I can not express this more clearly RUN!!! What a poor excuse for a company. The internet they provide reminds me of dial up days. The customer services is based over seas somewhere by people that could care less about actually helping you. That is of course if you can get any of them on the phone or chat online! We spent multiple hours explaining that the internet was not working and in their infinite wisdom think it's okay to tell us it'll be two and a half weeks to get someone out to look it over. After explaining to them that would not work we cancelled our service. They had just billed us two days ago and we said that since it hadn't been working for those days we would expect a refund. Nope. Not going to happen we were told. So we have no service now, they won't send someone out for almost three weeks and they think it is justifiable to bill someone for the entire month OF NO SERVICE!!! Forgot to mention that since we signed up for direct bill pay (our mistake) they raised our rates without notification. After telling them this they told us that they would take money off our account per month to make it right. Nope...we were billed the same amount...the amount they are unwilling to refund for zero service. I think this might be run by a daycare of some kind. Horrible, horrible, horrible company. Workers are courteous, but they never solve the problem. Our internet drops 4-8 times a day, and has done so for the last years. CenturyLink blames our modem (which is new and better than their cheap crap), but is their antiquated equipment with limited bandwidth as more homes are added in our area that is the true culprit. read more

We have had the WORST luck with CenturyLink. We had an appointment for someone to come and set up cable and internet, no one showed up with no communication after staying home from work it. Called and made another appointment and they told us someone will be here at 8am. Stayed home from work again. No one was here at 8am so I called and she said between 8-12. Still no one. Called back and she said by 6pm. Still, no one is here with no communication. Two days home from work and we have been without internet now for a month. We are SO disappointed with CenturyLink and would definitely take our business elsewhere if anyone else serviced our area. Do not use them if you have a choice!!! read more

Centurylink provides the worst customer support from any company I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I should have known from the get-go with the hassle of a process to even sign up for service. I had their highest speed Internet in our area but it was not fast enough to stream. Thinking I could cancel within 30 days with their 30 day guarantee, I proceeded. After cancelling I got stuck with a $233 bill that is from services and fees that I was told by a rep would be covered under the guarantee. They were not. Do not fall for that trap as I did. Run! Honestly the slowest internet I've had since the days of hanging up the phone so you could log onto the internet! Strangely though, not the lowest price, not even close. I haven't even been hooked up to the service yet and I've been moved back, and lied to no less than 6 times I can be sure of and spent over 4 hours on the phone so far... AGAIN, I'M STILL NOT ONLINE, they have fees for everything, I got a convenience fee for hooking up the modem myself... REALLY!?!? I got a confirmation email telling me my equipment would arrive 4 days in the past, and have waited through 3 separate 4 hour windows for a tech to come "turn me on", well needless to say, I'm less than turned on by this ISP. This is by far the worst company that I have ever dealt with. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get your services started. I have been on the phone with century everyday this week (Monday, May 7th-Saturday, May 12th) and I have spent no less then 3 hours on the phone each time I have spoke to the company. I signed up for internet services on April 30th and they were suppose to start on May 7th. It is not May 12th and I still do not have services. I enrolled into services for internet on April 30, 2018 with CenturyLink. They ask if you want to self install or pay $60 to have a technician install your services. I selected self install. My services were scheduled to start on May 7, 2018. When I enrolled I just received a confirmation email stating that my services were to start on May 7th, nothing else was stated in the email. I then called on May 7th to see how my services were going to start seeing as how I had not received a modem nor was I directed to pick up a modem. I was informed that it was scheduled to be delivered by 5pm. It never showed. After making multiple phone calls between CenturyLink and UPS on Tuesday, May 8th, we discovered that my modem was sent back to CenturyLink, so they overnighted a modem to me and insured that all I had to do was plug my modem in once I received it. Wednesday, May 9th, comes and I receive my modem, but now I don't have services. I called CenturyLink at 4:30 central time. After being on hold for 30-45 minutes I am informed that I have to have a technician come to my house to turn on my services. I have never been informed about needing a technician coming to my home. I am told that my services will be turned on by 5PM Thursday, May 10th, and that there is nothing else they can do. I ask for them to have me listed as priority and getting my services turned on first thing in the morning seeing how I am now going on 4 days past when I am suppose to have services already. They inform me that they can not do that. I spent a total of 3.5 hours on the phone with CenturyLink on Wednesday. 2 of my phone calls were dropped and they never called me back even though they take down your phone number in case this happens. Also, everytime I called back I could never speak to the same person I was speaking to in my previous conversation and I would just be transferred around for the first 30-60 minutes trying to find the right person that could help me. So I call Thursday, May 10th, at 8:00AM to see about getting a technician first thing. I am then told that I do not need a technician to come to my home and that they can remote start my services and that I will have internet by 5PM. I ask for them to please have it started as early as possible so that if I don't have services I don't have to wait until the next business day because 5 is when customer service closes. I am told this is not possible. That afternoon I call corporate to report my issues I have been having. The first lady at corporate asked me what I wanted her to do about the issues? I told her that I would like for the services that I have already paid for to start and that I would like to be told what is going on. The lady informed me that there was nothing she could do about what I have been told or the employees because they are in a different state. I asked isn't that what the corporate office was for? And she told me no it wasn't. She then told me that a technician had been to my place on Monday, May 7th, but an issue was found and that was the prolong in service, but that they are working on it. After spending 5.5 hours on the phone Thursday, I was told that I am now not getting services until May 21st. I called Friday, May 11th, and was told that they would fix this and a technician is coming to turn on my services at 11 AM. 11AM passes and we still do not have services. I call CenturyLink and they informed me that they can't do anything until the technician closes my file and then I will be sent a new service date. Conveniently, the time the technician is going to close my file is around 5PM so I won't be able contact customer service again until Monday. I have been told multiple things by this company and nothing seems accurate. I have also had my calls dropped and called immediately back to speak with the same person and am told that they can not transfer me to them because they are in a different department. I am being told that I will now have services on May 21st. The customer service for this company is a JOKE! No one can tell you anything and no one can reach anyone. When I asked if they could call the technician that has my ticket to see what was going on I was informed that they are unable to do this. So you literally have to just wait until the next business day and then start the wild goose chase all over again. I think this company should be shut down! I am not the only person that has been through this mess. If I could have internet service through another provide I would, but unfortunately that is not an option. read more

We called to set up Internet when we first moved in to our house in Gardner. The call took almost 2 hours. The lady said it'd take 3-5 days for the equipment to come in the mail. There was An installation fee of over $100 when we would be hooking it up and setting it up ourselves... Not to mention they sell the sets at Walmart but we couldn't use those and get the bundle deal at the same time. It took over two weeks for the equipment to come all the while our data on our phones were way over maxed out. We had called after a week and she said it'd be another 5-7 days. We got the equipment and in the instructions it said it was supposed to come with an activation latter. That was not there. So when we tried to activate it we had to call customer service again which took another hour of pointless conversation. The whole ordeal was stressful, time consuming, and super expensive for the effort that we had to put in to set it all up. read more
