I think the right word to describe Cinergy is "unique" . Came here on V-Day to see Crime 101. A different look and feel compared to theatres like AMC and Regal. It looks quite modern inside, and has more extras for guests including a bar, games etc. The biggest standout and the reason for that wording s the self serve popcorn. (Like, What??) It was an interesting experience to fill my own bucket but it was cool. The popcorn was nothing super special but it was good quality. The staff are friendly enough and I don't really have much negative to say. However, I will say that the process of getting in and having our tickets checked was a bit hectic as they have you go in the side door and wait in a single queue. We tried a pizza from their menu and it was pretty good. Would recommend. Slightly confusing for new comers but not really much to be concerned about. We went and saw The Devil Wears Prada 2. I booked the tickets online. I got the best seats I could, but the best seats, the seats I really wanted we're blocked indicating the seats were taken. When I got to the theater, the seat that I really wanted were empty. In fact, over half the theater was empty. The tickets were $18. Snacks with a drink for 2 people for $23.40. And a small glass of wine cost $10.53. Over $50 for two people to watch a movie. The only reason I gave this review any stars at all was the fact that the theater was exceptionally clean. read more

Good place to see a movie but stay away from theatre 7. The Good: best seating, great pricing. A low Tuesday matinee price that can't be beat! The bad: Only one popcorn size @$8.00. Popcorn is self service though, and that means free refills. Auditorium lights are kept on through the coming attractions. The Ugly: Light leakage from the hallway in theatre 7 leaves a light reflection across the bottom of the screen. I reported this to management. Hopefully they will address it. read more

I was looking for something a bit more affordable than some of the larger chains where it's about $15-$20 or more to watch a movie -- and have limited matinee and discount options and found Cinergy Cinemas as an option. I was quite pleased with my experience from start to finish as this met my expectations at all levels. Parking here isn't super difficult, as there is parking on either side of the theater -- though not directly in front of the theater. Lines moved quickly and prices for concessions were not too bad, with a bit more than the usual options of food. Though I wish that there were washrooms for both genders on both ends of the theater, the theater itself is fortunately small enough that this isn't a huge issue even if you are in the theater furthest away from your restroom. In terms of seating, the recliners were super comfortable and generously sized. Even after watching a nearly 3 hour movie, I was completely relaxed and in no rush to get out of the seat. Previews for the movie did feel a bit shorter than normal (like around 10 minutes), so do make sure you show up close to show time. The audio and video quality was alright, though not the highest end that I've seen -- but also much better than expected given the pricing. Overall, it's worth going here if you live in the area. Despite the lower than normal pricing, you're getting a good quality experience without any real drawbacks. There's also a considerable number of dining options around the town center and around Milwaukee Avenue that are great to try after your movie. read more

This is one of my top 3 movie theaters- period. It's a unique theater in that in addition to movies, they have a nice bar, bag toss, pool tables, and a fun ambiance. The recliner seats are awesome and they have a great menu of food/drink items you can deliver to your seat. Movie prices are super affordable and love Discount Tuesdays. Absolutely love this theater. The seats are so comfortable and large. Love that they recline so far back and the arm tray is such a genius idea. This is a newer theater so it is still in great condition and they keep the place so cleans. The bathrooms are always pristine in addition to the theaters. I have not yet ordered food but love the convenience of just putting the order in your phone and the food will be delivered directly to your seat. The chairs again are soooo comfortable and every seat, even in the back has a great view of the screen as each theater is not that large. In addition to the theater they have a bar/lounge that has plenty of tables and chairs. The lounge area also has a corn hole set as well as a massive Jenga set as well. read more

Watched a few movies from here and at first it was great. Then second time, we can hear the employees talk the whole time the movie was playing, we walk out and they're standing right outside the movie. Today, I planned a whole day while my daughter attend a birthday party at the movies (12 noon- 3:45 pm); I also tried to watch a movie knowing the movie was to play at 1:25 PM. Since it was 12 noon, I went next door to have lunch and came back to buy tickets at 1:15 PM for the 1:25 PM movie and they already cancelled the movie before the start time. read more

