We had had three other companies visit and he stood out for his professionalism and knowledge - he was the only person who a) observed that our house was built in 1937 and b) explained its long and likely history of poor roof choices, which led to c) his plan for a new system that would help the old girl finally breathe as she was originally designed to do. We wound up putting off the project due to the pandemic, so had a lot of time to consider our options. We decided that along with Klam's quality came peace of mind, and so secured them this winter. The team came out and finished in two days; were awesome and frankly we are still shocked by how clean the site was after they left; they did a great job of clean-up! Also have to say we so appreciated Katie in the office; she is highly communicative and we had a clear idea of schedule thanks to her. PS, this alone is another plus for Klam; two of the other companies we'd looked at went totally silent after their visit and one became super pushy. Total professionals here. Which brings me to another key point - Klam was one of only two contractors (of the four we interviewed) who were honest about the condition and cost. Now, we knew going into it that we had FOUR layers of roof up there - literally decades of previous owners doing their own DYI patchwork fixes. Really interesting/disturbing to observe that two companies told us there were only two layers, and casually mentioned "more" would be charged "if" they discovered extra. Klam was the only company who said straight up, "There are four layers, and here is what it will cost." We of course opted for their clear, no surprises estimate. We feel a million times better for having gone with this high-quality group of professionals (who are also just very nice people). Thank you, Klam Construction, you guys rock!

We went with Klam and they were able to get us on their schedule more quickly than we expected. The crew arrived on time and were all very nice. They kept the job site clean each day and spent a lot of time after they finished making sure they had picked everything up from the yard. Abel and Jairo came by again at the end to make sure we were happy, which we are. Absolutely recommend them.

Juan was the first to respond, the first to visit the site and the first to quote. He quoted a price for asphalt shingles and offered an alternative to asphalt shingles which was aluminum shingles. After receiving other quotes I chose Country Roads Exteriors and the aluminum shingles they suggested. The resulting roof is highly attractive, offers benefits of a lifetime warranty, low maintenance, better high wind resistance and greater fire resistance. Communications during the process were excellent. The process of installing the roof went very well. The promised schedule was met. The workmanship was first rate. The cleanup was complete. He was able to find the issue within 10 minutes and sealed off the area in 20 min. He found there were other areas on our roof that could use some preventative care. He later supplied a reasonable quote and offered to come back the following morning. We had other options but knew we would go with him. The job was finished the next day in about an hr. Leak is gone, and roof is further reinforced. The weather this week in particular has been a cold, windy, and wet one. There was even a light dusting of snow the night before Victor came to work on our roof. We appreciated his proactiveness, and friendly demeanor in our situation. I'd recommend him to any of my neighbors who may have similar issues.

I'm not sure how this company has 5 star reviews as my experience with J&J Roofing was terrible…read more February 2026, we discovered significant mold in our attic space. Our roof was brand new when we bought it (2019) and to discover ventilation issues inside our attic was a surprise no-one wants. We reached out to multiple roofing companies and we selected J&J Roofing because they promised everything the other companies offered but for about 15% less... or so they claimed. We needed to have an entire reroof which included one layer of plywood to be removed, this is the layer that had the mold. On the quote they said it would cost more IF there were two layers but it was obvious there was only one. Plus the other 4 companies that quoted us said there was only one layer. Also, they almost left the entire layer of molded plywood on. Thankfully my husband was home to catch this serious error which defeated the whole point of why we were reroofing our house in the first place. Then to add insult they tried to charge us at the end for 2 layers. We had to dispute this and they tried to make it seem like they were doing us a favor. Ironically, another roofing company that had quoted us included photos and video which proofed we only had one layer. The quote presented was DECEIVING as when we got the actual bill (after the work was done) it was significantly more than the quote. On some line items it had the tax included, however, they made it seem taxes were included in the quote only to find out that was not that case. This is how they make it seem that they're less than competitors. Here is where the real problems begin. Day of demo the team arrives and are extremely quick about tearing our roof off. However their speed caused A LOT OF DAMAGE. When they tore off the fascia it ripped the underside of the exterior under hangs. See pics. In addition they left significant gaps from the fascia they replaced which is an invitation for bugs and small animals to get inside. An issue we didn't have before. On demo day I watched them cause this damage and although we were told we would have a project manager onsite during the reroof this was not true. The PM was 90% of the time NOT on site. In addition when he came and had the fascia boards they were a cream color. They were supposed to be white. To my face this man lied to me and said they don't come in white. I rushed and got my paint sprayer while my husband ran and got white exterior paint. We quickly got the fascia boards painted and thankfully it was a clear sunny day so it was dried in time for the crew to put up. We also noticed when the roof was off that some of the boards framing our roof were rotted. I asked a crew member as the PM wasn't there if they were going to replace them and they told me yes. Another lie. As they started putting the plywood on, my husband and I noticed the rotted wood was still there and that they "sister-boarded" a new piece of cut wood. I had to call the manager Courtney to come as at this point, my confidence in the crew was gone. They left broken screens and a bunch of nails and screws all around our property. In addition to garbage from the roof packaging. Lastly the PM never came when the work was done to identify areas that needed to be fixed. See pics. We had to call J&J to get someone out and look at all the poor workmanship their crew left. Then they tried to make it seem like it was like that before but it was obvious the damage was caused by their crew. I regret choosing J&J and do not recommend.

With the $1,000 savings we were able to get the upgraded roof option that received fantastic reviews online. Working with Courtney at the office to get us scheduled was a breeze. She asked what color roof we wanted, and since it was difficult to make that decision just by looking a photos, Brandon came back out with a couple of color samples that day so we could see what they looked like up against our house. The J&J crew came out the following Friday morning and completed our roof in ONE DAY. Granted, our roof was probably more simplistic than some others, but we were blown away by how quickly they completed it, and they did a fantastic job. Our new roof looks wonderful! Before they started working, they covered everything that was close to the roof, and they cleaned up impeccably before they left. I was thrilled to have found a woman-owned roofing company that had such fabulous reviews on Yelp, and I'm happy to add one more. I highly recommend J&J Roofing if you need a roof replacement.

The staff on site and on the phone were always very helpful and patient with any questions that we had. Update since my original review. I discovered today that they never pulled a permit as required by…read morelaw in Deschutes County prior to tearing off an replacing my roof. Every inspector I have at my home identifies more and more issues including points of failure. I was advised my Bliss roof is not up to code and has structural issues. Filing complaint with the contractor's board. Also, they fail to provide the documentation that was shown at time of signing. They legit lack integrity and the customer service when you have issues or their install goes wrong is non-existent. I've tried giving them opportunities to fix the issues but they feel I should live with the issues unless the roof leaks come winter. Not only filing complaints, but have met with an attorney. Apparently, I am not the first person to have a problem with their Bliss Roof. Beware
