My wife and I switched to Tachus 2 years ago and couldn't be happier. We had cable through our local affiliate and there were always issues with service interruptions and slow speeds. We were also traveling a lot so paying for cable we weren't even home to watch. When Tachus announced they were putting fiber optic in our area we signed up, the price was so good and they said it would not go up. The installers ran the service lines out by the street so they didn't mess up our back yard like Xfinity did. Overall the service has been great, Tachus has generators for all their main branch units so they never go down after storms. Recently we did have an issue with a poor signal that kept cutting out. I called tech support and they tried trouble shooting over the phone but couldn't resolve the issue. The tech guy on the phone said he would contact the local support techs and send one to our house. I'm thinking, "oh sure, this will take a week or more". I was so surprised that we had a tech service guy call us and say he would be at our home within the hour! His name was Alphonso and he was just great. He figured out we needed a newer modem so replaced it as well as the patch cord from the modem to the wall connection as it had gone bad. He even showed my wife how to change some settings on here laptop to get it running faster! All this and no extra charges or anything. My internet went down at 5:30pm while I was working and I have tried reaching someone from Tachus for 30min+ through their website and by their customer support phone number and no one responds! I've been on hold and transferred and now they said someone should call me back but they couldn't tell me when. I can't continue working until it's back and no one responds. If I could give minus stars I would.. They have come into our neighborhood to lay their lines and destroyed our yards. Broken our water lines, sprinkler systems, gas lines. They actually cut EXISTING Internet lines from competitor providers and when the workers had this brought to their attention they laughed at the homeowners! They claimed they would restore the destruction but they just lay dead grass on the places they destroyed. They don't clean the streets they don't clean the sidewalks and they will use the homeowners water and leave the water on and running all day until the homeowners discover it. We have them on camera! They have disconnected hoses on the homeowners house and walked off with them, again it's on camera. They have no respect at all for the neighborhood and yet when it's done they will have the unmitigated gaul to try and sell us a service after showing us nothing but disrespect. read more

They keep sending flyers talking about their wonderful service and all inclusive pricing yet when you call you find its piece together just like the other others... supply a router buy a router whatever. I've asked several times about the installation process because I don't want a bunch of new wires hanging all over heading to the mess that the current cable company already left. I requested that a tech visit me before signing up for the service. We had a scheduled time an hour later they call and ask if I'm still interested as I've been waiting. I said yes then he said it would be 30 minutes. Another hour later I call And he says maybe I can get there in 45 minutes to an hour. I said forget it and then I went online and started reading more reviews. I think I'll stick to where I'm at. I was upset with the procrastination but it may have saved me in the long run so I'm happy for that. read more

We had Tachus installed at a home we were buying. It was not working when the installer was finished and he couldn't start our new service. After we made two more phone calls it was resolved. Within the first week we had two more service outages, one lasting half a day. That was it. We called and cancelled their service. Most disappointing internet service ever. We rely on it for business and wouldn't recommend Tachus to anyone. Two thumbs down. read more

Yet there own customer service rep told me " Well service is better but not so much customer service we don't claim that" I have been waiting to be installed for 6 months when signed up was told 2-4 weeks (waited 4 weeks called) it will be 2 weeks (waited another 4 weeks called) with 2-3 weeks ( waited 8 weeks called) week week and half ( waited 3 weeks called) Well that is now we are back up to 6-8 weeks. I give up they can keep the internet service and I'll keep what I got even though it is awful better than nothing!!! If this is anything of what there customer service is BEWARE. read more

My mother got installed a month ago. It's fast but intermittent. I work in telecom... Word of advice to TACHUS. Invest more money into your modems they are cheap and the wifi coverage is terrible. Had to get a mesh system. read more

During installation the Tachus representative uncoupled a sprinkler line. They did not return to fix it and overnight it and the water dispersement grew, coming out of our driveway pavers. Expen$ive replacement and we are getting the run around from Tachus. The "expert" says it is not his fault, even though we have the video and photos to prove it. Disappointed and we have not even begun using them. read more

We had Tachus installed about a month now. Install went smoothly and as soon as I unplugged my mesh WiFi router from the cable internet and plugged in the Tachus fiber plug, it worked perfectly. Ran a speed test and the upload and download were both running at the speeds promised. read more

Was tired of Xfinity poor service and poor connection. So excited to get Fiber and after they updated firmware on my modem with their 1gb service I'm getting great up and down speeds so we can do multiple video zooms without it knocking out. I looked at their blog and got Linksys AC2200 3 pack during black friday sale and it has worked great as our router mesh. Tech support said tri-band matters more than wifi6 for now since only phones are wifi6 enabled. They provide free modem. So far both customer support, tech support has been great. They did cut sprinkler line during big pipe laydown as well as fiber to the house but both were fixed next day with no hassle. I've had the pleasure of dealing with Nathan in customer service who everyone raves about...he's very helpful on the router questions and Mason on tech support. Both excellent! read more

Tachus is as bad, if not worse than Optimum with their customer service. They hired a digging contractor to dig up our yard, cut the neutral line to our home and then proceed to try to fix? it themselves resulting in massive power surges INSTEAD of calling Entergy. These surges blew out 3 surge protectors and a transformer in our AC. All we asked was to be reimbursed for the repairs ($300) but instead were basically told to go away. So that is what we will do! Have gone more than 10 years without fiber and can wait until another company comes along. read more
