Best iced coffee I've ever had. They recommended a really good chocolate bar after I said I am a chocolate snob.

Visited with my mom for afternoon coffee, and we enjoyed our visit. I ordered a pour over specialty roast and my mom ordered a chai latte, and both were great! I would recommend the pourovers for those who really enjoy coffee. They don't have much of a pastry or food selection also, so I would visit if you are only looking for coffee. The shop was fairly small, but seemed to be a good place to meet up for coffee or to go on your own and get some work done. read more

This used to be a 5-star coffee shop. I used to go all the time. They recently underwent a makeover including a name change. I'm not sure if they are under new management or just a redo. Same staff. I'm a tea drinker. If you want a single cup of tea, you now have to pay $5. You read that correctly: $5. They removed the option of getting a basic cup of good tea, and instead you have to buy a bigger brew of it (enough for a few cups). I'm sad to say I won't be returning. It's weird to see them cut out an easy type of customer to satisfy. If you're a coffee person, you should still check this place out. They appear to have at least kept a normal coffee option for $2 as well as the higher-end options. Although, maybe that will go away too... read more

pay no attention to the website, it does not do the place justice. If you are a barista, trained professional or just know the difference between good and bad, this is the spot to hit. I ordered a double espresso, pretty simple request. I was handed a cup which contained maybe a single shot. When I questioned it the woman told me "oh, that's actually the equivalent of a triple shot worth of grounds with a single shot pressed through it, don't worry the caffeine is in there". Coffee is great. Croissants sandwiches were amazing. My husband got the goat cheese and fig. Two of my favorite things. I had cheese and apple with mustard, Muenster, Brie, apple and honey. The Brie was dripping as you bit into the sandwich. When you eat these sandwiches don't worry about calories, just eat it. So good. The sandwiches did take a little long to make and it did take a min to get me Carmello coffee but it was well worth it. The sandwiches and coffee were made fresh. Not prepackaged like The Bucks. So if you have time stop in and get a cup and a sandwich well worth the wait. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it took a min but it was still fantastic. read more

I was in the Annapolis for a week for a conference. And you know, sometimes those things can be pretty boring. So that meant I needed a place other than my usual spots to go for my coffee. Who wants starbucks when you can try local spots. I yelped and this is the place I found. I went 3 days of the 5. It was awesome. I had two iced vanilla lattes and one hot. Also the Toast was pretty good too. I had the bacon jam and avocado with the poached egg. It was colorful and the person preparing it took his time with making it. I enjoyed watching him. The toast with the butter and preserves, I would say was my favorite. Coming in at 5 dollars, it was amazing. I would go back, I hope they expand their food collection as it was really tasty. read more

I was in the area on business and wanted to have a good cup of coffee and found this on yelp. I have been to the Dock coffee shop before but was staying closer to this and had meetings near BWI. I was quite surprised at the process. After the clerk consulted with me on the types of coffee I picked one (I can't remember which one). She proceeded to weigh the beans, grind them and then put them in a wetted cone filter in a ceramic holder on the counter. She placed my cup under it and gradually poured hot water over the ground coffee to drip into the cup. I have never seen a shop do this. The coffee was excellent and I will be back on my next trips to the area. Plus the price was the same or better than a Starbucks. The only negatives were that it is hard to find (it is in the Giant Food shopping center) and the wait for the coffee, while worth it, could be tough if time was short. read more

