An alright movie theater. Once the popular new theater at Deer Park, I feel that this theater feels a bit dated compared to the premium options opening in the area (particularly compared to the newest AMC theaters). One good thing is that the 16 screens is more than most theaters in the area and there's plenty of matinee options. However, the quality of the sound and screen are a notch below that of the newest theaters. Fortunately for this theater though, it is located in a very busy shopping center and there is plenty of parking available. Due to new restaurant and shopping options opening nearby, there are tons of great options for dining before and after movies at great prices as well. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my experience at your theater this evening. To start off the food area was pure madness. Not only was there nothing in stock such as hot food but it looked like a zoo of animals came in and tore up the place and left the it in shambles with wrappers, popcorn, cups, and everything in disarray. I attended the movie with my family, including my child, hoping to enjoy a fun evening together. We were seated in Row K, seats K14, K15, and K16. Directly behind us, in Row L (approximately seats L10-L17), was a group of teenage boys whose behavior completely ruined our experience. For nearly the entire movie, they were loud, disruptive, and disrespectful. They continuously talked over the dialogue, shouted, whistled, and made inappropriate comments throughout the film. They repeatedly used racial slurs and excessive profanity, including the N-word, F-word, B-word, and C-word. During the scene where Spider-Man kissed MJ, they made loud, vulgar comments that were entirely inappropriate, especially in a theater where families and children were present. Multiple guests, including my family, reported their behavior to theater staff. Despite numerous complaints from several parties, it took nearly two hours for an employee to enter the auditorium. Unfortunately, as soon as the boys noticed staff entering, they immediately became quiet. I had to personally point them out because I was so frustrated that their behavior had gone unaddressed for so long. It was not until the final 30 minutes of the movie that we were finally able to watch in relative peace. By then, however, the experience had already been ruined. We had spent over two hours listening to constant talking, shouting, profanity, and disruptions, making it difficult to even hear or follow the movie. What concerns me just as much as the behavior of these patrons was the lack of urgency shown by your staff. The group was reportedly warned twice, yet meaningful action was never taken until the movie was essentially over. They were only told they would be removed if they continued, but by that point the film was already ending and the credits were beginning. This response was far too late to protect the experience of the paying guests. I am appalled by the lack of timely intervention and the failure to maintain a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment. As paying customers, we expected staff to address this behavior promptly, especially after receiving multiple complaints. This experience has left me extremely disappointed, and unless significant improvements are made to how disruptive behavior is handled, I do not plan to return to this theater. I hope you will take this complaint seriously, review what occurred, and consider how situations like this can be handled much more effectively in the future. Additionally, I believe a refund or appropriate compensation is warranted, as we did not receive the movie experience we paid for. read more

I went to this movie theater early on a Tuesday morning. This was the first time I had been to Deer Park, and probably the last. Staff were far too busy talking to allow clients to check in, let allow too busy to clean the theater. (see photo) Again, this was the first showing of the day so that mess had been there all night. They post a movie time then you go there and the movie is canceled. When you call to ask what happened they lie and say it was never a show time. (Until they realize you caught them) I will never go to this theater if this is how they do business! Go somewhere else!! read more

I thought I had reviewed this business before, but I don't know what happened to my review. Century 16 cinema is a good place to catch movies for people of all ages. The theaters are well-maintained, the seats are good, and the sound system inside the theaters is very nice. They have a nice concession stand shop with a good variety of movie theater snacks and drinks offerings. The ticket prices are reasonable and the customer service is good. Check out value Tuesdays for a $6 ticket. I have enjoyed all my visits to this cinema and will continue to go here whenever I can. read more

Great theater to go when you want to get away from the crazy crowds at AMC. very quiet and chill movie night was to be had. Matter of fact my son and I were the only people in the theater during a afternoon movie. Snacks were standard for movie night but when you ask for extra butter you basically get a whole tub of it so make sure to say easy butter. Sometimes movie theaters can be a little overwhelming in terms of loud noises and crowds. Look no further! You'll not only find movies here but also some people watching movies. My best experience was walking in the doors waiting in line to buy tickets...and seeing a half-eaten ice cream sandwich on the table... I was happy to finally have a tasty snack. I bought my ticket to see "Incredibles 2" and sat down for a nice bite. Not only was the ice cream free, but also tasty?? Om nom nom!! The only awkward part was when the poor guy came back from the bathroom and saw me eating his ice cream, boy was that awkward, yikes! The best part, he let me keep it! I saw Furious 7 here last night, and while I enjoyed the movie for its mix of action, story, cheesy lines, and touch of sentimentality... the theater left me unimpressed. I know that it was Easter, but there was definitely a skeleton crew here for the amount of traffic. The team was attentive, but it was easy to see that they weren't excited to be in on this holiday. One unique feature of this theater (for me) was the serve-yourself concession stand. Think cafeteria/buffet style where some options, like popcorn, require an employee behind the counter to serve. I have mixed feelings about this... On one hand, it feels like the service is faster, on the other hand it's less personal and makes me feel like I've overspent to serve myself. The theater we sat in was standard; good sound, cup holders, solid picture quality. With newer theaters progressing toward reclining seats, I'd love to see this one adapt the same changes. Last comment is the restrooms. As far as I could tell, there's only one men's and one women's restroom in the building. Inconvenient if you are in the opposite side of the building and looking for a mid-movie break. Overall, this isn't a bad theater and I'm willing to concede that the employees could've just been wishing they were with family. If I'm in the area and this is the only option, I'd come here again. read more

