(later thrown away) Cornflakes - contained yellow dyes, malt syrup - partially genetically engineered Offbrand 'pancake syrup' - 1st ingredient - high fructose corn syrup. hell to the no Apparently, the church gets donations, and purchases food from Oregon Fraud Bank. They purchase in bulk - canned food which contains the poison high fructose corn syrup. Most of the food at this location is heavily processed. Inspect your so-called food - how much is actually edible from these locales? Produce here was slimy and wouldn't even touch it for further inspection. Someone tried to give me products like laundry detergent and omg reallllly processed and chemical smell - had to leave. Why not just give out gift cards to a grocer's. Give people real choices - could buy a lot in bulk for $25 or $30 bux. McDonald's was a proud volunteer today, helping to package food items. Today, we sorted and repacked pancake mix to go out to various organizations. You also have to label the items with nutritional information as well as a cooking label. What's good is that anyone can volunteer to share your time by working with them. Only requirement is that you're 16 years of age with an adult or 18 years or older. So come by yourself as Devon did or come as a group. It is a great way to give back to the community. They also give tours so you can truly understand the impact hunger has on the community, the state. I truly was blessed by this event.

They are divided into 2 separate buildings. They have great prices to begin with and then they have colored tags that are an additional mark down. I greatly prefer shopping here where I know my money goes to a good cause instead of going to a for profit thrift store. Bonus,all the employees are super nice.

Neighborhood House is a great local organization. They helped my mom with the heating & electricity…read morebills when she was unemployed. (These difficult things that nobody likes to talk about, but should be acknowledged and shared as resources for others in the same boat.) This location also makes me happy because it provides free bread - and I'm not just talking sliced Wonderbread. I mean kalamata olive loaf from Trader Joe's, sourdough from Grand Central Bakery, fresh bagels, garlic bread. It raised my spirits when I was unemployed myself, so kudos to the businesses for donating their delicious bread and kudos to Neighborhood House for being there to help.

I…read morehave used this place as a last resort and maybe only come less than a handful of times a year. The past few times have been fine, everyone has been nice and considerate. But this experience today was such a let down. I walked in and checked in with an older man who was very sweet. He was asking me some background questions and the woman who was supposed to 'shop' us walked up to us. She looked us up and down and didn't smile. She stood there awkwardly for a few minutes before leaving to use the bathroom. She came back and started to help us. Immediately we felt uncomfortable. Straight faced she asked us what we wanted and just stood in silence when not telling us what we could have. It was so awkward I tried to make small talk with her just to break the weird silence. Towards the end, a Russian woman came in and started talking to her. She totally ignored us and started speaking in only Russian, and turned her back to us. She turned around a few times to look at what we were getting and then said 'great, you're done, you can go.' And then turned to speak more to the woman in Russian. I felt this was very rude. We just lost a child and are treated this way. I appreciate the help throughout this past year but will not be returning here..

Empathetic and friendly staff | Donate locally, make a difference…read more We've been donating to this food bank over the years. Each time we drop by to give diapers or canned goods, we've had pleasant brief experiences with the staff. I believe it is volunteer-run, so these kind humans spend their time helping others in our community. They're open only Tuesdays (until posted otherwise). They accept diapers and wipes. I found this out after trying to donate a half-opened Costco box of baby and toddler diapers. It was a shame to just throw it away, so I thought donating to Goodwill would be right. They don't accept them and recommended we drop them off here. Each Tuesday we've dropped off food and other items, we see lots of elderly. If you're looking to donate items, go around the back to have a worker meet you.
