Everything worth anything in here is gone. The interior is still as classy as ever, with some really fun common spaces for the kids, like the treehouse. But there's no Apple Store. No burger joint. And every escalator was not operational when I visited. The only reason I was there, was to donate blood. The AMC is still around, but the whole place looks like a zombie apocalypse. This is a nice, clean, and still modern mall but unfortunately, it's practically empty and a ghost town.  It's been like that for years but tenants are still slowly leaving and the last one I can remember leaving was Apple.  Neiman Marcus is still open as is a large Gap store and a few other smaller merchants.  Di Pescara still operates as a good Italian restaurant.  AMC still operates a cinema here.  My older grand-darling once had a fun and artsy birthday party at Painted Penguin and fortunately they are still hanging in here also.  If we were close by, it would be a great and comfortable mall for mall walking in bad weather, which we do occasionally at Golf Mill Mall in Niles.  But unlike Golf Mill, this mall doesn't feel or look very dated at all.  I don't know what the future holds, but I have always and still do enjoy visiting here despite how quiet it currently is.  In the meantime, I'll just keep my fingers crossed that somehow fresh life will one day be resurrected here. read more

Haven't been this way in a bit. Sad to see a lot of the stores have closed their doors. It was, however, good to see Santa at the mall for the kids to experience. That set up was really nice. We ventured out to shop the Apple store for new phones. The staff was very nice. There is a nice play area for the kids just outside of the store. We also spotted Sephora and Silver Corner. There is a lot of seating area on the first floor, we did not venture to the second floor at all. Our visit was still nice, but sad. read more

Northbrook Court mall is great... but only if the particular store you want is still in business there. I say that because it's easy to find parking and it's never crowded. However, it will however never be crowded because most of the stores are just empty spots. The main stores there are Gap, Sephora, Lululemon, Claire's, and an Apple Store. The only 'busy' store is the Apple Store. If you have small kids, it is a nice mall to take them to for the tree and the newer play area on the second floor. But beware if they are allergic to dogs, this is definitely a 'go to' spot now for dog walkers, especially when the weather is not so great. The kids would probably also enjoy The Painted Penguin store. I hope that eventually this mall gets an update, it used to be the 'it' mall back in the day. I hope that in a few years I can update this to a stellar review! read more

This rating is for the Pet Photos with Santa. We made a reservation this evening and basically walked right in because there was no one in line. Santa was amiable and friendly and was able to corral these two little squirmers while the elf helper took the photos. The pictures were fine; some had digital backgrounds added. The setting still looks good; nothing looked worn or faded. The pictures are a little pricey considering I was also taking pics on my phone. The whole experience makes me a little sad because one family came as we were finishing up but basically the mall was empty. Good on Santa and his helper for being enthusiastic and lively for our pictures. We walked around a little but I didn't see any other families (or dogs) lined up for photos. Shortly after I arrived home I also received a digital link for the photos -- the helper said it might take up to 24 hours for the pics but here they are. 4.5 stars read more

A bit challenging to write about this spot because it was quite pleasant to walk around a somewhat busy before the pandemic with more shops open -- but now feels like half the shops are gone and much quieter. The big draw of this mall still is the spacious layout, more upscale look, and unique areas that are nice to casually sit around and enjoy. That alone is a good reason to choose this mall over some others as it is definitely relaxing. Even with a reduced number of shops, there's still enough different options to spend some time here, such as going to AMC to watch a movie, shopping at the Apple store, eating at restaurants such as PF Changs or California Pizza Kitchen, and shopping at Neiman Marcus. Where there isn't a dazzling array of choices, there's at least a few options of each of the major categories. Without a dedicated food court, it is not as convenient to find some cheaper options, but Tony and Bruno's, Red Mango, and Auntie Anne's provide some more budget friendly options. Unfortunately, the options outside of the shopping center seem to be getting more competitive, making this an option if you're specifically looking for a mall, but won't be super appealing if it doesn't fill up with a wider variety of shopping/food options to make visiting here more interesting. read more