Used to be my fav theater. Love the "buy a bucket and get cheaper refills all year" because we go to the movies a lot. Their seats are not as nice as many other theaters, but it's close and convenient. Now however they are also doing assigned seating. So to me this has pushed me over the edge. This is a decent movie theater. It has stadium seating with arms that go up between the seats. This is not a theater with assigned seating, 3D, or recliner seats. Love that they have cheap ticket Tuesday. All show times are $5.25 on Tuesday. Staff was very friendly and the theater was clean. Will come here to see a movie again. read more

'Not a bad place to catch a flick' is the most useful thing I can say about Century 16 theater. 3 stars and A-OK is about as right on as it gets here. I didn't take part in any of the concession area's goods- but I can vouch for the fact that it is/was kind of a mess with more than a few spills, straw wrappers, balled up napkins, and popcorn bits everywhere on a night that was not busy in the least. However, the popcorn and fake butter did smell what I'd imagine heaven feels like. I was tempted to buy, but refrained. I *might* be regretting that now since it's 6 hours later and I'm still thinking about it. #FattyCandi The seats are comfy and you can fold the arm rests up for optimal snuggling, so there's that. My husband and I rarely go out to see movies, but when we do, 99% of the time we come to the "Deer Park Theater." -It's a modern theater with very comfy "stadium" seats. -It has a food court with your typical theater munchies and basic meals. -There are 16 theaters and when a popular movie is out, they have it playing on a few screens. -When we came to see the latest Star Wars movie, their parking lot was full. What helped is we ordered tickets ahead of time and just walked in. -This theater is located in Deer Park, where there are restaurants and more shopping to check out Whether it's a date night, family night or just a night to get away from the normal routine--- a MOVIE is always a great escape. read more

No better than most theaters, but not the worst either. I agree with another reviewer that said the design of the theater is awful and it truly is. All the movies I have seen here have been good. I actually got accused once when I was with my mom for not paying for a hot dog. My MOM had paid for both of our hot dogs. This is a horribly designed theater. The ticket lines and ticket collection are right as you enter, making a busy Saturday night emvironment all the more congested. After purchasing the tickets in one of the 4 lines, you would do a decent thing of turning around your line or you could be one of the inconsiderate patrons who chose to make a break for another line. If the line closest to the collection booth is 20 deep, good luck making your way through. Once you are in, and decide to spring for the concessions, there are 2 wings to purchase from, one on either side. But here goes another illogical design. After waiting in line to place your order for popcorn and drinks, you are handed an empty cup to fill your drink on the other side of the line,. And be ready to anger the people who just purchased their candy and not any drinks when you cut back in line to pay at one of the 2 cashiers. This recent Saturday night, it appeared the staff was not anticipating a big crowd. For a 7:45 show, the cash registers were out of quarters, and the concession was out of popcorn. Who runs this place?! So why did I return? Free tickets. The only time a visit to this theater is warranted is a slow weekday showing. read more

3.5 for this theater. I definitely was wowed by the concession stand. Where else can you get Starbucks coffee and ice cream? I certainly haven't seen that in the theaters in VH or at Regal in Lincolnshire. I enjoyed the theater's seats and liked how you could lift up the arm rests so you can sit a little closer to your special someone if you wanted to. Other than those two pluses, it really was just like any other theater I've been to. We paid $18 for the two of us, which really is just absurd, but it is what it is. Oh, and my cashier clicked on the wrong movie. I totally said "5 Year Engagement" but somehow he printed "Chernobyl Diaries". Interesting. Came here on a Monday night to watch wall street 2. We were the only two people in there theater. You have to learn how to avoid crowds on opening night, otherwise you have no one to blame but yourself for the crowds on the weekends. This rule can be applied at other theaters as well. read more

I went there today for the first time to see Fifty Shades of Grey. I purchased my tickets on Fandango so there was no wait in the ticket line. Nice snack bar with lots of variety. First time I ever saw a Starbucks inside a theaters concession stand. Only had to wait in a line for about 10 minutes while the staff was cleaning the theater from the last showing. However, when we entered, the floor was quite messy with popcorn. I wore a sweater with a heavy long sleeve shirt under it yet about 2/3rd's of the way through the movie I began to get quite chilled. Don't know if it was a heating issue with the building or just from the extreme cold outside. Seating was comfortable and they have a nice handicapped accessible seating area which is important to me, so I will be back again. read more