My husband and I met a friend at Cinergy Cinemas in Wheeling to watch Wicked. When you enter you see a large bar area compete with a large number of TV screens, billiards tables, bags games boards, and plenty of seats. After purchasing tickets online, we had to check in at the front counter. We were given paper tickets to turn in before we got to the theater. At the front desk we bought a pack of three cookies to enjoy during the movie. The cookies were pretty good and only cost $4.99. The theaters are large with super comfortable recliner chairs. A major disappointment. We've had good experiences with Cinergy before, so we were looking for more of the same when we went to the Wheeling location. The place looks great from the outside, big windows, people having fun in the bar while waiting for their movie. Inside, popcorn, candy and soda are self-service. However, this night they were out of pretty much everything. Only Diet Coke and Gatorade remaining. No bottled water, either, only tap water in thin plastic cups, with no lids. And no napkins. Cleaning the theater kept us out until just before showtime. When they finally let us in, it looked like it probably could have used another 20 minutes. Also, the restroom was pretty filthy. No paper towels, either. The seats are pretty much the highlight of the visit. Large, comfy, not so slick you feel like you're going to slide out, reclining on command. Useable little tables with a barcode on it to bring up the menu on your phone. The menu is pretty limited. Burger with or without cheese and barbecue sauce, pizza with or without pepperoni, fries with or without cheese, those were the choices. Even with the limited menu, they managed to mess up our order. Had to go out in the hall and flag somebody down to get it fixed. Still no napkins. The food was fine, but not great. The burgers were boring. We could still taste the onions that had been removed from them at our request. The fries, likewise, were boring, unless you add cheese, then they became nasty. The pizza was OK until it cooled off. On the whole, not worth paying to eat there. Better to go to a basic cinema and splurge on a nice restaurant. read more

I ended up coming back here because it had the best seating availability for the movie we wanted to see. Still not a great experience. The problem with getting water from the bar has been addressed with two coolers next to the soda fountain. I can't imagine the staff enjoys keeping those filled. As for the fountain... well, you could have any drink you wanted as long as it was Barq's or Diet Coke, because the rest of the options were Out Of Order. This challenge was addressed by stocking 12oz. plastic bottles, but again, that's got to be taking a toll on the staff. I've never noticed in the past how poorly placed the concession stand is, but this is the first time I've arrived when the theater was busy. The concession stand is right in front of the front door, which creates a bottleneck. The bar area, meanwhile, was completely empty. Maybe they should be switched. Finally, this is the first time in years (decades?) I've attended a movie with no previews. That's great! I love it. Give me 20 minutes back in my life, and I avoid spoilers. A heads up would be nice though, since I factor previews into my ETA. read more

08/27/23 - Was $4.00 movie day. I've been wanting to see Oppenheimer & was finally able to go see it at this beautiful theater. Unfortunately I waited too long to get tickets & was in the front row looking up at this massive screen in front of me. Normally this could be a problem but fear not the seats @ Cinergy Cinema recline to an almost horizontal position allowing you to watch the movie wo/staining your neck looking up at the screen. I have been to this theater before even though it's 20 miles away from home. The draw was the want see Oppenheimer movie @ the $4 price for a movie at this beautiful theater w/large cushy comfortable reclining seats. These chairs also have a small table that pivots making it easy to get in & out of your seat & a pocket for a cup holder. You can get spoiled enjoying the large comfortable seats. read more

This theatre fell off quick from the food to the cleanliness. Service sucked too, ordered 3 burgers and a pizza , was notified that they were out of pizza, after the server brought out the burgers ( bread was burnt), so my daughter had to wait another 30 mins for her burger ( ketchup only), unfortunately came out w everything. Last week, we purchased tickets online for an 8:40 PM showing on Sunday. The tickets were confirmed and paid for, but when we arrived the theater was closed. No cancellation email, no notification, and no refund. We were told to call the manager, but after a week of daily calls and voicemails, we received no response. I like this place. They tell me like it is. The movies on Tuesdays are $6. AMC will tell you that movies are $5 on Tuesday, IF AND ONLY IF, the movies are shown standard (not laser, 4K, HD, under water, in a box with a fox, not with green eggs and ham and they don't care if you're Sam). It is $6. You pick your seats. You can get the usual popcorn, candy, and soda, or capture the QR code at your seat and order other food, beer, wine or cocktails. Every other day of the week they have standard movie theater pricing. And this past summer they have 80s horror movie slasher nights that I discovered when looking up showtimes for current movies. I got to see Fright Night (the 8os original, not the Colin Farrel crappy version) and An American Werewolf in London. I wish I knew about it sooner to catch other great films from my youth. Most recently, I saw Deadpool vs Wolverine there, on a Tuesday night. Guess how much it was..and it was a great movie! While other chains have more screens, the price is right and the food options are better, in my opinion. read more

