certified was quite a find for me as i previously drove to the southside for service and would wait all day for a scheduled repair. the charge always exceeded the earlier estimate and their attitude was simply "it is what it is". it was clear that due to their volume of business, my personal needs were of little importance. certified is everything they wern't. excellent service at a very fair price and now they even offer their customer a rental car when the need arises. i placed my mkz in for ac service this morning and am currently using their loaner. a nice touch ! read more

I would have given this business at least a 4-star rating or higher - until today. What happened is that I had to endure a highly unsatisfactory encounter with Stan - who claims to be the owner of the shop. Quick recap: my car stopped working on Monday and the mechanic fixed it by Tuesday evening. So far, so good. The bill seemed a bit high to me - so I asked to see an itemized breakdown of costs when I showed up to pay. This is when the trouble started. The counter man couldn't or wouldn't show me what I wanted to know - which was how much they had charged me for parts and for labor separately. I've never had so much BS slung at me over such a simple, ordinary inquiry. Stan came out and lectured me for 10 minutes, called me ignorant, claimed he was an honest Christian running an honest business, etc, etc, etc. He still wouldn't tell me how much I was paying for parts. When I wouldn't budge - he told me to just leave. I decided to pay the bill and take up the matter through other channels. As the counter man began to ring up the sale - I called an expert on consumer affairs to get his thoughts. When the guys in the shop overheard parts of my conversation with this guy - they decided to hustle me out of there - no charge for the repair job. Would you like to be treated this way? Is a free repair job worth such embarassment and abuse? I have been a customer at the shop for over a year - with 4 or 5 service visits. I'll never enter their premises again. read more

The guys at this place were nice, but everything is very overpriced. For example, one part i needed was $100, while the labor would have been about $400 (total was $500). I understand costs of labor, but almost $2000 was way too much for something I could do for less than $400 total. For 12 hours of JUST labor (not including cost of the parts) I would have been paying about $130 per hour. What made me write this review is when they were asked to roll the window up because it was down for the moment, they said they couldn't. It was later found out by a different auto repair place that they could have rolled up the window. They just had to cut the wires that were needed to be replaced anyways. They were then asked to put on a piece of plastic over the window. They said they would, but I had to go and tape a trash bag over it later the next night so my car wouldn't get rained in. I paid $130 just for them to take the door panel off and tell me what's wrong with the window. They did do a full inspection of the car but I had not asked them to. (I guess they wanna find more things to fix) The oil change was fairly priced. No need to be rude to these people, again very polite people. Just take your business elsewhere if you don't like the prices. read more

We took our car to Certified for a state inspection because it is convenient to our house. They had the car for over a week and we finally had to go get it and take it elsewhere for an inspection related repair and state inspection. BUT the biggest reason why I will NEVER go back to this shop is "one of the owners", that's how he kept referring to himself when I called to check on the car, he never gave me his name. He immediately got defensive from the beginning of the phone call, he was arrogant, rude and disrespectful. He actually told me "he was doing me a favor", by taking my car in for service. We ended up taking it somewhere else and had the repair and inspection done the day after we picked up the car from Certified. Not the kind of people I care to do business with. They pretend like they did nothing inappropriate when in reality this person was the rudest individual I have ever dealt with in all the years I've been getting my cars serviced. And they don't know how to work on foreign cars like they claim. He told me the light couldn't be repaired, and he had to order a part, then he said it was lost in the mail. When they finally got it, it was the wrong part. In the end the light WAS repaired and the car was inspected within a day by someone else. Use this shop at your own risk. read more

Took our caravan there for RR rattle, As suspected the heat shield in the rear fell down hitting the exhaust. It a 2 piece shield. The larger was rotting and was removed and the tech allegedly re-mounted the smaller shield. read more

Gone here three times now for car service. I am glad I brought them my vehicle after I bought it used online. They were able to look it over to ensure nothing was wrong with it before I decided to keep it. They immediately noticed a oil leak. They worked with me on payment options too! read more

I came here for an inspection and they want to charge me 500 dollars for a seat belt buckle. Ridiculous. I would recommend nobody ever come here. They will rip you off. read more

My family has been using Certified Auto for years. Wouldn't take our vehicles anywhere else. They are transparent, honest and reliable.

My daughter took her car for a state inspection that took 3 days. She had an appointment for Tuesday; her car was not ready until Thursday after she called to tell them she was picking it up then they decided to inspect it and said it needed a new muffler. They quoted a new muffler install charge that she had done elsewhere for HALF the cost. When she took the car back for re-inspection, the first time, the mechanics had left and the man at the desk said come back it is a quick check. The second time I tried to get a re-inspection the mechanics were at lunch. I stated that I will be back in 30 mins. When I returned for the third visit which was suppose to be a quick check to look at the muffler. The quick check took over an hour. I do not recommend this shop. Over priced and just plain slack. read more

I went there in May 2020 because my 2014 Kia Forte was shutting off when I stopped at the light and would barely start back up. I went to the Kia dealership and the problem was not correctly diagnosed. Lucky for me I come from a family of mechanics who are unfortunately 700 miles away and told me to walk out that is not right. I come to Certified Auto and the staff is friendly and nice. The mechanic is knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem correctly and replaced the sensor. I have had no problems to this day, so the mechanic gets a 5 star review. However, I feel the repair was overpriced. I paid $105 for a check engine scan and $476.03. I had to get the car repaired so I had no choice and paid the money that I did not have during this pandemic. They do a good job but they are overpriced. read more

Can not believe such a business really exists still today. Fixed my car for $90.00 after it had been to 3 dealerships and over $3500 dollars in repair.
