me my system was back up while i was actively looking at a 'no connection' notification! Stay away from this company if you can. Their bad customer service is only surpasses by their horrendous product. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. For cheaper i had google fiber and it went out ONCE in around 5 years and that was because i needed new equipment. I was able to get someone and schedule an appointment during after hours. Try that with these people. I've called their after hours tonight 4 times and got NO ONE...my birthday eve is ruined by this jackas*ory of an "internet provider"...not surprised being theyve ruined my telework day. One thing they are ALWAYS on time for is collecting your payment! They NEVER miss that...or offer concession for the inconvenience THEIR CRAPPY SERVICE CAUSES...but i guess if they had to do that they'd be out of business. Ill be calling google fiber again tomorrow to see if there are any plans to expand to my area...as soon as there are I'm GONE from this, not even deserving of 1 star, privider....here's to hoping Google comes and puts them out of business! read more

Apartment forces this internet "service," it's garbage! Costs more than I was paying for AT&T and nowhere close to being as good.

The community I moved in has centric Internet. A salesman came by talked about trying the service for month. I call the company a week before expiration and the very rude person told me the only way to cancel is to sell my new home and that it is in my contract. So now I have too internet bills. Who builds a community and obligate new owners to use and pay for low rated service. read more

This is by far the worse ISP i have ever used. Constantly getting network outages and speeds not meeting what your paying for. If you have the option to choose your ISP do not go with Centric. read more

Forced to pay for this service in my apartment, but does not allow for a direct wired connection and is wifi only.

Constant long time outages, embarrassing and irritating. Have this service for just 3 months and had numerous outage. And just one week I think I experienced 2 to 3 outage that took up half the day. The neighborhood I moved to only has Centric Fiber. I have experienced lag almost every day. On a call to support, they suggested my email provider was outdated & I needed to replace/add memory, since mine might be old now. My computer is a little over a year old, and it has software that regularly tests my equipment. I am very old & have probably been online since before the tech I talked to was born. While I am not IT, I know a lot about computers, & the suggestions that were made are useless. Before I moved here, I was on Spectrum & Frontier, with none of the issues I have now. read more

I have no service and can't get a hold of anyone on the phone, they keep sending call to voicemail and I can bet a million dollars no one will call me back. In the past 6 days we've had 4 outages. Today, Friday April 11th the internet was out for 12 hours (7am to 7pm) in the big sky subdivision out in ponder, Texas. A ton of people out here including myself work from home. I had to hotspot the entire day which is not ideal. Very unreliable service and they don't even compensate for lost time. Mind you, these previous outages were from 11pm to 7 am. Too much of my time has been wasted with this company. read more

Has to be the worse WiFi I've had in my life. I have to disconnect my phone and laptop just to play games on my PC, and still having connection issues and getting disconnected from the WiFi. They charge you an extra $8 for an extender for it to do the same thing. There's no other services in my area so forced to suffer until a year or so read more

Never answers the phone and cannot install their own equipment. They forgot to put us on the schedule to begin with for the initial install then proceeded to make us wait 6 days without internet before they could come and install their equipmen. Then, when they finally came out, the technician that came could not complete the install which was then proceeded with a promise to send a technician that could finish the install that afternoon. 12 hours later of waiting never heard anything and never showed up...ANOTHER night without even having our internet set up. If this is what they do to people just trying to set up their system, cannot imagine the service that follows. HIGHLY recommend using an Xfinity or AT&T that will deliver on their word when people depend on it for work/family. read more

Centric fiber is the worst internet cervice I've ever had. We live in they Kyle,TX arrea to be clear. They deleted my post last time because I wasn't clear about that. The signal drops all the time. Or it drops the speed drastically, no where close to what your plan is. When you call them they never call you back or answer the phone. The most unreliable service I have ever experience. I started a new service, and it took 2 days to get it online. It worked for 1 day then off for 5 days. The problem is I got into an agreement when purchasing a new home from Lennar that regardless if I chose the service or not I still have to pay for the service. So beware if you plan to buy a new home, should acoid this mistake. I'm so frustrated and not sure what to do now. Probably have get another provider even if I have to pay extra read more
