I was so happy to get an iced latte from Ceremony again for the first time in months. I asked for my latte to be sweetened with vanilla syrup. It wasn't as sweet as I wanted to be, but it was still a good latte. I liked how there was plexi glass separating me from the whole cashier and coffee bar. The decor was cute though small.. There is one communal table which seemed to be the waiting place for people as they were stalking the single tables.. My drink and breakfast sandwich were perfect! I've had Ceremony Coffee at local establishments but never directly from a Ceremony coffee shop! So this was super exciting for me. Both their drinks and food menus look amazing. It took us awhile just to decide on coffee drinks. We ended up trying the "Lady Baltimore" and a standard soy milk iced latte. Both drinks were soooooo good. The "Lady Baltimore" though.... TO DIE FOR. It's Espresso, almond milk, sour cherry, lemon zest and vanilla bean meringue. Again, TDF. Prices are so reasonable for the wonderful quality. Service was alright. Being in this area and finding a good and consistent coffeehouse is tough. Ceremony Coffee Roasters at Festival at Riva is tucked within the large complex and is a delight to have in the area. While their food menu is static, the melts that they serve are well-made (and they take time to make). The coffee is the real reason I come here as their cappuccinos and lattes are rich and made with high quality espresso. If you order coffee drinks for inhouse, seltzer water is routinely served. The cortado is by far my favorite drink here. I used to come here mainly to study, and there is a row of seats with tables where it may get busy at certain times of the day (lunch/right after work). When I find my perch, I find this location to have a good ambiance for focused studying. The wifi is good and fast. I recommend this location for social occasions and for people who need a place to sit and read/study. read more

That foam was thick enough to draw a beautiful design, which always warms my heart. And the flavor did not disappoint! Creamy, smooth, and rich-- just as it should be. For lunch, I had the croissant with fig, goats cheese, and balsamic glaze. This croissant was suuuuper flakey.. while I know this means a lot of butter was involved, I really can't complain! The one disappointment was that it was a fig JAM on there, not fresh sliced figs like I was envisioning. Ya gotta call it fig jam if it's a fig jam! But still, really really tasty. I'm their 100th review!!! I came here to study while visiting my BF in Annapolis. This is a cute and quiet place to study. They open really early (6:30am) and the coffee here is great. Wifi is free, many tables with lots of lighting from the sun, as well as lights. There is a big parking lot, the staff is friendly and helpful. I ordered the lady rose which is their spring coffee drink. It comes in a champagne/wine like glass. It is an infusion of rose, steamed almond milk, orange juice, amongst other things. It seemed different than the normal latte I get. It tastes... Interesting. Not a bad interesting. Every sip I take is a hint of rose. You can't tell there is OJ in it so don't freak out. The bathroom here is clean, the seats are clean, it's a good vibes place. Can't wait to come back :) read more

Passing through town a couple of days ago. By sheer luck (or touched by the gods, who knows) I wound up at a hotel across the street from this place. All I can say is wow. Probably one of the best lattes I've ever had. I travel a lot through the US, Canada and Mexico, and am always looking for the good local coffee shops. Kudos to Starbucks for introducing quality coffee to the masses, but man, are they being outdone by the indie places these days. So ... creamy, smooth, rich, delicious coffee, good service, no parking issues (it's in a strip mall), quick service, squeaky clean interior, and a fascinating array of other goodies ... chocolate covered bacon anyone? The place had the feel of something bigger, I was kind of surprised to find out it was local-only. Way to go Annapolis! We need more places like this in the world, especially in my home town, which, sadly, is a few thousand miles away :( read more

