Went here for a Monday night dinner. This is a great high-end restaurant embedded in the Tivoli hotel. It was not super busy when we went, but reservations may be appropriate. We had mussels and shrimp (Soup) for starters and octapus and cod for the main course. We had a great bottle of Chardonnay with the meal. Our waiter, Pedro, gave us excellent guidance and the appropriate level of attention. Highly recommended. read more

Make reservations! We were staying in the hotel and all the reservations were booked, but we called the Concierge who was able to get us an outside table. For the outside seating, the outside tables has people walking next to you while the inner tables has a plastic sheeting when it rains. My husband thought his fish was fresh and delicious. I had the croquettes (two) and the salt cod cheeks tempura. There were several, and I wasn't able to finish them. The service was fine initially although at the end, we didn't see the waiter for quite a while. Perhaps they got busy inside the restaurant or forgot they still had a table outside, but we got up to go inside to get the check. Fortunately, we got the assistant waiter who apologized. They provide blankets upon request for the outside dining which was nice. read more

This was one of (if not my favorite) places that I was able to enjoy a great meal in Lisbon. I came here on a hunch after reading some positive feedback and it was absolutely 100% worth the effort. The restaurant is located in a lovely hotel by one of the busiest shopping districts in the city and evokes a sense of grandeur the second you walk in. High ceilings, extremely elevated ambiance with tasteful decor and a highly professional staff you'd expect to see in Michelin starred restaurants. You are honestly impressed before you even sit down to eat. They also show you their selection of fresh seafood before seating you and it gives you a great sense of the quality ahead. We tried a variety of dishes but the one that stood out was their excellent shrimp garlic, bisque and their insane fresh and delicious octopus. It was by far one of the best we had in Lisbon which is famous for that kind of dish. The seafood paella was also very delicious and incredibly savory. The light airy foamy dessert we tried was also incredible to the last. If you want to enjoy an amazing experience that delivers on excellent food and ambiance this is definitely the place to go for that. You absolutely can't go wrong. Very nice spot to grab lunch right next to some of the best shopping in Lisbon! They have a great prix fixe menu for lunch where you get either 2 or 3 courses for a great price! We are on an exploratory trip to Portugal and really wanted to immerse ourselves in the local cuisine. This restaurant had great Yelp reviews, so we wanted to try it since it highlighted seafood. The elegant Trivoli hotel is a wonderful setting for this restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, and as we were escorted to our table, she stopped by the fresh display of seafood of the day on ice. That day, they had mussels from the Algarve (briny) and from a river city. Plus, Sole and giant prawns. Once seated, we got water right away, but it took our server a minute to greet us. As is customary in Portuguese restaurants, they ply you with bread, olives, and other treats without really informing you that they are extra. Since I saved my appetite for the delicious seafood, we declined the offering. We started with the garlic shrimp, and I tried the mussel mixture. All was delicious. For the main course, we did the traditional codfish dish and roasted octopus. My octopus was served with turnip greens and mashed sweet potatoes, while my husband's cod came with turnips and roasted potatoes. We ordered a nice bottle of white wine, which was out of stock, but the server suggested a replacement that was delicious and paired well with the meal. We didn't leave for dessert, but they offered a traditional custard tart with a side of confectioners' sugar and cinnamon, which we could add to our liking. It really kicked off the tart, and he threw in two more for good measure. A wonderful way to end the meal. As this was. A short walk to our hotel, we enjoyed the leisurely walk back on a warm, breezy night. I would highly recommend this meal, as it would have cost 2.5x as much in the States. read more

Since I was in Portugal on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, finding a proper place to get food was a challenge that was thankfully met with CL's Christmas brunch buffet. The restaurant had converted itself into a massive buffet that featured all the usual breakfast suspects, along with foods that were uniquely Portuguese! The staff was super nice and friendly, and were quick to ask for drink orders, even before having the chance to sit down! The brunch was all-you-can-eat and cost about 28 euros. read more

After a long two days of travel to get to Lisbon and then a day of touring, we very much wanted to just stay in the hotel for dinner. Sure glad we did. This restaurant was amazing. In our party of four, everyone had a wonderful meal, with such things as lamb chops, gazpacho, risotto and prawns. Everything was excellent and the service top notch. But what stood out was the octopus. First the octopus carpaccio and then the grilled octopus "a Lagareiro" style. Both octopus dishes were flavorful and tender. Cervejaria Liberdade is the main restaurant of the Hotel Tivoli Liberdade. It serves lunch and dinner. The menu is extensive and a version in English is available. A variety of cuisines are available, with seafood the most prominent. I started with a refreshing gaspacho, the Portuguese take on gazpacho soup. I ordered Bacalhau à Brás as my main. The dish is Portuguese style cod with shoestring potatoes. The Bacalhau was very good, but there was certainly a lot of it! (it is served in a covered pot and is a very hearty meal.) The serving staff is very attentive and the surroundings comfortable. I do recommend making a reservation for dinner as the restaurant also receives much walk in traffic from the street. read more

Very nice restaurant in a luxury hotel. Food very good and higher priced than other places in Lisbon as you'd expect in this setting. We had Beef carpaccio to start, John Dory and Pork Steak. Best by far was the pork. Restaurant specializes in lobster and oysters but we get that at home so didn't order it here. Get the grilled pork loin, very tender and exceedingly good flavor. Lobster salad was really good, and the sheep's milk cheese was a nice appetizer. Breakfast in this restaurant is also top notch. We were staying at the Avani Hotel next door, and after walking past the Cervejaria Liberdade inside the Tivoli Hotel every night for 3 nights we decided to check it out for dinner on our last night. It did not disappoint ... Excellent choice! We dig into the food so fast I didn't get even one picture!!! We enjoyed the octopus carpaccio for appetizer, the lobster & avocado salad, and the seafood acerda, a Portuguese specialty. Also our 11yr old son enjoyed the kids menu, including the pumpkin soup, spaghetti bolognese & chocolate mousse. The place was not full, but the atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent!
