If I could give this class zero stars, I would. I took Tina's class a couple of months ago I live far away, so I was driving back and forth at night just to attend To the night clasd. Tina constantly pressured me to join her "internship," even after I made it clear multiple times that I wasn't interested. I had already heard it was a scam, so my answer was no from the start. Despite that, she kept calling and blowing up my phone even outside of class. She was scaring me. After I refused several times, her attitude toward me completely changed. She became rude and aggressive. I honestly wish I had recorded it. She also tried to talk badly about another student to "bond" with me, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. I didn't engage. SHE DID NOT LIKE THAT I DID NOT ENGAGe. At the end, she told me to come pick up my certificate, mind you I lived hours away, I drove all the way there, only to find out she didn't even have it. Total waste of time. She said she would mail it she never did. Tina is extremely unprofessional and disorganized. She was often late, canceled classes frequently, and provided little to no real value. I paid $3,000 for this course and learned nothing. It didn't lead to a job or any real opportunity. She rushed me into paying quickly through Apple Pay, claiming it was a "deal" and that the price would go up to $5,000 if I didn't act fast. That pressure alone should've been a red flag. Tina had my review removed so here it is again. After I left my review on the Google business of Certify Central Valley, the business magically disappeared the next day, thus hiding all the other bad reviews calling her out on scamming students. So I'm writing my review here. Negative stars, do not sign up with Certify Central Valley for Sterile Processing or any other courses Tina offers. The owner Tina Toma Melendrez is a scammer and liar. She charges students whatever amount she can get, some more some less while saying she is giving you the best discount or a great deal. (It's not) I signed up for a Sterile Processing course with Tina before all the bad reviews started to appear and had already paid her. Tina's course is not even accredited. Tina was late to almost every class and had constant cancellations even though she lives a fews blocks around the corner. There is a reason why when signing up for this course that she asks students to transfer her the money instead of her as a business charging the student as a transaction. When you transfer money to someone, you cannot dispute the transaction and she knows this. She never wanted to communicate via text or email regarding the terms of the course or externships because she doesn't want a written record of what she promises or says to students. She always said "call me, call me, call me" Many previous students left bad reviews about being scammed by paying $1,500 for an externship that was nonexistent. She will not refund you because it is all a scam and there is no externship. Tina offered many students, myself included an externship if you paid her $1,500. This is all a lie, there is no externship and she will make up excuse after excuse as to why it is being pushed back or things "being out of her control" She just wants your money. Many students have and are suing her for the externship and have successfully won. The course that Tina taught, powerpoint presentation of slides that she showed was just basically her notes from the textbook from when she took the course many many years ago. You are better off buying the textbook yourself and self studying for the board exam or going to an accredited institution. What Tina taught in the whole course only covered 1/3 of what was on the board exam. At the end of the course she offers a resume building workshop that only consisted of her telling students to "use chatGPT to write your whole resume" she would tell students what keywords or phrases to type into chatGPT to build your resume. Tina told students to lie on their resumes saying we had hands on experience from her course knowing damn well all we did was pass around some instruments. This lady Tina Toma... where do I start.. well, she scammed me out of $1200 and still tried to get more. I purchased this class for my son to do online. Before payment, I felt like she was harassing me, she constantly called or texted me to call her. I was very leary, but she was consistent and promised to get my son through the class.. I went ahead and paid.. she promised so many things, and never kept good on any of it.. I would like to sue her for my money back.. There probably should be a class action. read more

I took this class in February of 2025. I did weekend classes due to my work schedule. It was a pretty good class and I did learn quite a lot. It was a little unorganized due to being canceled or late quite a lot but other than that no complaints. Tina was a very nice person and this isn't anything against her. Personally if I could go back I wouldn't have taken the class. I did pass my test but it is nearly impossible to find a job with no experience in this field.. unfortunately. I feel like it's misleading because she does say we have an advantage getting certified through CBSPD vs HSPA because we don't need the 400 hours of hands on experience to complete our certification, But I would disagree. You CANT find a job without experience. I've applied several places and they won't even consider the application because again, NO EXPERIENCE. Unfortunately I feel like I wasted a lot of money. If you're considering this class I would highly reconsider going to one that offers externship placement. read more

This is an awesome class to take. The instructor is very patient and easy going. I haven't been to school in over 40 years and I took this class and passed .. you get what you put into it !! She went above and beyond for me to understand the class, even stayed late a few times for me ... I highly recommend this class and instructor...and I forgot to mention that she supplies great snacks and coffee.. I truly loved this class !!! If you're looking to become a certified sterile processing technician, Certify Central Valley is a great option to further your education. Tina was my instructor, she was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the entire process. Thanks to her, I was able to pass my certification test on the first try, as well as the majority of her other students. She also helped me set up a professional resume and prepared me for interviews months prior to the class. I decided to take the online course allowing me to complete the course from a remote location. It only took about 8-10 weeks to complete the entire course compared to the average of 4-8 months at other alternatives. It also happened to be fraction of the price. Considering all these factors I doubt you will be able to find a better opportunity! read more

