In its current state, Flower Child is walking into a retro basement that has decades of treasure! LAYOUT/INVENTORY: The store has two levels with multiple rooms of treasure. Both levels have similar merchandise - home goods, kitchen tools, some furniture, abundance of accessories, clothing, vinyls, and some interesting international decor. Just when you think you ran out of rooms, there are more rooms of treasure to browse. I especially loved the basement. Every room is a treasure hunt! If you wear petite sizes, this is a treasure trove of vintage clothing. You'll find tees, dresses, sweaters, and pants. The clothing is casual and functional. Check out all the clothing rooms on the main level and basement. VALUE: The discounts on merchandise of 70% is a great value. However, the initial prices are quite high considering the quality. Some of the clothing and items are very well loved. I don't see myself paying full prices for the items to be extremely honest. SERVICE: The staff was very nice to customers during checkout. There was a lot of excitement about the upcoming store move. They staff was always very busy. Personally, I wanted to ask about the pricing for a folk pin I was eyeing. There was no one to ask so I eventually gave up. I'm sure the service is more attentive during the regular days. PARKING: I was surprised to find a pretty large parking lot at the back of the building considering the location is in Lakewood. Amazing if you're carrying home a lot of treasure. Not every store can accept items to sell. I saw the store's hat collection and it's a LARGE collection. TOO MUCH INVENTORY (in my opinion) -- Everything is crammed in this store. I browsed around the store before I left and I was amazed as to how much inventory is in here. I even commented on the inventory and the owner stated that he has no real method of keeping track of everything which is a bit concerning. While the owner is really nice, the store is too packed with MANY items. The experience walking in feels a bit overwhelming especially because some parts of the store are not neat. It is even hard to walk through the store as some of the spaces between racks are tight. I'm sorry to say but this store looks like a junk yard with some very old and used items. MY PURCHASE -- I bought a white cotton hat plus earrings. The hat cost around $25 and the earrings were around $14. I realized later that these were slightly overpriced. When I got home, I noticed a stain on my hat and I also noticed that one piece of the earring is a bit flimsy (loose). I'll try to remove the stain off of my cotton hat but it looks pretty permanent which isn't ideal but it is a nice hat. The store sells clothing (tops, pants, jackets, dresses, sweaters), cups/mugs, hats, and other random things. Many items don't look new so I'm assuming some are used items. I prefer an organized store where the racks are not overflowing with items and where items aren't very old (some look like used items) so I probably won't be back. Rather, Reincarnation is a carefully and artistically curated near-museum of a shop. I was in awe of the floor-to-ceiling flat-file shelving unit. I seriously would have purchased it if I had space for it. I ended up leaving with some fun trinkets that I'll be gifting for Christmas: a keychain made from an Ohio license plate, a goat's milk cap magnet, and two antique chandelier crystal ornaments for the Christmas tree. According to my friend, this place is always changing (in a good way). They'll rearrange as new pieces come in. I love the setup, as I thought it highlighted the unique pieces perfectly. Vintage Xmas ornaments? Got them. Vintage purses? Got them. Glassware of all eras and designs? Yep! One tip to this store is make sure you get to their basement. Items tend to be reduced or are garage sale finds that may not be that old but that are worth buying. I frequently find leather travel frames and interesting mirrors and boxes in the basement. Parking is plentiful with meters and there are other antique stores on both sides of the street.
