Out 3 weeks before movie was released so couldn't buy anything for my children during the premier. This theater could be great but the seats aren't cleaned between movies. It's pretty gross when you are assigned to seats by purchase and you're stuck in a chair thats covered with soda stains on the table and cup holder you're supposed to put your snacks on. I'm giving one star but if you can clean it up I'll change it to five. read more

We happen to cross this place while we were down in the area and decided we needed to have a guys night or we went and saw John Wick three. I'm not sure why people are so down on this place, we were very impressed! The place has 14 theaters and really the only negative was that the physical locations of the screens were not well marked. We were down the hall and around the corner, but it was difficult to tell that the theaters around the corner were there. Pretty minor detail in the grand scheme of things. The seats here are very large and at least in the theater we were in, they reclined! Total game changer in my estimation. They also have standard snacks as well as food and beer. They had a couple microbrews on tap, and few things really taste better than salty popcorn and a nice IPA. This is definitely not a spot where you're going to pay five dollars for a movie, but in the end we paid about what we expect for theater of this caliber, and overall we were very impressed! read more

The movie NEVER starts on time im getting tired of this it takes MORE than HALF an hour for the movie to start! This is ridiculous!

Good customer service and food but I feel as though the main lobby should have air conditioning, especially with the employees having to stand in that heat all day. From the time I got my popcorn to when I paid for my snacks, I was already sweating and had to refill my drink before going to the auditorium. This was a very good movie theater, great snacks and quality the only con is that that pricing.

First the good thing.. is the seats.. reserve seating is the best. We bought a lot of food.. about $90 worth and the cashier didn't ask if we were Cinemark members, which gives an additional 20% off. However, when I realized that we didn't get the discount.. I went back and the manger was kind enough to honor it. On to the not so good... came here with a big group... and when we went to go get our seats there was still garbage... it was a mess... they shouldn't let people in until it was clean. I would not preorder food. They have it made and sitting there for 30 minutes before your order time. So you get cold and stale food.

The new seats are great, staff is always friendly and quality of movie watching experience is generally good but, dear lord their concessions area is horrible. Popcorn everywhere, soda spilled all over the ground and on the vending machines. It's disgusting. Makes me wonder how well they are cleaning the area what were all the food is prepped. The seats are very comfy. Screening room was spacious and the screen was large. Based on other reviews I would bring some disinfectant wipes and maybe wipe your seats and tray if you're big on germs. We were just in town visiting Nearby Monterey and decided to catch a movie here at the Century theaters here in Salinas on June 20, 2015. We saw the movie *Inside Out * showing @ 8:55. Hands down the worst theater I have ever been to. From beginning to end. We frequent Century theaters in our hometown and I rate them 5 stars in our town. Concession stand packed with only 1 side open and a pack of people trying to get through. What's strange is there were 5 employees sitting on break inside behind the ticket counter. This place is filthy. Popcorn, drinks, cups & trash spilled throughout the floor. The bottom of my shoes are still sticky. Bathrooms were disgusting with dirty diapers on the floor in ladies restroom. Even after our movie was finished all the trash cans were overflowing. After the movie was over those same garbage cans were still untouched. Very strange. I wonder about the management or is this just normal for this location? read more

Staff is horrible, they're rude as hell. Literally made this yelp account because I was finally fed up with Cinemark. Came in to watch Halloween Kills, bought some pop corn and nachos. I found a long black hair in my popcorn, looked like it was from one of the girls working she had her hair down without a hair net and kept playing with her hair in between customers. I asked if I could get a different pop corn. She gave me a dirty look and had a really bad attitude. I noticed she would take her mask off everytime she would scoop popcorn and she wouldn't wear gloves. Makes me not wanna buy concessions from this place ever again. The bathrooms are absolutely horrible, they smell like weed 95% of the time and apparently no janitors. Some of the staff is okay, but most of the staff would rather be on their phones or talk to each other then actually help the customer. The floors are always so sticky like somebody spilled soda and it hadn't been cleaned up for days, my shoes literally peel off the floor. This place is disgusting, maya is so much better and they offer such a better experience. We love watching movies out of town and visiting other theatres. Driving home from SF, stopped to watch Smurfs in the middle of a Monday afternoon. The location was accessible and parking was decent. The prices were okay as well, $14 for an adult and child at 2pm. The inside had an arcade that was nice. The concession stand was large and it had the cafeteria set up so that you choose your items and then paid. There were also a WIDE variety of items. They had both buttered and kettle corn! The pretzel bites were delicious and the candy neat too! Though I did have a concern as they only had one person ringing up so the line was kinda backed up. I thought the layout was nice but the execution failed. I am used to theatres where the seats are assigned so it was refreshing to walk in and have the freedom to pick your seat. Seats were comfortable. I had to go back to the concession stand during the movie and on my way back an employee held my door as my hands were full. Overall the staff was extremely friendly and I enjoyed the movie. The concession stand was awesome! This was a great visit! read more

