We hired Maddox to correct a few items that appeared on the inspection report for our newly-purchased home in the Las Cruces area. We also hired other contractors, for whom I will be leaving much more positive reviews. Maddox, unfortunately, only managed to successfully complete (net) one among a handful of repairs, while charging us roughly the same amount of money that they estimated for all of them. My wife ended up working pretty hard to get the plumber out of our house, as at one point he had broken far more than he had fixed, and it was unclear that we would have running water at all when he left. When he did leave, he had fixed two small leaks and introduced a third, immediately adjacent to one he'd repaired. I get that it may be hard to hire competent people in today's labor market, but the plumber Maddox sent seemingly spent as much time making arguments for work that would perhaps bring our home into greater alignment with his wheelhouse, as he did implementing the needed repairs. We were offered, for example, an opportunity to have a very common plumbing product replaced with a bespoke hand-assembled substitute because a direct replacement would supposedly be hard to find. I wasn't on site but had my wife take a picture. I found a direct replacement online, available next day, in minutes. Had that been the only problem I might not be writing this review, but it went on from there. As it stands, we won't be calling Maddox back. That seems sad, as we've since met other far more competent contractors who do hold the company in high regard. If you do call them, I suggest you go over the work needed very explicitly and if you hear any words suggesting that they don't know what outcome they'll get, or that a thing you have should be replaced with something different because what you have is in some way inferior, don't let them take anything apart!

A rough estimated repair week will provided and then they just show up and perform the work unannounced and then leave the job site. A bill will then be emailed and texted to you. The work was not verified to have fixed the problem so I had to call them back to fix the leak. They came back and fixed it, so I then paid the bill through "Intuit", the service that they use for payment. I received a paid in full confirmation so I thought everything to be good. One week later I get a call from them saying that the payment did not go through and that I now owe a $45 cancellation fee. I tried disputing this with supervision, but the $45 was more important to receive than a happy repeat customer. Some things just totally defy logic. Why would you charge your customer for a payment processing error and then verbally state that is more important then gaining more business and a future date.

I had them working on cleaning a waterfall and pond at one of our properties we were putting up for sale and they left a mess of it all and didn't even fix the issue. I called Linda back to have her rectify the situation and she charged me again for the work they did not complete the time before. I disputed the charges and told her I was not satisfied with the service her "workers" provided as they had not corrected the issues, left truck oil stains and cigarette butts in my driveway, had forced open the garage door (still left open when we returned home) to look for a broom, left wet rags, did not wash off nasty pond water they left on the patio and dumped the small rocks they cleaned out of the pond into our yard. After all of that, the pond still leaked! A couple of weeks later, I was sent a "payment due" notice by some "artificial" attorney who would not return my calls after the first one; they said they would not hear my dispute and that I should call the Pond-S-Scapes office. After sending a fair payment for the work done and my WRITTEN dispute to both Pond-S-Scapes and the "artificial" attorney out of AZ, I heard NOTHING and thought the matter was rectified. To my disbelief, when we went to closing for the sale of that home seven months later, we were notified Pond-S-Scapes LLC/Linda Wilson had filed A LIEN against the property without notifying us. This was not only underhanded, but unethical as there was no formal dispute process initiated. I see in the Dona Ana County public records that we were not the first ones to whom she applied this tactic. Unfortunately, it appears to be her method of operation if she does not agree with you. If I didn't have empathy for the continued financial woes this woman has (see public records) and the forced payment amount was any larger, I would have taken her to small claims court with my date stamped pictures of the property/pond area and the bills from the other business that remedied the mess her "workers" left. I will never hire this company again and will have nothing good to say about them if anyone asks. It's unfortunate that she could not negotiate a reasonable settlement and build a decent reputation for her business.

We went to Stone Masters looking for a new countertop for our bathroom. After talking with Eve, we…read moredecided on a white quartz for the top and backsplash. As we had purchased bowls to go on the countertop, we asked about having the holes cut by the installers for the drains and faucets which she indicated could be done. We opted to have their staff remove and dispose of the old countertop which had built in sinks. They removed the old top with only one very small spot to touch up as the new backsplash was going to be 2" taller than the existing one. They then created a template for the top and took it back so the new top could be cut to fit. When the top was ready, they called and arranged a date and time to do the install and cut the holes for the drains and faucets. The top fit snugly into place. We showed them where we wanted the bowls and faucets. They marked the spots and cut the holes. During the cutting they had a shop vac that caught almost all of the dust from the cuts. The back splash was cut outside and brought inside to be glued in place. The end product looks great. We arranged the connection of the bowls/faucets separately. A professional job from start to finish by Stone Masters.

My fan motor gave out after the AIRCON technician left because it mysteriously became cross wired; burned up hotter than a stove then ruined it. AIRCON claims NO FAULT and still wants the $150 for the visit. I had a 2nd technician review the $150 assessment AIRCON provided and told me he fixes a lot of their bad assessments. The 2nd technician replaced only the parts he knew were bad and now it's NEW again for 25% (estimate was free) of the quoted crazy repair price from AIRCON. I spent almost a week explaining this to AIRCON, but they aren't hearing it, they want the $150 for the worthless visit that could have ruined my AC unit (glowing from overheat). AIRCON will get their $150, I hope they spend it wisely. NEVER AGAIN, NOT RECOMMENDED.
