The best shopping experience would be for people who already know what they want/know enough about plants to know what to pick. The Hispanic workers are wonderful and knowledgeable and very nice, willing to lend a hand or answer questions. Negatives: No individual pricing. They give you the general but "and up" can be anywhere between $6 and $2000, so it's a hit or miss sometimes. Sometimes there are "special" items - ex. Even if the green square pot says $1.50, some items will be $3.50. There's no way to know that until you get to the counter. read more

They do seeding and I can see how big their green houses were. Many buyers so I'd to pick the right time to go to avoid crowd Columbines and breeding hearts are the plants I plan to buy there. This facility is huge. I've driven by this facility many times, but today I decided to stop by. My mom she is an avid planter. She loves doing yardwork that's just her therapy. We have been looking for a good Carnation plant. It's really hard to find them especially a natural organic one. I just had to make a stop here today, and it was bit confusing since I don't have much knowledge and plants, however I was able to get my questions answered. This facility only carries flowers and vegetables. I walked around and end up with few carnations and gardenia. Definitely will return to this facility. read more

Our go-to nursery. We would drive all the way from Costa Mesa to buy our plants from CPG. They have a great variety of plants for our garden. Still a great selection of plants. However, service is non-existent and areas are not marked. Also very upsetting that they do not update their site to reflect hours/days that they are open. They are difficult to reach via phone. I drove from Boyle Heights just to find out they were closed courtesy of a tiny sign that's difficult to read from the road. I'm glad to have found this place from YouTube! I was in LA dropping kids off at LAX and no where sleds was open so early in the morning. It was super easy drive from the airport and easy to find, near all sorts of retail stores. Everyone was real nice, but don't expect them to come find you as sales people would. They're around to answer questions though and super friendly. Tips: Park anywhere that's is common sense, no "parking lots". Grab a flat bed card to carry your haul. Look around first, or get an availability list so you aren't pulling the cart everywhere. Look the plants over, I made a rookie mistake and got taken away with how pretty the mix-master pot was but should picked one less root bound. Bring your own plastic or sheeting for plants to ride in your car. Take a picture of pricing diagram so you have it in your phone and take advantage of the deals that go with buying multiples. I started going to this nursery because of John Kohler. I use to visit this nursery once or twice a month to pick up trays of strawberries, veggies and flowers. The last time I was there was about a year ago and I would never go back there again because of the disrespect I received from Mike. I always pay in cash when I'm at that nursery but the last time I was there, I didn't have a lot of cash on me. I had just enough for the few chili plants that I had planned on purchasing. But when I got there, I saw some other plants that I wanted. So I went on Yelp to see if they take credit cards, and saw that they offer military discount. So I asked the lady cashier about it and she said she was not aware that they do. I told her never mind. However, she insisted on finding out for me so using her walkie talkie, she radioed Mike, whom in the past has been very helpful and I came to like him a lot. However, Mike's response was, "Military discount? Them coming here is a discount! They should be thankful that we offer the lowest prices around here." He went on to tell her that "they" can't find lower prices anywhere else around there. The cashier had this awkward and embarrassed look on her face because I obviously heard everything Mike had said, loud and clear. I told her, a simple "no" would suffice and for them to remove "military discount" from Yelp if they are not going to honor it. Well, almost a year later and it still shows military discount. Note: I don't have a problem paying regular price for my purchases, as I have been a regular customer for over 3 years. It's nice to get a discount when one is available. But, I didn't deserve that disrespect. I wasn't giving anyone a hard time. read more

Not sure what people are raving about, the selection is average, mostly flowers landscapers put in schools and malls, which are the cheap kind, like marigolds, the price raised by a lot, a whole tray of flowers can run from 35 to 45 bucks, and not counting the tax on top, the quality left to be desired, flowers were burned and browning, I would rather go to local nurseries where they do not charge tax when you pay cash, I can see landscapers that replenish businesses and malls purchase their goods here, for the quantity, but if you are looking for your home garden, not so much... read more

I had called a day before and the young lady mentioned that they had plenty of blueberries, and one variety I I had been looking for specifically. When I stopped by she pointed me in the direction but many of the plants were not labeled. They all seemed to be of the same variety, and the ones that were labeled looked the same too. I have 8-10 varieties of blueberries and I know that they don't look the same. I left empty handed not wanting to buy something that I was uncertain about. I had to give one star because you can give 0 stars. I should have looked at the rating before I even called. Mark /Marc the owner owner is just as ambiguous as the spelling of his name . I left some very expensive seeds there which he agreed to grow after he sent me a contact to fill out.. A couple of day go by and he then tells me that he doesn't fill comfortable growing my seeds...which is really no problem but he never called to tell me that information. He then has the nerves to say I am calling toomuch when his stupid ass never called to tell me this important information. Are you certified plant growera.....? I love this nursery. They have a huge selection of flowers and plants. They are much cheaper than Home Depot, Lowe's or Armstrong Garden Center. I stopped here when they had just closed and gentleman was nice enough to sell me some soil and load it on to my truck even though they were already closed. Returned the next day for flowers for my new flower bed, and left super happy and satisfied with my purchase. The only problem they are closed on the weekends. read more

Love this nursery. You'll recognize their plant label at many local nurseries but the price compared to OC nurseries is about 60 percent less. You will not be tended to like at a regular retail nursery, but for thr savings, its well worth just doing your research at home. I'm traveling around downtown today and the flower district for Oh and they are wholesale and I was able to get help there very helpful. I currently moved to Norwalk so I popped in this place... I thought it would be easier to buy locally in bulk then to travel home from downtown l.a!? Asked the first person I saw a question and vaguely responded...so I wanted to know how much these particular plants were...well he didn't want to be bothered so I asked for a manager or owner? I saw this place reviewed on a YouTube video and came by to check it out. Here is my thoughts on the place. I knew from the YouTube video that this place was a Wholesale nursery and I came here with that mindset. As business owner that buys wholesale from dozens of other places and merchandise I knew what to expect and I think that the previous reviews are unfair and unfamiliar to that kind of business. Here is my suggestions.. 1.) Do your homework! On their site they have the varieties and availability of plants they carry. Print that sheet out and bring it with you 2.) Come early for best selection and be prepared to walk around ALONE with the list you printed an plant cart that you'll grab near the Payment Office by the large blue dumpsters were they park them. If you don't see one ASK for one. 3.) Grab some Plastic Flats to put your selections from anywhere you see some empty ones stacked up. Most of the plants have a tray already under them because they have been setup as flats because remember you're at a Wholesale Nursery. 4.) Have fun! You are now free to move about and select from any plants you see to your hearts desire! Don't be afraid to walk into the greenhouses or into the shaded areas as the whole nursery is now available to you. DO be aware that big nursery trucks will be coming and going and there is equipment, tools, materials, and sometimes dead piles of plants waiting to be disposed of just laying around. In the end you'll be a happy customer when they ring you up an you're saving tons of money because you took the time to cut out the middle man. Great value to buy plants. I always go here first. Customer service could be a little better but at least they sell to the public.

Vegetables are a good buy for a flat. It can be mix and match the same size and color container. But they sell there own potting soil in clear plastic bags at $5 per bag. At 1.5 cq ft. I check. But be warm it's reclye from used pottings. It will have plastic tags in it. read more