This is a great theater with great staff. I always buy my tickets ahead of time on the app it's just easier. I can't complain about cleanliness I have to blame the fact that this is a super busy place and it isn't always easy to get through a crowd to sweep up the popcorn someone just carelessly dumped on the floor. I've seen the staff cleaning when they can and they try really hard to make it a great experience. The seats are super comfy. My favorite theater by far. read more

The theatre was fine. No issues there. Went to see Captain Marvel. Lights went off promptly at starting time 3:45 and trailers started. 27 minutes later, I kid you not, the movie eventually starts. Aside from the pictures I posted, their condiment booth was horribly maintained. All of the employees (the friendly people selling the tickets notwithstanding) seem to despise their place of work... and their lives. I bought a hot dog for my nephew and saw that they were out of ketchup. I spoke to a cashier and after much stammering and delegating going on in his pea sized brain, he meekly smiled and asked me to "go tell a manager because he had a line of customers to deal with." I like the location of this theatre, it is near the Mall and it is easy to get to,has ample parking The prices of refreshment stand are high, but they have a special deal. You can buy a bucket of popcorn and large soda for one price, then reuse the cup and bucket to get a discounted price for refill. They also had headphones for the hearing impaired. I have never had a problem there, the staff is pretty friendly and I like the manager. Go to the matinee, you get a better price on your ticket. read more

This review is for 05/27/2012. Since my reviews will be all over the place and not in chronological order, this is probably the easiest review to write about. Since I have been in Central California for most of the 2012 Memorial Weekend, I had to relax. With the hikes and long drive, my friend and I watched at a local movie chain, Cinemark 14 Northridge Mall Cinemas. I forgot what time the movie that we were going to see. We were going to see, The Avengers. Ticket Prices are $9.50. There were a ton of teens in the area and I believe they could not see certain movies because of the ratings. I actually like when management enforces these rules. There were a ton of teens just sitting outside and I kept hearing the ticket counter associate not selling the movie tickets without a parent. :) When you walk inside, the lobby area is packed with tables and concession stands. The concession stands are centralized, but very efficient. There are one one set of restrooms for Men and Women. However, the Men's Restroom was not adequately stocked with paper towels. I had to grab napkins from the concession stands. Since the Avengers was released many weeks ago, we got a smaller theatre. When we walked in, the room had barely been cleaned. So, there was still trash and popcorn in certain areas. My friend automatically noticed how stale the air was. I didn't realize until the room started getting packed and then the A/C was probably running on minimal or enough to sustain the room. The chairs were comfortable, but I think my friend said otherwise. Overall, it was OK, but this is Central CA. You can't expect a Hollywood Theatre here. I do feel that I betrayed AMC Theatres, but it has been awhile since I have seen a movie. I guess I have been busy going to Dodger Games and been going less to movie theatres. If there were an option to rate it zero I would. This theater has to be staffed by the biggest bunch of morons. On TWO separate occasions, I have encountered their incompetence. The first being when their credit card system was down. Rather than having a sign stating cash only and directing customers to the inside, they had people wait in line for 15 minutes then would tell them when they went to get their tickets. I called to complain to a manager, and it still took them three HOURS to put a sign up to inform customers. The second incident was today. Cars 2 was sold out (understandable), but rather than putting it on their sign, which they had done on Friday, they again let customers wait in line. I specifically asked why and the girl says we can't put it on the sign. Wrong answer sweet pea. I saw it on there two days ago. Lazy and incompetent staff. I'd rather drive farther and pay more money in Monterey. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Avoid this place like the plague. They care NOTHING about their customers and know NOTHING about customer service! read more