We had a wonderful time here. We just went into the restaurant first to see if we eat and then go see a movie as it turned out the show we wanted to see it wasn't available for a while so we had a drink at the bar. What a beautiful bar empty and very clean Really great bartender is very nice and they have games we could play so I guess we could go in anytime whether you've seen a movie or not. That is something I will definitely be doing and I'll invite my people from work to come here. They have pool tables and some other kind of a game. I'm not sure what it is. It's a long table and then I think you slide things down it I'm not sure how it works and they have bags, I feel like to play that game and they have lounge couches and it's very nice atmosphere lots of TV for the sports guys but I definitely come back here The movie theaters are beautiful there's seven of them and they have big reclining seats with tables and if we knew our numbers we could've ordered drinks but that was OK. I wasn't that big of a fan of the movie we saw hunger games I think I'd have to watch the whole series to understand it a little violent for me beautiful costumes in the movies though and it's really amazing the design set. So the movie itself was OK but the theater was beautiful. Great acoustics big reclining chairs. My boyfriend said this is like a first class experience and it really is those chairs are amazing, I'm glad I brought my heavy coat because it was cold in there and I feel like these theaters are kind of cold and too bring something warm. I think some of them offer blankets. The layout was inefficient and weird. You're forced to get tickets and order food from the same line right in front of the door and a short distance from it. Kind of forcing a relatively short line to go outside. Literally no soda available. The machine was broken. While I understand that could happen, why force guests to use the horribly tiny clear water cups? Giving a regular cup in that case is a reasonable ask. The floors were dirty at the start of the movie. But the chairs are very very nice. Wide and comfortable and lay WAY back. The food was good and fresh. But the projector seemed either out of focus or just dated. Not the worst experience but poorly managed. At least on the night I was there. read more

I went to see Moana 2 and after waiting 40 Min for a small cheese personal pizza they brought out a pizza sitting under a lamp for 15 min and sprinkled cheese on top of it. Extremely disappointed in today's experience. We have been going to this theater since it's opening day. Today was the last straw. The menu has been completely cheapened; the popcorn has now twice in a row been stale. The customer service is non-existent. We went to see a movie today, and it was offset and not even full screen. The previews were extremely blurry, which made us go and inform them at the front. They adjusted the screen's sharpness slightly, but not enough. Once the movie started, it was still not full screen and still blurry. We went up to the employees and brought it up again and one said "we're having technical difficulties" and the other said "that's how the movie company sent it to us." I've never been to a theater where the movie isn't taking up the full screen. We suffered through the offset movie that was so blurry that it looked like it was shot on an android phone for 10 minutes and left. The only good thing is the seats at this theater, but I'm sure they will close down soon, since they don't know how to properly show movies, have stale popcorn, and don't apologize for not being able to provide the only service people go there to experience. I'm noticing each movie has usually 5 couples, so it's not long before they are out of business. What a huge disappointment. read more