How malls are hanging on I have no idea. Especially this one when Woodfield and Old Orchard are not terribly far away. Northbrook Court tries to cater to some of the fancy north shore suburbs though with stores like Neiman Marcus, Arhaus, Tiffany's, etc. and then a lot of your standard mall fare, including an Apple Store. There's an AMC Theatre here as well; it's a two story theatre and although it wasn't my favorite of them pre-pandemic, it wasn't bad and it does have recliner seating, which is a plus. They also have a children's play area right next to the Lego store so they want you to bring your little ones! Parking is plentiful, and there's some EV parking as well near the AMC. read more

This is mostly for the parents! If you're looking for something free to take your littles, this place is great. Pretty empty, and their play area is nice and spacious! They clean it every 2 hours. There's a family restroom right across from that play area, and a nursing station near the restrooms on the upper level. The restrooms also have changing stations in the men and women's! I have a two year old and a 5 month old, so all of this was amazing. The two year old could run around, and I could nurse the 5 month old in a spacious room that could fit my double stroller as well There's a larger playroom upstairs...but it was locked/closed. Not sure when it's open, but it looks super nice read more

This is a hard review to do because I visited Northbrook Court during a renovation. There were a lot of areas that were blocked off and it didn't look its best. My husband and I had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. We had a really good time there and I recommend eating there. I can't wait to go back after the construction is finished and set what is new to explore. read more

There's nothing here! All they got is forever 21, a baby sorry ( why I went ), two restaurants, good bathrooms, AMC and one department store, don't waste your time everything is pretty much shut down. If your a mom going here for Galt baby there is a nursing room in the woman's bathroom up stairs. The chair sucks and so did the ventilation. If you over heat easily like my baby and I, it's not recommended. read more

Northbrook Court is "dead." There are so many empty spaces in the mall. The only "happening" place is Neiman Marcus, and this, too, had more employees than customers. They're in need of a major overhaul. For a better shopping experience, go to Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. read more

It's a completely different vibe in the mall than it was 40 years ago. Call it the Amazon effect, call it the economy, call it what you will, but aside from some mall walkers, some dog walkers, and store employees, the place was pretty empty. The west end of the mall has been torn away, the facility is down to two pairs of escalators, and one pair of escalators was down when we were there. There are lots of empty spaces. The busiest store was the Apple store. A once respectable food court, narrowed, whittled, eliminated down to one Italian style fast food restaurant. There are displays of an artist rendering of what the mall will look like in the future, It's over by where Sur La Table used to be, it will someday be a mixed use development of retail and residential, but who knows? Old Orchard is doing the same thing, and The Glen seems to be struggling a bit. Northbrook Court used to be packed with holiday shoppers, packed with stores, the movie theaters would be packed. Now it looks like Northbrook Court is starting to pack it in. Too bad. It's a nice place to walk, and if you grew up living in the area, a nice place to reminisce of how great it once was. read more

The mall is basically empty with the exception of the Movie Theatre which is understaffed and filthy. No management ever seems to be present and the people who are in the mall usually are loitering. I have seen feces on the floor more than once inside the mall. People walk their pets in the mall during winter. I would say the mall is pretty much a large empty shell that seems abandoned with one end that has Neiman Marcus that seems to go by their own hours and rules. The whole mall feels unsafe and there is really no shopping options left. Just a creepy place in general now. Too bad it used to be such a different place 20 years ago. RIP NBC.... read more

Unfortunately, it appears the pandemic and resulting economic backslide have given Northbrook Court a severe one-two punch. While walking through this spacious mall with our family in early December, it was noted that at least half the retail space, and all foodservices, were shuttered down. The center court had a Santa station set up, but in the time we were there, I don't think more than 3 or 4 kids went up to sit on the jolly guy's lap. It was kid of sad to see what was apparently once a wonderful destination go down in this way. I truly hope they recover. read more