*clearly what "jake s" wrote is a fake review. Trust me i tried extremely hard to get into the field. I volunteered for 6 months just to get a foot in, called every manager on SPD for miles around, called Tina multiple times to make sure my resume was right, applied multiple times to the same hospital. When i volunteered af Memorial, the lady whos been there for over 15 years informed most SP techs are transfers from other positions, and good luck. Jake your either not real or got handed a job bud. I learned a lot but felt like i was totally misled. Their flyer says high-demand jobs for sterile techs. Yet hardly any positions ever opened through an entire year after i graduated and got certified from this program. I applied to the ones that were open, called managers, emailed, volunteered at a hospital. NOT ONE call for a single interview for Sterile processing technician, they only want people with experience. I kept in touch with two other students from the class I was in...neither of them have had a single call for a interview as well. It doesnt help 10++ people are graduating from this program every 3 months. Basically setting majority of us up for failure. I called, texted teacher/owner of the program...not much help. I would highly recommend this course. With Tina's knowledge and expertise she helped me pass my certification with ease. After I got certified it took me 3 to 4 months to get a job in the field, you just have to put in time and effort to find the right hospital. I've been an SPD tech at a local Health care facility in town for a few years, didn't need externship or the experience to work there because all hospitals are different and they train their new hires differently. I'm so grateful for the help and the guidance that was given to me and the knowledge gained from certify central valley. read more

I took this course in 2016 night classes because I was a full-time employee at the warehouse in the morning at that time! That was One of the best decision I ever made I'm thankful that I did it and enter the field I want and love! The instructor is hands-down the best she is so helpful, She help us and guide us to be ready to take the certification exam! Now am in sterile processing department for 5 years and I got promoted last year to be a lead!! Five star is not enough for certify Central Valley! Thank you for everything read more

I wouldn't recommend this course, unless you have an in at a Hospital I The Sterile Processing dept. I actually work for a company that owns local hospitals and can not get an interview, due to they want experience! I have 20 years medical background. Even then it's seeming impossible to get hired without having at least an externship, which is not offered. Out of 5 of my classmates NONE of us have barely had interviews or gotten a job. We were all certified 11/6/17. Had I known, I would have went to the school in Stockton that offers an externship. read more

I am so grateful for this course being offered in Modesto! My instructor was amazing! Before enrolling I did my research on which school to attend and spoke to different people and at the end of the day I decided to enroll here! Thank God I did! A friend of mine took the course in Stockton and was horrified! Only 2 students passed out of her entire class, where as my whole class passed the CBSPD certification exam THE FIRST TIME. Tina explained so thoroughly in class which made it so easy to understand! I recommend this school to everyone all the time. If it wasn't for Tina and her willingness to educate and genuine self to see others succeed I would not be working right now as a Sterile Processing Tech. Also, I read the other reviews and let me inform everyone who reads this. those people who left those negative reviews must be bitter and expect things handed to them. I found a Sterile Processing Tech 1 job 5 months after I graduated. I did not have an externship.. I applied continously, fixed my resume, and before you know it I got an interview! Whoever wrote that they should've paid more and went to stockton just to have an extern--you probably wouldn't have even passed the CBSPD exam if you went there.. BUT you obviously never read their reviews on yelp.. people have been waiting months and over a year to be placed in extern. (again lack of research)You do not need an externship to find a job!! any sterile program will tell you that (even the school in Stockton told me that and tell people that in the reviews on yelp) if you would have done more research you would know this. This program is offered ONLINE nationally--how is that possible if you NEED an externship after??? How do they put their students in externships if the school is based in Florida and the student is in California??? I did my research, went to other places that offer SPDT cert program and am so happy with my decsion to come to Certify Central Valley. I unfortunately have to post a rating to post this review, if I could not put a rating I would. This place does NOT deserve even 1 star.. Please do not waste your money with this place!! I was LIED to by the instructor. I asked her before I decided to go to take her program if there is externship or if I would need externship. She told me that externship is not needed because I will be certified. So I decided to attend her program instead of driving to Stockton to Altamont, which provides extern hours at an extra cost. So here I am, $2000 of my hard earned money wasted. I am a single mother that works 2 jobs & I wasted my money on a LIE!!! Yes I got certified, but the certification is useless because I can not get a job or even a call due to no extern hours. I even have medical experience. Do NOT believe her lies, she is just out to get your money. I might as well fold my certificate into a paper airplane, at least that would go further than I did. BTW, I applied all over as soon as I got certified, from Fresno to Bay to Sac & locally, but nothing. I would get reject notices & emails all stating that I have no extern or clinical hours.. None of my fellow students have gotten a job as a sterile processor due to, yup thats rite, no extern hours. Save your money!! read more