I went to go see The Green Hornet in 3D. It was my 1st 3D movie, so yeah, I haven't seen Avatar. $12.25 per ticket. It was pretty empty for a Saturday afternoon and the ticket manager advised us the place was sold out because of The King's Speech. I wear glasses and it was hard for the 3D glasses to stay on over them. Next time, I'll wear contacts. This movie was also not worth the extra money for 3D. Our movie was in theater 9 which is on the right side. Unfortunately, the men's bathroom isn't that close and you have to cut through the concessions. Overall, it's pretty clean and staff is not intrusive to the movie experience. Seats are cushioned felt and armrests with drink holders can be pulled up. read more

I hate to sound crazy on a Yelp review but I hate this place. I think it is ridiculous to have "self service" concessions. It just took me 15 minutes to work through trying to get the 3 kids I brought their drinks (icee machine didn't really work so I had to dump two drinks in the garbage because neither worked) so someone asks the manager who didn't have a solution so then I lose my spot in what may have been a line but it is total chaos before a movie and then there is no candy selection. Then, the one cashier is stuck with a line, again, if you call it a line checking out people in a hurry to get to the movie and waiting to get everyone's app swiped so you get credit for your purchases. Go to the Regal down the street. They actually serve you the drinks and have a better selection. You won't have to stress out and you can actually enjoy the movie! read more

Horrible customer service. I paid 20 dollars to watch a stream of a tournament, and when i was there i noticed that the screen was cutting out at the bottom and both sides. I went to talk to a manager and they told me it wasnt their fault and there was nothing they could do about it. 1) The employees have no control on assign/reserve seating. You need to contact the Corporate Offices. They didn't want it either, but had no choice in the matter. 2) They want vinyl/pleather seats also. Corporate won't do it. If another theater is updating , this one asks for their leftovers in good condition. They can't steam clean them either. This theater is a smaller one and doesn't have the authority to get what they would like, what they know you would like and would make your visit nicer. Please don't stop going there. The more you go, the more they will have the means and the statistics to get updates. Please remember the great employees that put their heart and mind in these jobs. They want you to be happy and comfortable. They agree with most of your opinions and they relay those, but it is you-the customer-who has to let and tell the Corporate Offices about what you would like to see and have at your convenience. Went to see a movie last night, second time in last two months with the terrible seat selection system they make you use and both times a complete disaster of an experience. After movie started we had two different couples come in late and we had to stand up as they came into their reserved seats. I had a very large gentleman sitting next to me who slurped his very large drink and spilled his popcorn on my lap! And while I felt I was sitting in the middle seat of a cross country flight 70% of the theatre had empty seats! I will never return to this theatre until this seat reservations system is gone! This is a great movie theater and close to my casa. Very good establishment and very well stocked with any and all food you need unless you sneak it in. They have plenty of different theaters and my only complaint is they don't have IMAX yet. Otherwise a great local theater. read more

Normally I thnk this theater is fine. It's not the best but it's definitely not the worst. I came here on Sunday, January 2nd, to see The King's Speech (EXCELLENT film!) and there was only one person ringing up all of the people ordering food. It was mayhem. There were spills all over the floor and people running into one another while waiting in line to pay for their refreshments. Apparently, they had sent the other cashier home early. Not smart. The prices are steep, just like every other movie theater. It's convenient to me because of its location but they should really hire some managers who can actually manage! read more

We came to Century 16 on Christmas day and saw 'Saving Mr. Banks'. Honestly, I think my sister and I were the youngest people in that theater, but that's the way it goes sometimes. The theater was standard: weird carpet, giant movie posters/ads, the smell of popcorn, and a handful of people waiting for the rest of their group. This was my first trip here, but I thought the layout was a little strange: The ticket booths are immediately to the right as you walk in, and the giant cardboard ads (mentioned above) corralled patrons to the ticketing area; with that set up, the result is a 'cluster' that takes place both before and after films [i.e. people entering and buying tickets vs. those exiting]. Sidebar: Should a brewha break out, I feel like the ultimate weapon to do the most damage would be hailing spoilers at the ticketing line... That said, the staff did a great job. It was Christmas day, and no matter what your beliefs are, it still sucks to work on a holiday (all paychecks aside). They were excellent at quickly cleaning the theater after a show, ringing up customers at the ticket booth & concession stand, answering questions that people had, and maintaining a high morale--they were all pretty cheerful and tried to pass that onto customers. What really surprised me was how vicious individuals can be even during the holidays. I witnessed a few 'people' DESPERATE for their popcorn and drinks and could care less about others, the staff, and the cleanliness of the concession area. We let the babies have their bottle and gave them access to the spot in front of us in line... Doing this actually helped our cause as we were able to get the rude people out of that area, AND we could talk trash to the cashier about them (she just smiled - very PR savvy). I will be back in the next coming months because they have an awesome lineup of classic movies. I forgot they did that, and have probably missed out on a number of films I want to see in a theater (including 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'). I'm thinking for the future, that I'll target a closer theater for everyday movies, but definitely check Cinema 16 for the classics and 'in select theaters' movies. TL;DR: The theater is standard, but they get bonus points from the staff, classic movie lineup, and cleanliness. read more
