Cooked golden brown; the batter was missing seasoning. The coleslaw was way too sweet. I added cheese and it wasn't even melted. This place has been on my radar for a few months, and today was the day I found myself down in Annapolis with some time to kill. I'll get my constructive criticism out of the way first and say that for a 15.00 combo they don't really give you many fries with the order. Outside of that everything was really smooth, we used the kiosk to place our order, and it took maybe 10 minutes to come out. There wasn't a lot of interaction with the staff, but if you approached them they were nice, and would help you out. The location is deceptively big, but it's clean and that's all I ask. I got a mild chicken sandwich and let me tell you it was fire. The slaw, the mild sauce, the pickles and bun all complimented the chicken perfectly. The breading on the chicken wasn't to thick, and every single bite was juicy and delicious... My kids got the chicken bites and loaded fries, but they're boring, so they didn't get any sauces. However the chicken bites were just as juicy as the sandwich and I could easily see myself ordering the fries on another trip. I was surprised just how much the kids liked the food though. I was really coming here for me, and I had even told the kids they may not like it, but they're already asking when we can come back. I love spicy food and spicy fried chicken...is there anything better? I think not! The Chicken Sando is exactly what I want when I order something, unapologetically spicy, good crisp on the breading (and from the Cole slaw) and a sauce that cuts the heat just enough. They are always very good. The place is small and I can't say I've ever seen someone eat inside, but there are tables. It's a strange setup, when you fill your soda you almost feel like you're going in the kitchen. Which I will add they block off, so you can't see in through the pass. I think this might be a nod to the true Hot Chicken joints in Nashville that guard their recipes so closely. This isn't one of those and I'm not going to compare but they do a good job. The staff is low key and polite but nothing over the top. My only complaint is that they would cook the fries to order just as they do the chicken. Hear me out! This is the juiciest, crispiest, most flavorful chicken I've had in ages! I got a 6pc mild wing and my boyfriend got a mega chicken sandwich combo. It's a great sandwich, the fries are overpriced for the portion and the hotness is oversold... ...the chicken is a bit spicy on its own, but I got the "HOT", had to accept a responsibility for a sandwich I couldn't return, and was underwhelmed. It was less spicy than your average Buffalo wing. If you like it hot don't be scared... just get the angry hot flavor. All that said? As a chicken sandwich aficionado, I oftentimes find myself in a scenario where my options are Chick-Fil-A or some other chain and it just won't scratch the itch. Today, while desiring some Nashville hot style chicken, I gave this spot a try and I'm glad I did. First, the chicken is seasoned so perfectly. It's legit Nashville style chicken so word to the wise: if you're sensitive to heat, don't go above medium. I know my limits after trying Howling Ray's and Dave's in L.A. so I got the mild and even that made me do a double take. The chicken was super crispy and the filet I got was easily big enough for two people -- they definitely don't skimp on portions. The house sauce it comes with is a slightly sweeter version of Cane's sauce which pairs well with the heat and the acidity of the slaw that comes with the sandwich. I got the seasoned waffle fries and these put Chick-fil-A to shame -- huge crunch and whatever dust they put on is very flavorful; great umami! The only reason this isn't a 5 out of the gate is because my chicken, while moist, still leaned a little towards the dry side. If the chicken was a little juicier, this would have easily been a 5/5 review, but it's not a dealbreaker -- this place is definitely on my radar going forward. Everything we ordered was very good, so good we are going back again today! My favorites are the taro and Oreo boba drinks. Love the boba at the bottom. My daughter likes the strawberry with lychee, it was a bit perfumy for me but she devoured it. For food: Jr Sando the chicken is cooked just right not overpowering in grease. Having done hot chicken in Tennessee, I also had high expectations for this place as one reviewer mentioned. When you walk in, you go and order and pay at these two kiosks, then they get the ticket slip right next to kiosk and there are two people that will work on it you can eat there which is what we did but it's not the greatest to eat there. This chicken spot is a little random - but very good. The serving size on their sandwiches is HUGE. You get a big piece of chicken that can't even fit on the sandwich bun. The slaw that dresses the sandwich is tangy and crunchy, which adds a nice depth to an otherwise standard chicken sandwich. The pickles are also a little sweet and a little sour, and the spicy sauce adds a little more spice but also a slightly creamy relief from the sour flavors of the slaw and pickle. The fries were not your ordinary - they taste lightly seasoned and are crispy to perfection. I haven't been able to finish an entire lunch from here yet.