Pronto is in the name and not in the service? Just joking-ish. Okay there was only one barista at the time and she did a great job. She made an entire espresso shot to throw out just to clean the machine and give my coffee pure flavor. They roast their own beans and take pride in the flavor so I can appreciate that. Just make sure you aren't in a rush. The coffee was great. Wish it were a little hotter. I'll be sure to request that next time. The seating area didn't seem to have a lot of space but it wasn't much smaller than a Starbucks. I think it's just laid out very simply so the tables are close and side by side. This is the second time I've been to this Caffe Pronto and I can safely say this is a great LOCAL alternative to Starbucks Aside from great coffee they have great sandwiches. The atmosphere is relaxed and kinda funky. Is this place amazing and unique? No, but their coffee is good and their food is better than most coffee shops. I have been looking for specialty local coffee for years. Starbuck is just too mass-marketed. It is like a social status to sit and drink coffee there. Finally I found this local coffee house. The way they poured the milk frost on my cappuccino is pure art. The milk frost is thick and creamy. When I dunk the almond biscotti, the creamy frost hug cozily on it. I needed a boost after working at a house where I'll be hosting an open house this weekend, so I stopped into this unique cafe for a cup as it was close by. Whether you're looking for a quality roasted java or avocado toast - this place seems to have it all. I also really enjoyed the addition of the birch trees whose color scheme matched the overall pallet. The service here was also something to be noted. One customer had ordered avocado toast on normal bread, but they had failed to mention that they wanted gluten free bread. Upon hearing that the customer had made an error, the staff quickly whipped up another on gluten free bread (which looked really tasty). The lattes here are the best. I thought I had found my favorite place but this def took 1st place! I ordered a vanilla latte even though it wasn't on the menu they still make them. It was sooo creamy and perfect flavor. They're so pretty too! I think the only design they do is a leaf but who am I? I know I can't even do that. If you're looking for a latte this is your place for sure!! I ordered the caprese panini. The service was a little slow but it was so yummy. The bread was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside and the tomato didn't make it soggy. There were huge pieces of melted mozzarella and the tomato and basil was fresh and again not soggy. I took a star off because although there might be a lot of outlets they're all on one side of the cafe. GREAT coffee! Great setting! Weird location for an awesome shop, stuck in the back of a strip mall. But whatever, their quality is superb. I had looked forward to visiting this shop for some time. Finally we ventured to Annapolis from DC and I had a chance. I wasn't going to pass it up! We ordered a latte, a coffee, and some baked goods. The baked goods were just okay--we enjoyed them but I have had better, although I have to comment that their prices weren't bad. The coffee and latte were as good as it gets. The beans tasted so good that I actually purchased some. That's a rarity for me and I am not sure I can provide a higher compliment. It was so good that I could definitely see myself going back in the future, driving out from DC. The shop, itself, is very cute and has ample seating and places to work on laptops. I will comment that people show up in large numbers to work here, probably owing to the superior coffee. The shop also carries a really phenomenal small goods area, including CNC machined holders for individual drip coffees. Some of their prices are really great, too! I will mention that it pains me that others have even mentioned Starbucks and Whole Foods in the same sentence with Pronto. Those are bigbox, faceless places with push-button coffee machines and mass produced beans that are roasted sometimes months in advance of your purchase. The lack of sophistication for a coffee from these places does not even deserve to be mentioned in the same review with Ceremony and Pronto. And just because your cup of coffee looks similar, it is certainly not as good. Get your taste buds with the program. read more

Really 3.5 stars. It's quiet, clean, better than average wifi strength, good teas. My mom goes here frequently and she likes the baked goods. I just pop in every now and again to visit with her. While the West coast remains the best coast for coffee snobbery, buzz heads on the east coast rejoice, Ceremony is proof that the third wave is alive and thriving, at least in Annapolis. You'll be greeted by your normal light woods and bright atmosphere upon walking in and the smell of single origins roasted with care. (Does the smell of multiple single origin coffees yield the equivalence of the aroma of a blend?) They also offer blends, but having made their fall blend on both a Kalita wave and a siphon I decided to forgo and opt for my normal espresso and pour over. Since I had a friend, double that. The espresso was their Destroyer, not the Mass Appeal I had hoped for, but it was a very solid offering. It didn't have a ton of brightness so an average Starbucks goer would be thrilled. As was I, the snobbiest of snobs. In the least creepy way possible we grilled the barista on her technique on the beehouse (the dripper they prefer). They gave some tips no one else has offered in my travels such as adding a gram or two as the coffee ages. The coffee was delicious. We had an Ethiopian and a Kenyan. Both were extremely complex and very different. The Kenyan was almost too bright but the Ethiopian one really started to shine as it cooled. Hands down best coffee I've found north of D.C. and south of NYC. Perfectly roasted beans put through the magic of a La Marzocco yields consistently delicious lattes.