Several years ago, I came here because it was within walking distance of the hotel I was staying at. I don't remember if I got a drink or not, but I do remember ordering a Cuban sandwich on their recommendation. I thought it was just okay. It wasn't bad, but there are enough Cuban food choices around where I grew up that even though I eat it rarely, it was hard for a sandwich, of all things, to really cut it for me. Also, as it was my first trip ever to Annapolis, and I came during a rather cold spring, I was miserable (I'm used to Southern California weather, thanks) and cranky that the sandwich wasn't warm enough for my liking. It didn't help that the store itself was kept pretty cold, and therefore didn't feel too welcoming. Now that I've come a month and a half later in the year during a warmer spring, things are looking better. I'm still wearing 2 sweaters, a scarf, and knee boots while everyone else is wearing shorts, skirts, and flip flops (yes, I totally belong here...), but I'm in a mood to be more charitable. First, I don't know why I didn't remember the birch tree decor. It seems unique enough to have made an impression, given that I remember other things about my last visit. I like it. Secondly, the store is still kept pretty cold; there is a definite draft. I suppose it's not an issue for most locals at this time of year, but I think management should consider changing that in the colder months. I'm pointing this out because this is the kind of place I like to come to do work, but I'd for sure have to bring extra layers, which is a nuisance. The wooden chairs aren't the most comfortable, but I like the bench because I don't sit like a proper lady and it gives me space to spread out. I also like the large table if it's not crowded and I don't have to share with anyone. My golden peach ice tea came with more ice than I like, but the tea itself was a bit too sweet. I wasn't expecting that since they sell several teas in the store, which I assume are unsweetened. I suppose that if I'd given the ice time to melt, it would have evened out. The fig (jam) and goat cheese croissant with balsamic was a blend of sweet and savory, and so good. The only problem was that the croissant was slightly burnt because they put it in a panini press; although I prefer a warm sandwich, I'm not big on charred carbs. Still, I was consciously trying not to inhale my sandwich, but it was gone by the time I walked back to my car. D: Luckily, my fiancé wasn't with me because I licked the paper, too. -_____-;; I made him come back with me after work on the same day, on the pretense that I wanted to take him to the first café I ever went to on the east coast. :D In addition to another fig and goat cheese croissant, we also got a turkey and muenster croissant, chai latte, and mango smoothie. The fig and goat cheese croissant was good enough that my fiancé ordered a second, but I think they forgot the mango mayo in the turkey and muenster croissant, because I didn't taste any. Super sad, as that was the main reason I ordered it. It was still good, but it was also pretty much the same sandwich I ate every day at work for weeks on end (minus the croissant). I was excited to try the chai latte because another review said that this was the best they've had outside of India, and that's pretty much been my standard, too. In fact, I very rarely do chai now unless I'm actually in an Indian store frequented by Indian people, because they have all been so disappointing and sad. This one was good, but ultimately still a latte (I prefer the regular milky tea), and a bit too sweet. The mango smoothie was satisfying after a day of not drinking much of anything. There's no milk in it, which is a plus for me. -1 star for the price and other gripes I've commented on. read more

Not from the area, and decided to give this cafe a try because of the other high ratings here on yelp. Very happy we did! The barista (who also rung us up) was very kind and made exceptional drinks. My husband got the Chai latte and claimed it to be the best he's ever had. I had a soy mocha and was also very please. They were about to close when we visited yesterday evening so there weren't many dessert/pastry options available. They use ceremony coffee and am always pleased with that choice when used at cafes. read more

....agreed with the analogy to wine on another review ...good beans here...and though there is nothing really pronto when you compare this to assembly line quasi bistros like SB....I contentedly peruse the sights and sip free ice water knowing that the latte i have coming will be something magical...unreal actually! The smoothness is so savory and topped with a heart in my foam...its LOVE. So breath deep and be patient...its ohh sooo worth it! They loose a star because of their great success: if you want to sit down and enjoy your drink and food there are few places to sit, and a lot of seats are taken up by wifi-squatters using the tables as their office. I stop by for my morning coffee here most mornings.The coffee isnt bad at all,a touch pricey but not bad.The hipster man bun feeling is really hard to shake though.My first time there it felt like I had violated some weird unspoken law of no camos .My mocha tasted foul.It had the taste of cheesy nasty milk,the gf afreed.So I decided to give them another try after the fire at cheeseburger place.still hipstery but the staff seemed a little more pleasant but the pleasantness is wearing off.All in all not a bad place but not spectacular. read more

This was a one time stop in and out of curiosity I tried the Panama super special Geisha variety of brewed coffee. I was told it was procured via a special auction and cost nearly 50 dollars a pound. The 16 oz cup was 9 dollars and in my estimation I made a donation to a seemingly small local business. The coffee flavor was not bad just brewed weak. The two redeeming qualities of this place are the atmosphere and how nice the people are which is why after trying for 5 minutes to like this horrible cup of joe I walk out and threw it in the nearest trash can out of site. If this place had been some big corporate coffee place I would have demanded my money back and made them brew me a new cup but then again if this had been a Starbucks the coffee would have been at least acceptable. Update: I appreciate the management offering to provide me a cup on the house but, the likelihood I will be back in Annapolis anytime soon is less than zero. After reading Rogers F.'s review of also getting "weak" coffee here I doubt I would go back. I unfortunately am the type of person that you get one shot with. That said if you are more forgiving than I am and want to give this place a try and say go for it just don't go all in on a 9 dollar cup of coffee. read more

Packed on a weekday at 930, the birch branches disguise the strip mall feel and the vibe is lively and nice. The salmon toast was delicious though spendy at $10 (remember that toast is basically an open faced 1/2 sandwich). My husband's macchiato looked picture perfect and tasted nice. Iced Americano was perfect in a nice glass. Overall very nice except for the prices. read more

Great place for a coffee and a little bite to eat (great cheese danish) definitely a step above Starbucks and whenever I'm out and about I'll stop in for a nice latte. I like how they display what coffee is being used for the day so if you enjoy it you can grab yourself a bag. Nice selection of brewing accessories (pour over coffee, French press... Ect.) only con I see is the seating can be a little tough as you have your blogger and business individuals tapping away on their laptops (why not go to Starbucks if you want to have everyone watch you work?) all in all this place is great in my eyes. read more