Cinergy movie theater in Wheeling is a good place to watch movies while enjoying your favorite foods and drinks. This movie theater is part of a chain of theaters owned by Cinergy Entertainment Group, Inc., based out of Dallas, Texas. Cinergy theaters feature recline-and-dine cinemas with alcoholic beverages and a menu of chef-inspired American favorite foods. I had come across a Groupon deal for this theater that included a movie ticket and medium popcorn for just $8. I took advantage of this deal and went to see Avatar - The Way of the Water. Cinergy theater is located in the (relatively) newly created entertainment and shopping area of Wheeling off Dundee Rd. & Northgate Parkway by the Wheeling Metra Station. There's plenty of parking available in the Lots surrounding the movie theater. Upon entering, I went straight to the ticket counter and informed one of the ticket attendants that I was there to see a movie and wanted to use my Groupon pass. I was directed to a different attendant who was responsible for scanning the Groupon passes and providing tickets. I was given my ticket based on the Groupon deal after I selected my seat. I was instructed to order my popcorn while in the theater as the popcorn deal expired at the end of the movie. Avatar 2 was playing on Screen 1 which was the first one on the left past the ticket counter. On my way to Screen 1, I passed by the entertainment area where they had pool tables, several TVs, a lounging area, etc. Upon entering theater Screen 1, I promptly grabbed my seat which was in the last row and the middle. The theater room itself wasn't big but the modern, stadium-style seating was spacious, and the seats themselves were quite comfy and relaxing. There was a movable table tray attached to each seat. It had a QR code that we could scan to view the dining menu and order directly from it. I only looked for the popcorn that I was going to get as I didn't want to waste time looking up other items that I was not going to buy and the movie was going to start soon. I placed my popcorn order and sat back to relax. My popcorn came shortly after. I tipped my server and thanked them for their service. The popcorn was buttery and fresh. They were quite flavorful. I couldn't stop eating them. Those were arguably the best theater popcorn I had. The picture quality and sound system were great. I had a very good movie-watching experience. My only complaint was that the screen size was pretty small, especially for a movie like Avatar. Not only the screen size was smaller than average but also, the screen was flat and not curved. For a great movie-watching experience, especially when watching epic blockbusters like Avatar, you ought to have big size screens with a curve (to go along with great picture quality and sound system). I am not sure if the other screens in the theater have big sizes or not. After the movie was over, I walked around the entertainment and lounge areas to scope out the place. There's a nice bar too for enjoying drinks before and after the movie. There are plenty of TVs to watch sporting events or whatever else is playing at a given time. I felt that this theater is a wonderful place to go with friends, and family or on a date and have a good time. Their regular-priced ticket is not expensive ($8.32) unlike AMC or other big chain theaters. They have seniors and child ticket discounts too. Overall, four stars from me, and the only reason I didn't give the full five stars is because of the screen size assuming that's the case with the other screens too. And of course, I haven't tried any of their other food (or drink) offerings or know their pricing to determine if the business is worth the full five stars or not. I would give this place zero stars if I could- you can't even bring a reusable water bottle into the theater. You must buy a water or put your water in a plastic cup and leave your water bottle behind the counter. So you are going to tell someone who needs to have water they can't bring it in? Great theater! The seats are enormous, comfortable and have buttons that let you recline with a foot rest. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. Concessions include popcorn and candy as well as pizza, sandwiches and nachos, which can be ordered by scanning a QR code at your seat and paying by credit card. The QR code is linked to your seat, and the food is delivered while you watch the movie. I poked in here while killing some time at the newish Wheeling Town Center. This is a brand new dine-in theatre (only open a month) and apparently the first in Illinois for this Dallas based chain. Not actually having had a movie-watching experience here, I'll leave a 4 star I-don't-know-any-better-and-with-a-benefit-of-any-doubt rating based on my look-around and chatting with Andrea, a friendly staffer here. They have an attractive full bar and lounge area and any drink order can be brought or delivered to your seat in the theatre along with food orders of course. I didn't check on prices, but everything is sleek, modern, and clean. The best news for this retiree is that Tuesdays are $5 all day, so I'll try to make it back sometime for a big screen experience. read more

We really like this theater.Just so you are aware the outside windows and when you walk in are very dirty. Everything is spotless and brand new! Looking at the seat map I thought there might be obstruction to the seats in front of me but was pleased - the row was so wide I had a perfect view of the screen. I think my favorite part is when you scan the barcode to see the snacks, it shows you a countdown to how many minutes are left as well as an option to change seats. We saw the Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie at Cinergy Cinemas because the AMC near us was sold out. The theater was nice and big (screen #2) and the chairs were super comfy. We had to buy the popcorn and soda from the front desk though because ordering from your seat was only available for entrees and other hot food. The only disappointing thing was that they didn't have the Taylor Swift movie mini-posters or the popcorn bucket. We were only able to get the cups and we went opening weekend. The paper popcorn buckets also didn't hold the movie butter well and it soaked through. read more

My first time here to watch the new Barbie movie on opening day. I was worried that it would be busier later as people get out of work so we ended up going to a 2 pm show. I was able to secure my Barbie beach ball cocktail at the bar and then headed to the theater. There's a QR code at the seats and you can choose various menu items. Fountain drinks and popcorn are available for purchase at the concession stands and the only beverage you can order in theater is the bottled water or other alcoholic beverages (which I didn't mind too much since I already had my cocktail). The food menu was a little limited but still had decent options. I was starving since this was my first meal of the day so I wanted to order everything I could. I ended up getting the quesadilla with chips and salsa, chicken tenders with fries and a pepperoni pizza. Yeah, it was a it of food and could barely fit between two of our tray tables. The food was decent and was perfect with the movie. I was still able to enjoy the food without getting too distracted to watch the movie. This was a really nice theater and super swanky. Should be a great place to take any sizable group. +Enough pool tables if thats your thing +Decent bar. Staff was attentive. +Food was good. Very satisfied and we had a good chunk of the menu. Services reduced, but prices stay the same. When this theater opened a few months ago I quickly jumped on their Groupon to drive in new business. Happy to pay full price when the deals ran out. I had many great experiences at the theater during this early onboarding period. But it seems like the good times are coming to a close. In the past month or so, the menu options have been greatly reduced, beverages and popcorn are no longer delivered to your seat, water in the theater went from free to $5+?!. It's very disappointing to see what I thought would be my new "home base" theater making desperate cash grabs and quickly reducing service.