One star for the sadness I felt walking through this mall over the weekend, on a Saturday, in the middle of the day :-( You know those abandoned mall TV shows where the punk kids sneak in and take videos and walk around? I'm so hopeful that doesn't happen with Northbrook Court. This mall has been our family go-to forever. Northbrook Court used to be legendary. I remember watching my kids climb around in the treehouse. I've been to so many movies at the AMC. When Macy's left, and they literally tore off that part of the mall, I was so excited for the new plans! Then Covid hit (the killer of hopes and dreams and so many businesses). I wanted to write this review, because I am hoping you'll still frequent the Lego store and some of the other chains that are holding this mall together. You won't find any independent shops at the moment, or fun and silly kiosks. Even Starbucks is gone. But, there are still a few major chain stores...H&M, Apple, Forever 21, Neiman Marcus, Black and White, Lens Crafters (pretty new space), Arhaus, Aveda, Claire's, California Pizza Kitchen, and Tony and Bruno's (the owners are so nice), Louis Vuitton, and a few more random shops sprinkled throughout the floors. Don't stop by expecting a bustling mall. Stop by to support those businesses that are keeping the lights on...I really don't want this mall to die. For all you mall walkers, if you need an indoor walking space, you clearly won't bump into anyone. Still the cleanest bathrooms around. And, the umbrella display above the treehouse is really truly cheerful. read more

I mean the store is definitely beautiful because it is an upscaled mall and there's tons of shops under one roof. I'm from the far southwest suburbs and I don't see any of these stores! In fact, today was the first and maybe the only time I may have stepped into this mall and a Lorde & Taylor. I was expecting something a really great mall where there was alot of great activities, fancy shops, great places to eat and all together a great experience. However it was not like that. Firstly, the parking situation was abysmal like cars were not parked in its parking spots, everyone parked like a 15 year driving a car the first time. The outside presence of it none the less was very attention grabbing which made me want to hurry inside. I finally walked into the mall, glazed around for my first 20 steps in aww trying to take the moment in and I was completely bummed. Most of the stores were not too interesting, the mall wasn't all that I was expecting. There really didn't seem to be a food court either. I loved their oversized Macy's definitely was great. The inside of the mall, led lightings, beautiful flooring and decor. That was it, I was here for not even 30 minutes and then I left just because the mall didn't offer much. I wouldn't mind coming back, just needs more fun engaging things to keep people here and teach these people how to park read more

Had a first time experience, walked through taking photos just for my own memory bank for later and I was on the 2nd floor getting a wide angle view of the Christmas set up below and I had a guard yell up at me to stop taking pics. I thought it was because there were kids doing the Santa photo thing in the shot so I went down to clarify. Apparently you need the malls permission to take shots of the mall in general. Anyone else have this issue here or elsewhere? read more

It is very nice. Never been here before. Nonetheless a great spot to walk around and escape the world a bit. There are many interesting stores and simply nice rest areas. I always gain ideas for business when I walk anywhere new. Nothing different here. I'll share it via photo. All in all I visited the AMC theatre here. It is nice. read more

This place was big and spacious. They have a big parking lot but when I went to this place its full and have no vacant. When you enter you will see a lot of Christmas decoration. You will see a tall and big Christmas tree that have a Christmas light on it. The next to it is the box of gift. I don't know it is empty or not. Lot of people take picture to it or take picture with it. I just bought kitchen utensils and some groceries to stock here. And I think the utensils are durable. Hope so. Then finished eating at the food court and food was good. read more

