Dr. Wendy Lanser possesses extensive and innumerably detailed knowledge about human physiology, even an MD would not. She is thorough to the hilt about how several imbalances would cause an abnormality in a specific part. I was tormented by intense, debilitating pain above my left eye for close to 2 years. I went through so much- Lost productivity, racing thoughts, uncontrollable anxiety, unable to make clear decisions and major depression. At times, due to the pain, I used to go completely blank and lose my ability to think and concentrate (brain fog). I was grimacing in pain; I lost myself. NUCCA Chiropractic is a blessing to medical science and being a NUCCA chiropractor is a noble profession. It has given me a relief I never though was possible, where the traditional medicine has failed me, big time. Two MRI'S and a CT scan were performed on me. The interpretation- apart from a minor flattening of the cervical spine, there were no worrisome symptoms. This is all what the western medicine could make of my inexplicable pain. Pathetically narrow of a view. The MD's are tablet-obsessed people who dint know what to do with this and provide a long lasting relief. Time and again, the symptom of the neck pain (headache) was being treated by Neuropathic pain medications, Botox, Nerve Hydro-dissection, Epidural steroids and many unnecessary tests, all of which proved to be massively ineffective. None of the MD's even thought about the upper cervical spine C1, to be the devil. A year and half of time was wasted from not getting the right treatment (knocking on the wrong door) . Then one day, I found that my neurologist had a history of abusive medical practices! Were I entrapped in quackery? I do not have respect for the MD's anymore and will not hold them in high regard. All this occurred while I was pursuing my Master's. My time was consumed by going for Chiropractic and Acupuncture. Consequently, my study time was severely hampered. Nevertheless, Chiropractic and Acupuncture helped to pacify the pain a little and manage it. Upon my first meeting with a physical therapist, he artificially recreated the pain and only then, I had the moment of epiphany! Was it the Upper Cervical pain which had been wrecking havoc on me for the past year and a half? I came across other people's stories on several forums and realized that I was not alone. I felt pity for the people who have been grimacing in pain for several years. How enraged they would have been with the MD's for letting them down and screwing them up over and again? A fellow patient at the clinic described her struggle and how she had been failed by the MD's, who downplayed it and asked her to live with it. I could empathize with her, because I too have been in the same boat. Dr. Wendy Lanser has been the biggest and the greatest 'boon' that I have ever crossed paths with in my life. She is a woman with a 'Midas touch', and her treatment worked wonders on me right from the word 'go', at the very first visit. You don't even have to tell her what you are suffering from. With just an X-ray and some body alignment measurements, Dr. Lanser can pinpoint all the abnormalities and what imbalances cause them. It was only after her detailed explanation of my X-ray, I learnt more about how the subluxations tortured the daylights out of me. That's when my intuition told me that I found the right person. Alas, someone finally captured what I was suffering from, without even digging into my medical history!!! With just 2 treatments, I was already in awe of Dr. Lanser for the relief achieved. Experienced a new, rejuvenated 'me' after so long. How did I even survive with such an amount of pain? She stumps me and says "I have been treating only 1 parameter right now". 'Methodical' is the name of her game; she knows exactly how to structure your treatment plan. What was so flabbergasting was, there was a dramatic relief without even any twisting at all and right after my first treatment, I found myself being able to sleep without the sleeping pill. I have been so used to experiencing aggressive twisting chiropractic. However, with Dr. Lanser's NUCCA technique, I still wonder how it works, to give a miraculous relief. Fast forward 4 and half months: The pain has been drastically tamed and annihilated by the 'Pain rider' Dr. Lanser's divine touch. The intensity has reduced to just a little pressure and reached a point where I don't suffer from unbearable pain at all. When the pain attacks, it is endurable and goes away in as little as 2 hours. My digestion has been overhauled and reset to a normal state. To add an icing on the cake, my anxiety is at an all-time low and depression is no longer my master, I am able to talk myself out of depression.

She asked lots of questions and thoughtfully explained each procedure before performing it. She also made sure I was comfortable with each treatment throughout the appointment. I was there for help with neck pain. Victoria did soft tissue work, stretches, gua sha, and a few careful adjustments. She followed up the appointment with an email that contained links to videos of exercises she recommends for me and info about Thera Cane, a muscle release tool that can get to hard to reach places. The office is clean and tidy. It is located on the second floor and I didn't see an elevator. They have a private parking lot in back. I was pleasantly surprised to discover they accept Kaiser insurance.

When I politely told them that I didn't need my husband and if I could pick an appointment that works for me, they did not listen to me and forced me to take a delayed weekend appointment because my husband doesn't work weekends. I left giving them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I misunderstood etc. A few days later, I canceled my appointment in hopes of getting an appointment that best worked with my schedule, as I am in chronic pain and don't want to schedule based on my husband's availability. I let them know explicitly that I was canceling my appointment because I needed to book on my availability, not my husband's. The gal literally responded with, "Would your husband be available to video call in?" At this point, my frustration and overall "ick" confirmed that this is not the chiro for me. For as much pain as I live in, it's illogical to delay care unless it works with my husband's schedule. As an Army veteran, I do not appreciate being made to feel like I need a chaperone. As a 40+ year old woman who is (for all intents and purposes) the CEO of all things medical in our family, this felt needlessly sexist. When I directly asked why I needed a chaperone I was told, "I'm sorry you feel that way; it's not a chaperone it so that he can sign off/approve of [my] treatment plan". Her level of knowledge and care for me as her patient is second to none. She spends a very long time with me each time I see her to relieve the soreness in my muscles (especially my upper right shoulder) and to re-allign my skeleton. She continually gives me tips (and gentle nudging) about what I can do at home to make my health better. If she didn't care about me and how I progress, she would continually do monitor and help me. I like her so well, that I referred my husband and two of my friends to her. My husband has had problems with his lower back for years. With a simple wedge Dr. Osgood had him wear in his shoes, he has had no back pain since! A simple $5.00 piece of plastic in his shoe did the trick when he's been recommended surgery by other doctors. After telling them I was here to see Dr Kathryn, they tell me that she's not available for 2 weeks and they could re-schedule me then. it was very disappointing experience not only because they waste my time but that after 5 emails and 4 text messages they could figure out that she was not available for 2 weeks it's insane to me.

Well my body is completely out of sync. All doctors want to do is some *quick little surgery* to take care of "this or that". So I call on a woman named Setereh over at A Center For Natural Healing since the girls at work recommended her. She has been so attentive, kind, and caring ~ she asked a lot of questions about what I've been going through, and trying to customize a regimen that is right for me. As of now, my pain is slowly but surely going away with acupuncture. The swelling is under control, and hopefully soon, it will go away entirely.
