My boyfriend, mom, and 2 aunt's were on our way to Vegas from OC and the AC was blowing out warm air in 104 degree weather we were super uncomfortable to say the least, and didn't want to drive the rest of Vegas & back without it. We called AutoZone& they referred us to "Johnny" at Certified. As soon as we got there, John greeted us. I told him about our situation & even though he was already busy he agreed to help us. It took about 45 min to run a diagnostic& check for leaks. Luckily, there were no leaks and he refilled the coolant. He let us sit inside so we could cool down while he worked on the car. While traveling to Northern California our truck would not start or do anything. We were recommended to John at Certified Auto for electrical problems! The truck was towed to Certified Auto at 7:30 in the morning, they did not open until 9am. I was waiting to call at 9am, but John called me way before that and already told me what the problem was!!! He was very busy, but made time to get our truck fixed and get us back on the road! John and Certified Auto were our angels on that trip! Took my 2008 Jeep Wrangler to this place thinking a simple fix was all i needed to pass smog. Knowing better but not speaking up cost me $3000 in repairs that have failed. Not only did I agree to the unnecessary work (if you can even call it work) that was done to my Jeep I did so knowing donething wasnt right with this place. Only because a dear relative put the cost on ber credit card as I needed to bd able to get on the Marine Base where I work..and without it passing smog ..no registration..no getting to work...anyways it has been a while since they did this work and at the present time Jeep is a mess..the track bar..the $1300 new cat conv ....the bushings..balljoints..even the steering stablizer shock has failed.. all that $$ gor the engine light to come back with codes PO300 and 301 which im sure relate to the "new" cat conv.... the death wobble ..runs horrible ..etc. Why i didnt take it back to his place when all this shit started happening is because I figured It was my fault not speaking up when i was taken for a ride and ripped off..should have listened to my Dad when he said.."Never take a vehicle to a smog shop for major repairs"..but no I did it anyways and paid a hefty price for nothing! Also..i could not believe how much they charged me for parts when I checked Rock Autos website...totally taken advantage of i think! My Jeep was actually running fine except for the engine light coming on..probably needed only a damn sensor or two..Hard lesson learned for sure. I hope to find a credible mechanic to fix the mess Cetified Auto has made. Should have taken it to Mikes Auto like I had planned. Heed my warning and really look into Certified Autos credibility when taking your vehicle there and if you do only take it for smog check..not major repairs..you could end up in my situation. read more

I started coming out here about 8 months ago and now I won't go anywhere else! I drive all the way from Fort Irwin to come here because I feel that they are really honest and take care of me like a customer should be treated! When my dad was in town, the steel belt was coming out of his tire so I brought him here. Sal (at the front desk) didn't have the size tire in stock and he called around and couldn't find one in town so he found one in Victorville which is another 45 min away. So Sal took the spare off of my dad's truck and installed it onto the truck free of cost. It was about 100 degrees outside and still got out there to help us out. Sal takes care of my car care needs and doesn't sell me services that I don't need like most car repair shops. Certified Auto had my business and I recommended anyone who is looking for a honest car repair shop!! read more

Honest auto repair at it's best. While traveling back from Las Vegas back to LA, our car overheated and we found this shop (someone (a local) at the diner we went into was having their car repaired here). They looked at our car for a bit and ran some diagnostic tests only to find that the radiator cap was leaking. They COULD have charged us a fortune for something else, but didn't. I never write reviews, but thought that one good deed deserves another!!! Check them out if u need something. The owner was even pulling for us that it was something easily repaired instead of a blown head gasket ($$$$). The guys at the Napa auto part across the street also gave them the thumbs up. Nothing is worse than a crooked repair shop, these guys get 2 thumbs up and 5 stars!!!! read more

Driving from Las Vegas to Temecula,Ca we noticed a funny smell coming from the car...like firewood. We ended up pulling over about 30 mins outside of Barstow and noticed something hanging from the bottom of the car and smoke POURING out with a red ember glowing brightly. We searched yelp for a near by mechanic and found Certified Auto Repair. We explained to the gentleman what our situation was and he pulled it right in and lifted my car up to examine underneath. Long story short, a piece of 2x4 was lodged under my exhaust and had been smoldering all the way from vegas. They were so helpful and friendly!! Definitely would recommend them. These guys here are fantastic! My car broke down on the way to Burbank and I had to purchase a new alternator. I called around to places and luckily got these guys. I told the manager what happened and he said that hd would help me out even though they had already closed. Had all the check-engine lights come on west of Barstow on the way to a gig in Vegas, and these guys stopped what they were doing and gave me a quick fix....got all the lights to go off and reset the codes on our Subaru Outback. I'm not sure where to start except by saying the people at the shop are life savers. I was traveling from Las Vegas to Los Banos,Ca and had just turned on the the 58 West when my car started making a very loud noise and shaking to the point I couldn't drive it. I pulled over literally in the middle of nowhere and inspected as much as I could. Checked all the usual and nothing, no leaks, oil was good, no flat tire, no noise from the engine, nada. I had 2 children and my wife in the middle of nowhere and unsure what to do next. It was hitting 4:30pm on a Friday and figured I should try to make it somewhere since I didn't want to be stranded in the desert at night and figured a tow truck would take a while to locate us. Said my prayers and luckily traffic was going slow on the 58 east bound. Barstow was about maybe 30 mins away an we called ahead to the Mojave Chrystler Dodge and spoke to the service department which assure us they would look at the vehicle at least to possibly determine if its something simple or major since it only made noise when the car was in motion. Got there and was turned away by the same person that assured us 30 min. prior to take it in to have it looked at before I left the 58. In fact, I was turned away by 2 other shops that were still open but closing soon. Took my chances with Certified Auto since the garage door was open and sure enough John came out and inspected the car including a test drive, even lifted the car and manually check the suspension, drive line, etc. There were 2 other people at the shop which was closed at this time mind you, since I got to them after 5:30 pm and were all trying to figure out what the problem was. 2 1/2 hrs later I remembered I had taken my car to Big O Tire on S. Rainbow in Las Vegas about 5 days prior for an oil change and tire rotation. So finally as they took the cap of the rim, they discovered the lug nuts on the front driver side had been left loose except for I believe 1 or 2 of the 5. Needless to say I don't even want to imagine what would have happened had the rim broke on the one way roads or down hill curves going to Los Banos. They could have charged me whatever that evening and because they took to time to completely inspect the vehicle and help me and my family I would have paid it. I'm almost 3 hrs a way from Barstow and considering taking my vehicles to them, based on their knowledge as well as service that is unseen now a days...