We needed to kill some time before going to our next destination so I Yelped shopping malls and Northbrook Court was the closest to the hotel. Honestly, I was confused with the name of the mall cause of the word "court" because I thought it was a food court or something but I was wrong. This mall has higher end store like Lord & Taylor, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Coach, etc. There is an AMC theater inside too. The resting area are nice and kept well. The bathrooms are really nice!! It is a shame to see this mall slowly dying away. We stopped into walk with our little one and shop but so many of the stores we loved are now gone from the mall. And many more are planning to close in the future. It is such a nice mall though and still has many good children activities and stores. What's the burbs without a good mall? And Northbrook court does an amazing job of knowing their audience because this is a great place to pass some time with kids (especially on a cold or rainy day). The main attraction for us here is the Lego store. My husband took my daughter there on a weekend in the winter. He came back and mentioned that they knew her by name...and then asked how much time our kids were spending at the mall. A lot! The Lego store is also conveniently located right outside of a large indoor tree house perfect for kids to release some energy. My scaredy cat 2 year old doesn't seem to be a fan, but based on the gleeful screams I've heard many kids are fans. My kids also take classes at gymboree. I love having it here inside of Northbrook Court because parking is easy and you can make it into a several hour activity by hitting up the lego store and/or tree house before and after class. If you're headed here to shop (rather than entertain your children) some of my favorite spots are Janie and Jack, Hanna Anderson & J Crew (one of the few J Crews I've ben in that carries children clothes and Stride Rite. And on the rare occasion that I"m shopping for myself I can always manage to spend some $ at Cusp and Lululemon. The department stores here are Neimans, Lord & Taylor and Macy's. Neimans is the best of the 3, but pales in comparison to other ones. They've got a bunch of food options, but I always seem to end up at Claim Company since their salad bar rocks. read more

Average older two level mall with three anchor stores Lord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, and Macy's. The rest of the stores are what are typically found in most shopping malls. Small food court on upper level near Macy's. Snacks and drinks(ie Starbucks, Auntie Annes) near AMC and kids play area. Spacious common areas for walking and nice sitting areas. Beautiful, clean restrooms. Like was mentioned above, just an average mall. Didn't take long to see everything on both levels. read more

What happened to this mall? I have been going here ever since the Macys was still here. This place used to have a lot of stores and people. The restaurants inside the mall are limited and there is only like a few to choose from. AMC is nice but that is pretty much it. read more

My friend and I went here to buy some Christmas presents for our loved ones. We went straight to the one of the stores where they sell clothes for men and women. We bought a lot and we got a discount because of a lot of clothes we bought. Next we went to the kids store where you can choose anything you want for your kids. They also had a lot of toys and barbies. We also bought a lot. Some staff help us to assist our things in our car. After a long shopping trip we went to the food court to eat some food because we were so hungry. We bought chicken with fried rice, burgers, milk tea, and chocolate cake. That was all good. We got an amazing gift for our loved one and we got amazing food. Highly recommend this mall. read more

Stores: 4 Parking: 4 People: 4 The mall has all of the stores that I would go to a mall for personally (Gap, Banana Republic, Apple, etc.) and very few of the stores that sell crap (trinkets, calendars, etc.). Parking is plentiful though there are some rough drivers so look out. The mall is clean and typically not crowded. For us, this is much more preferred to Woodfield or other local malls. read more

I bought my gift to my sister here in this mall. I bought doll house, a set of Barbie and kitchen toys. She loves it so much when I gave it to her at her party. She like the color of a doll house. It's color pink with some design on it. Doll house have a free mini Barbie. Then she also loves the set of Barbie. It's a 3 piece of Barbie with a set of different clothes on it. At the party she excitedly open the kitchen toys that wrap in the gift and use it with her friends. They will like it so much. They use some clay for the food. One of the kids at the party got cried because he like the kitchen toys. So I recommend this mall to his mom. And she said that he will come here. read more

I'm actually a huge fan of Northbrook Court, as I've been going to this indoor mall for years! Rain or shine, winter or summer, I just prefer an indoor mall so you don't have to worry about any inclement weather. In addition, this mall is always kept super clean and well-maintained. The Court offers the usual fashion, health and beauty, home and housewares, shoes, sports and fitness, and specialty stores. I actually love that they have a Neiman Marcus here, which has a pretty okay collection of handbags and a great place to check some of the current season's offerings. The mall also has a Burberry, Louis Vuitton, and a CUSP. Plenty of parking, but I usually park by the second level of NM. +super clean and well-maintained mall! +NM, Burberry, LV, and Cusp available +plenty of parking read more
