This was one of (if not my favorite) places that I was able to enjoy a great meal in Lisbon. I came here on a hunch after reading some positive feedback and it was absolutely 100% worth the effort. The restaurant is located in a lovely hotel by one of the busiest shopping districts in the city and evokes a sense of grandeur the second you walk in. High ceilings, extremely elevated ambiance with tasteful decor and a highly professional staff you'd expect to see in Michelin starred restaurants. You are honestly impressed before you even sit down to eat. They also show you their selection of fresh seafood before seating you and it gives you a great sense of the quality ahead. We tried a variety of dishes but the one that stood out was their excellent shrimp garlic, bisque and their insane fresh and delicious octopus. It was by far one of the best we had in Lisbon which is famous for that kind of dish. The seafood paella was also very delicious and incredibly savory. The light airy foamy dessert we tried was also incredible to the last. If you want to enjoy an amazing experience that delivers on excellent food and ambiance this is definitely the place to go for that. You absolutely can't go wrong. Obviously just expect the price of the food to match what you're going to experience.

Very nice spot to grab lunch right next to some of the best shopping in Lisbon! They have a great prix fixe menu for lunch where you get either 2 or 3 courses for a great price! They also have a great selection of wines as well. The seafood rice was so flavorful, it was delicious! The service was great as well. Everyone was friendly we felt well taken care of!

This restaurant (part of a hotel, as a lot of restaurants in the area tend to be) was breath-takingly extravagant! Since I was in Portugal on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, finding a proper place to get food was a challenge that was thankfully met with CL's Christmas brunch buffet. The restaurant had converted itself into a massive buffet that featured all the usual breakfast suspects, along with foods that were uniquely Portuguese! The staff was super nice and friendly, and were quick to ask for drink orders, even before having the chance to sit down! The brunch was all-you-can-eat and cost about 28 euros.

The service was top notch, I expected nothing more. Great food portions I was full before I finished my plate. Definitely a classy place come as you are but it's always fun to dress to the nines.

Staying at this amazing hotel and saw their sidewalk tables for a first day in Lisbon. Great decision! Service and food were amazing. Took the server's recommendations for some local seafood dishes as was not disappointed. Started with the seafood soup that had a wonderful soft and flavorful broth full of shrimp. Next was the fish rice (pictured) that was full of lobster, mussels, and shrimp. Fantastic find

This is a very nice restaurant at a nice hotel. Food was delicious and service was impeccable. The creamiest, most delicious bacalhau à Brás I had in Portugal and I ate it at every restaurant we went to. For how fancy the restaurant was, I thought the prices were fair. Definitely recommend.

After a long two days of travel to get to Lisbon and then a day of touring, we very much wanted to just stay in the hotel for dinner. Sure glad we did. This restaurant was amazing. In our party of four, everyone had a wonderful meal, with such things as lamb chops, gazpacho, risotto and prawns. Everything was excellent and the service top notch. But what stood out was the octopus. First the octopus carpaccio and then the grilled octopus "a Lagareiro" style. Both octopus dishes were flavorful and tender. Whether staying in the hotel or not, my friends and I can highly recommend this restaurant for a taste of Lisbon.

Cervejaria Liberdade is the main restaurant of the Hotel Tivoli Liberdade. It serves lunch and dinner. The menu is extensive and a version in English is available. A variety of cuisines are available, with seafood the most prominent. I started with a refreshing gaspacho, the Portuguese take on gazpacho soup. I ordered Bacalhau à Brás as my main. The dish is Portuguese style cod with shoestring potatoes. The Bacalhau was very good, but there was certainly a lot of it! (it is served in a covered pot and is a very hearty meal.) The serving staff is very attentive and the surroundings comfortable. I do recommend making a reservation for dinner as the restaurant also receives much walk in traffic from the street.

Delicious fresh seafood. The crab and clams delightful. Very friendly service, and great recommendation on the wine. Recommend for an upscale meal.

Best meal we had on our trip to Lisbon. The seafood is great everywhere, but I felt that all the ingredients and cooking at Cervejaria Liberdade were standout compared to most of the restaurants in town. We had amazing service and we taken care of quite well in English by Pedro. For an upscale and trustworthy local restaurant, this is a perfect spot for a nicer dinner!

Very nice restaurant in a luxury hotel. Food very good and higher priced than other places in Lisbon as you'd expect in this setting. We had Beef carpaccio to start, John Dory and Pork Steak. Best by far was the pork. Restaurant specializes in lobster and oysters but we get that at home so didn't order it here. Local wine list has plenty of offerings as well as a 40 year tawny port to finish. They provided the local cream tarts as a complimentary dessert at the finish.

