So we asked for Centurylink internet service to a home we just bought from a man whose wife had passed away here. The seller had stated that he had turned off service a long time ago and there was no current service. The modem he had left did not show any connection. Upon calling the company, they said there was no service account here and we started the new account process. They gave me a connection date and I started receiving texts using my name and number to authorize T&C's etc. I was texted that it was being installed on the day we were told, the company sent me a new modem, and the modem started working! Slow as @&)(; but due to our location we had been warned that beforehand, ok whatever. 3 weeks later the service goes off and my profile suddenly says essentially "installation on hold." What? Multiple calls to numbers requiring excessive phone message trees revealed them having no record of the account being started back a month ago in my name or the original install date texted to me. The order # was the same one so it's not like they thought it was two different orders. They were telling me it could be months before they could install it. We had to spend a lot of time escalating to get it in gear to get turned on again sooner than later. I had returned the new leased modem originally when the old modem I owned and the new modem they sent had no difference in service, before I realized there was an issue with the install. I can only shudder when I anticipate having to argue why I am getting the lease bill as they have no record of receiving the modem back. read more

Do not use for internet service. Because you will not have it more than you do. I blame myself because I didn't jump this ship along time ago. I am however now close personal friends with people from India. They know me so well after years of conversations that I'm welcome to visit anytime. The is the poorest excuse ( should be their middle name) for a business that I have ever seen. Don't do it!!! Even their own technician told us to give up and which provider to use. This is the worse internet company I've ever had the displeasure of having service with. Entire staff has been outsourced overseas, support can barely speak English. I have been without Internet service for over 2 weeks, they have scheduled someone to come to my house three times now, and they never show up, I don't believe they have actual technicians any longer, but they won't admit that. I had to stay home from work those days, and they won't provide me a credit until they can fix it, but they never show up to fix up! Unbelievable, they shouldn't be allowed to do business. I would switch, but I don't think there is another Internet service provider in the area. Anyone know if there is another reliable provider in Punta Gorda, FL? read more

Work at a business and everytime I have a problem -- no internet or no phone service -- it takes at least a week to get it fixed. Never speak with someone that speaks fluid English and most times I'm lucky to get it fixed in a week's time. read more

FIND ANOTHER INTERNET PROVIDER!!!! I have had Century Link for years. Over the last couple of years, the customer service has become so bad that NO ONE should have to be exposed to it. I'm warning you now before you have to find out the hard way. My Internet was down on August 6, 2024. I waited a couple days to see if it would come back on and checking the app for outages. I finally attempted to reach customer service which is almost impossible if you need to speak to a person. After many frustrating phone calls, I finally canceled my Century Link Internet on August 15, 2024. The app did not allow me to cancel it online, so I had to make YET ANOTHER phone call to cancel my service. During the phone call I asked what my final bill would be, and the customer service rep said that I would get a credit for the days that I didn't have service. I was told to WAIT FOR THE FINAL BILL IN THE MAIL and to call back then for the amount that I owed. Today I received an email stating my bill was ready and there was a charge of $18 on there for LATE FEE. YES, AFTER BEING TOLD TO WAIT FOR THE BILL!!!! I've been on the phone with Century Link for three and a half hours today over the course of three phone calls. On one of the almost 2 HOUR calls I kept being transferred. They are refusing to refund the $18. They keep telling me they CAN'T do it. When I ask for a supervisor, I got placed on hold for a very long time and then transferred to the wrong person. This has happened four times today. One woman said I've already talked to you today. This is not the first time I've had an issue with customer service at Century Link. Every time I have an issue, I can count on wasting a good part of my day trying to resolve it. It's absolutely insane that a company can treat you like this and think it's okay. I was told not to pay the bill until I got one in the mail. To date I still have not received it but they're insisting I owe them $18 for a late fee. Century Link prices were competitive at one time. That is not even true anymore and there's no reasonable customer service. I hope I can save people a lot of headaches by steering them away from Century Link. LOOK at the other reviews you will see that this is their MO. They're all 1 Star reviews. Don't let them suck you in. And No....... my issue is still NOT resolved. read more

I lose my wifi at least 3 times a month... even then, it's always unstable when it isn't down. You can never reach a real person... they apparently lie or don't know what they are doing.....If I had any other choice, the Century Link for me would be history.....how, can any provider be so sorry!? We have been dealing with slow/spotty/no wifi in the house for months. We have had centurylink for several years, and lately it has gone to crap. Had a "service tech" come out today to "fix the problem". We were dealing with slow this time. Now, after the "Service Tech" left, We have No internet. Through hotspot, I logged into my account and realized it was still trying to coonect to the old modem. He literally did nothing more than plug in a modem and leave. Never checked to see if any devices would connect. I plugged in the original modem and now we are back to just slow. We have business internet too, this is rediculous. We will be going to another service. This is a joke. I'll deal with satellite access before I keep dealing with these bafoons. read more

Well, I can only hope there is enough space for all the bad things there are to say about this company. If you can, avoid them at all costs. You'll save yourself in mental anguish and frustration. Customer service is NOT in the UNITED STATES.....need I say more. Their service is unreliable and is constantly going down and there is never any compensation for the outages. Then, when you have to contact customer service the real "fun" begins because then you get to speak with someone whose first language is not English. CenturyLink has lied about when service would be available in addition to poor service. It's one thing to wait 4 days knowing but to be blatantly lied to telling people it will be on that day, is unacceptable. If I could leave negative stars I would. This is by far the most corrupt internet service company in the country. We started a service with this trash in 2020. They sent a service rep our supposedly (they never showed up) and claimed the people in the house had covid (but no one ever came to our door. This happened twice. So we called and canceled returned the modem and now they sent us to collection for 200+ dollars. I hope this entire company goes bankrupt. Stay away. Centurylink is the dinosaur of our area. Response time using their internet and especially their own email is worse than snails pace. We are being provided with 3mps speed for the internet @ 2.4 ghz speed!!! We were supposed to be getting 10mps @ 2.4 ghz AND 5.0 ghz!! I don't see repair truck any more other than the guys (another company) working on new (Optical?) cabling. We were also told that id we paid for the 100 mhz option, we cna pay that by still get 3 mhz. So we can pay for something we won't be getting. It is kind of like what we are doing now. Other providers want you to roll over, stand or sit up on command, but will give you 100 mhz. What a stinking state. ()HW) read more
