    Concessions stand menu
    Annabelle R.

Caught the matinee showing of Primate this past Sunday. There was plenty of parking outside, and the theater was your typical Century Cinemark from the outside. Service and concessions stand offerings were standard. There were no recliners in the auditorium, but the cushioned seats were comfortable enough and in good condition, and the back leaned back a little, so it didn't feel stiff. The movie screen didn't turn on till the listed showtime, so it was awkward and quiet in the auditorium before start time, no advertisements before the previews which began suddenly and at a very high volume exactly on the dot of the ticketed time. There were about 15-20 minutes of previews. Sound and picture quality were satisfactory during the film (my ears quickly adjusted to the loudness). I didn't encounter any problems while there. And Primate ended up being an awesome suspenseful thriller I absolutely enjoyed, at an affordable price from this theater.

Out on our lil date night! We love going to the movies! It's just our thing ever since we meet we stay going to the movies. My bf really wanted to see this movie "I.S.S" which was hands down amazing!! I was totally blown away by the storyline! The movie theater itself was a bit old fashioned and needs a bit a little of upgrades. Either way, I had an amazing time, I'm not really a picky person like that.

Freakier Friday Finally Begins at 3:47 pm after 27 minutes of movie trailers and advertisements

I used to be a regular here years ago and was pleasantly surprised to see many improvements made to the rooms, in particular the new seats and redesigned concession stands. There was literally nobody in the front ticket booth which to me is a plus as we can now just head straight in and were able to purchase our tickets at the head of the theatre. The bathrooms and hallways are exactly the same. The arcade too which is as lifeless as it's been the past ten years. What was incredibly frustrating and is my only complaint is that it took almost half an hour for our movie to begin from the start of trailers. My wife and I saw Freakier Friday on its way out, like it being out for over a month at this point but we were forced to sit through a torturous amount of advertisements and movie trailers which only made us both upset. For that very reason, we may never return here because half an hour of advertisements and trailers are not respectable practice for patron's time. If it wasn't for that the entire experience was great, but that was a major hindrance on true contentment. 3/5.

Hi, my name is Danielle and I'm addicted to movie theater popcorn. This was my sole purpose for venturing out the house. Hahaha! My heart is content. The caveat when you go to just buy the XL with free refill is you have to finish the popcorn and return for the refill. I just bought mine all at once. I'm sure the gas prices evened it out.

Five stars because it costs no yen…read more As far as Japanese gardens go, this one is my least favorite because it is rectangular, with a visible metal fence perimeter, with ugly trash and graffiti visible from across the creek and no opportunities to feed the koi fish. Three things, though, that make it special is that they have memorial plaques, stray cats, and blowtorched wood for an aged and weather-resistant finish. From 1913-1962, the site was a practice site for farming and raising livestock for Hayward Union High. It became a garden by the late 1970s, and when dedicated in 1980, focusing on botany (with plants donated by local Japanese-American nurseries) rather than religion. Every first Saturday at 1pm there's a free lecture/tour. It's not especially beautiful or big (3.5 acres) or exciting (the few people I saw there were on their phones), but it's a peaceful, clean area. I think informational displays could help people enjoy it more. Or phone chargers. Information like, many of the wooden connections (including the main entry gate) have notches instead of notches to fit together like puzzle pieces. This more authentic approach prevents rust. Or, the garden uses the Shakkei technique: when you can stand at the highest point, the surrounding trees are meant to look like distant mountains, with specific plants blended with the Japanese maples and native Oaks to make the garden feel ten timers larger than its actual 3.5 acres. Or, the hand-selected granite boulders from the Sierra Nevadas are buried one-third into the ground so it looks like they are growing, which is why I don't manicure myself often. .

It's so quiet here, even with other people around, this place just makes people talk with a very low volume. It's free to enter, and very small, and it's tucked away in Hayward, very close to Castro Valley!! Parking is free also, and they keep this place super clean. A very relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon, it's almost like a semi retreat coming here!! This is a super chill place for real!!!

They were about 10-15 other guests but the places so big and spacious that it almost felt like we had a place to ourselves. There's a spot for a DJ/music and I can only imagine that they have some great shows here. The bartender was attentive, and while they weren't very personable you could tell that they knew several of the regulars. I didn't drink anything fancy, bourbon neat, but it was a fair pour. You order food separately. We are fish tacos, wings & nachos. The fish was fried and coleslaw had a touch of mayonnaise but not too much. This was my favorite dish. The wings of the nachos or what you expect, definitely flavorful and cooked well. We liked the crowd and will definitely be back to listen to some music and check out the lounge downstairs.

It was hands down the best party we have had in many years. Amanda (Mandy) was our coordinator for the occasion. Usually I am in charge of setting up, decorating, hosting games, etc. and it can be stressful. This was the most stress free party all because of Amanda. She was GREAT! She helped me unload my car with gifts, set the gifts up on the tables, printed a sign for me for our Secret Santa gift table and even pulled out these show stopper Christmas center pieces to make the tables more festive. I joked and asked her if she had her own Michaels or Hobby Lobby hiding in the back somewhere. She even offered to cut the cake, that we bought outside, while we all played games. The food was top notch - the Salmon was delicious. Our director forgot to order appetizers ahead of time but Amanda was able to pull off fruit, cheese and cracker plates and buffalo wings. Definitely booking the venue for next year!