Movie theater is mediocre at best. Definitely won't let you bring outside food or drinks. Very expensive rates for the type of experience you get. You are better off going to San Jose or at least Watsonville, maybe Monterey. The only positive thing about this place is that they have matine prices until 6:00 PM so if you get there early you can pay a lower price. No refills and everything is overpriced! I remember this used to be the coolest place to come and watch a movie, I used to drive from Watsonville just to watch a movie here, you used to get a real great experience, every trip was a memory in the making. I don't know what happened... It seems like the attitude went down and prices went up! Way up. $5.00 for a soda $5.00 for a hot dog, if you come with a family of four you spend your paycheck going to the movies! If you want the ultimate movie experience I recommend AMC Mercado in Santa Clara!! Best place to watch a movie! read more

I gave Century 14, Salinas 2 stars because the seats are really comfy and the theatre was pretty clean. But I've got to say the Lobby and the restroom (women's) were filthy. Also, on a Sunday in Mid-June they had only one person selling tickets. There were about 20 people in line. What really slows it up is that everyone has to select their seats. I finally went inside and told an employee (supervisor, I assume because he was walking around looking things over) that the line was super slow and maybe they needed someone else (him?) to help out. He told me, quite condescendingly, that they were waiting for someone to come in. No apology - nothing. At least we got through the concession pretty quickly - however, on the way out I noticed the line to pay for the goodies was about 20 people long. I was just hoping those folks didn't also have to wait too long to purchase their tickets like we did. There was stuff/popcorn all over the floor, which is pretty typical for a movie theatre. Oh, and the weird spot that you get your drinks is so gross. Filthy. My guess is bad management. Not enough employees, for sure! read more

Here's the deal. Dear Management, Since you closed down having both sides of the concessions open at the same time for the last year, this theater sucks. There is always 30+ people in line with all their kids and I continually miss the start time of the movie because this line takes 20 minutes minimum to gets snacks and pay. Patrons should not have to arrive 30 minutes early when there are assigned seats. Also, I don't know if it's a cultural thing or simply bad manners aka poor movie etiquette, but I've seen several movies where groups of people are talking loudly, some yelling over the movie volume like they are in their living room instead of a public movie theater/shared space. PATRONS, movies in theaters are to be watched with your eyes and ears, not your mouths. Management, can you please find a way to monitor this ongoing issue of disruptive and distracting movie goers. This is a great movie theater. I come here all the time when there's a movie I want to watch. The chairs are nice & clean all the time. The only complaint I have about this place is that sometimes the customer service can be un welcoming. I'be tried to buy popcorn or other snacks & the cashier doesn't even acknowledge me they just tell me the price. It would be better if they tried to be more friendly. The movie theater experience here is really bad, the staff seems depressed and unhappy. They have a good selection of food but the concession area isn't kept clean, the floor is sticky, the soda machines are dirty and there is trash and food all over the place, very unsanitary. The restrooms aren't kept clean either. The movie rooms are dirty and smell pretty bad, once the movie stopped playing and the manager nor staff were completely clueless of the incident, had to go out twice to remind them. The other time the room was not cleaned, it was really bad. Overall experience really bad, I went three times and every time the conditions worsen. I now attend the Maya, Service, cleanliness, and customer service is by fart 10 times better than that of Century, and every Tuesdays tickets are $5.50 all day. read more

Worst experience i ever had with this theatre, Was going with wife and , 9 month old son to see a movie. My wife was very happy to want to see this movie, when we got to there to buy tickets, they told us we could not go in because of baby, on Rated R movie, all movies for adults are rated R, so who ever came up with this stupid idea, are very likely not kid friendly, and you just lost another customer cause of this, will never reccomend ever, read more

ATM machine is always out of order. Employees are short with customers. How can you sell hot dogs and be out of condiments, well not entirely.....they did have hot sauce. Jumbo dogs came on regular size buns. Web site is not up to date on movie times. MAYA has them beat all the way around. Will never go there again. read more

This place got remodeled not too long ago and it's still terrible. They do have a good selection of food (the pizza is decent for a movie theater). However, that isn't worth the tradeoff of the theater itself or the people who go there. I can't help but feel like I'm going to get shot or something whenever I go to a movie at the Salinas Century theater. I try to go there as little as possible and prefer the Maya instead. If you really like Century, the Del Monte one is 18x better. The employees who help you seem like they hate their jobs, and it comes out in their service. read more
