I went to this store looking for produce to make a caldo. Much to my surprise, there was a pre-packaged "caldo pack" on the line and ready to use. I haven't seen this at any other store and thought it was pretty amazing. Saves me time and is super convenient especially in these times when I want to be in and out of any store. This is a neighborhood-sized grocery store. There are better and bigger Cermak Produce locations in the city, so I don't recommend you to make a point coming here if you don't live in or near Hermosa. Nevertheless, you can still find quality fresh produce regardless. I personally don't suggest shopping there on Tuesday evenings. The new promotion starts on Wednesday, so whatever was left may not be as fresh as what they had at the beginning of the about-to-go-away promo. Yes, I used some retail jargon and I've been conditioned to say that since I manage a retail business at the mall. Whatever I said on the previous paragraph may just be my mere observation. It may not be absolutely true, but it doesn't hurt to share my opinion with all of you since it's what Yelp is supposed to be used for. We purchased a dozen medium eggs ($1.79 since there weren't any large or jumbo eggs left), pears ($0.79/lb; $2.16), green seedless grapes ($0.89/lb; $1.39...great price), tomatoes ($0.79/lb; $1.88), cucumbers (3 for $1), and apples ($0.79/lb; $4.23). Worse customer service in this location. Decided to purchase a cajeta because the sign that had no expiration date said item was $1.99. I paid leave realize that they over charge me went to let one of the cashier's know she then called someone else who said sale is old. I mention that the sign was still up she had to honor the price she went to tell manager this rude man that works behind a box that instead of coming out to speak to us had us go inside this creepy place gave my sister and me a bad attitude didn't want to respect the sign until we had to act like Karen's. We tried to get the item sale for another customer and they denied the sale. In the end after all that he was talking bad about us that all that for two dollars. He doesn't know our struggle. Worse service ever at this store they need better training. In the end still didn't charged me correctly. read more

Very convenient place to buy your fresh produce. The butcher is always friendly and able to help me with whatever custom cuts I need. The fresh baked bread is AMAZING!! Family owned business with the owner always at the store. Can't beat that. read more

This place has some of the freshest produce in the city. Their prices are reasonable to say the least. Their "arrachera" (skirt steak) is probably the most tender around, just make sure you ask for outside skirt steak or "con cuero" as they call it. Also, they offer delivery for orders over $60! Like, you can call and order over the phone and have it delivered to your home at no extra cost. My absolute favorite item is their French bread that's baked in house-this is a must when I'm there. I tried their ordering online for the first time, and it was so convenient for me. I listed exactly what I wanted, including the size and requested fresh fruit and veggies - it was the best experience I've had anywhere. The prices are ridulculous it not worth shopping here I bought deli ham it smelled horrible the worker said that was normal I gave it to front attendant told them that should not be sold to no one there was no manager in site. My favorite Spanish grocery store in this area, hands down. I believe the owners are Greek and they definitely know how to run a business. Typically when I walk into a Spanish food store the first thing to hit me is the stench of the butcher department. The last thing I wanna smell while shopping for fruit is rooting pig flesh and no matter what Spanish market I go to I always hate the smell. NOT this Cermak Produce. This is the cleanest grocery store in the neighborhood with some of the freshest fruits and veggies you will find. Th prices here are a bit higher in comparison to other Spanish Markets in the neighborhood, but the quality of the meat and produce and the cleanliness of this grocery establishment makes the price totally worth it. Very often I go to the butcher department and I see them removing all the meat and sanitizing the display case. I was very pleased to see that because I had never seen it done and it made me feel like the food I was about to purchase and cook will be safe for me to serve my family. I am a BIG FAN of clean establishments and especially when it comes to food its a make or break for me. I will always only shop at this Spanish Grocer as long as I live in the Hermosa or Logan Square neighborhood. read more

I love it! When I come into this store, it's as if everyone knows everyone, which I find quite lovely. I love the produce selection. Even the guys working there would help me select vegetables and fruits. Their meat prices are reasonable and i like how the guys asked me if it was ok if it went over a pound or so. I've gone to other places where i ask for 1 pound and am forced with a different amount. So this was actually a definite good thing for me. Would definitely recommend. read more