We had reservations for a party of 2 on a Saturday at 6 PM. When you check in, they give you a slip of paper which has a QR code on it for you to access the menu later, and we were promptly seated upstairs. The menu is conveniently available in several languages (you select your language at the bottom of the main menu page). We were at a long table for 6, with us sitting on the inside and another couple sitting at the end, and the table settings in between us were cleared, so it didn't feel like we were on top of one another. I appreciated that the server gave recommendations that would be good for two people. We went with most of his recommendations (shrimps on garlic sauce (it's labeled as spicy, but it's really not), clams on garlic, tiger prawns grilled on bed of salt) and added some of our own (razor clams and lobster roll). All the seafood tasted fresh, bursting with flavor from the buttery garlic sauce, which we sopped up with garlic bread. The bread is brought to the table when you first get seated. It's not free, which I was aware of, but I knew it would go well with the dishes we ordered. The razor clams were juicy and sweet. The lobster roll was good, but not something I would order again when there's so many other fantastic seafood choices. I usually don't drink beer, but felt that it was appropriate since we were at a cervejaria, so I ordered a bottle of Sagres Bohemia. It went perfectly with the seafood. My SO, who doesn't drink alcohol, got peach iced tea. I wanted to get the prego sandwich for dessert, but my SO was pretty much full at that point, so I ordered a tarte whisky and a cappuccino for myself. The whisky ice cream layer in the tarte was nice and refreshing. I was shocked when we got the bill and it came out to less than 50€. This meal would have cost so much more in the US. You pay via tablet at the end and I left a generous tip in appreciation of the wonderful meal and service. They get you in and out of there quick, but it never felt like we were being rushed out. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for some fresh, delicious seafood in Lisbon.

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

Table seating was by the front and along one wall with the rest at the bar that dominated the middle of the restaurant. Menu was almost the same with a great selection of seafood ranging from tacos, ceviche appetizers to pasta, fish and shellfish entrees with many Asian flavors. The Peruvian ceviche was very nice with thin slices of fish, radish and red onions. The corn nuts added a nice crunch. It also came with a small bowl of toasted crostini chips. The cuttlefish tacos were delicious.. Big chunks of cuttlefish topped with tomatoes and placed on a small tortilla with a white sauce. We actually ordered just one but comped a pair. Sea bass was the best with its crunchy pan fried skin side topped with nori and the moist fish went perfectly with the barley and miso sauce combination. Even the bok choy was cooked well. The squid ink pasta had a mild sauce but scallops were nicely seared. At the end the owner offered us a shot of ginja to try for our first time. It was sweet but at least lower in alcohol,16%. Another great meal and service even two years later. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting some seafood here in Lisbon.

The music selection immediately gave us a taste of home, with lively R&B playing in the background. The bar wasn't crowded, but there were enough guests enjoying food, drinks, and conversation to create a warm, energetic vibe. Our drinks arrived quickly, and the staff remained attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout the evening. The service was honestly the highlight of our visit. The shrimp tacos were very fresh...perhaps a little too fresh for my preference. The shrimp had not been fully deveined, so I ended up cleaning them myself before eating. As someone who only eats deveined shrimp and fish, that was disappointing. The codfish entrée was an interesting experience. The cod itself was delicious and fried to perfection with a crisp exterior and flaky interior. Unfortunately, the wasabi mashed potatoes weren't a good match for my palate and overpowered the dish for me. My partner enjoyed the vegetables that accompanied his meal, but he found the sea bass somewhat underwhelming and not particularly memorable. For two people, including food and drinks, our bill came to about €89, which I felt was a moderate price for Lisbon. While the food experience wasn't the strongest part of our visit, Peixola is still a great place to relax, enjoy a drink, listen to good music, and spend time with friends or a partner. The outstanding staff and inviting atmosphere are what would bring me back, even though the food itself left us wanting a bit more.

They do not have a wide drink list, but we had a bottle of the house wine that was really good and complemented food perfectly. For appetizers, we had bread basket, miss cheese, and the caprese. Get the bread basket if you get either. I had not heard of that cheese but it was great, semi-soft with a nice flavor. The caprese salad was nice also, fresh tomato's and mint as opposed to basil. For the main course, I had the seafood paella that was served in a hot pan right from the stove. This was excellent with rich saffron flavor and a nice mix is seafood--the calamari and mussels were particularly good. I loved it. With the said, my wife's sea bass might have been better. The whole fish was served, nice and fresh. It was cooked and flavored absolutely perfectly. The skin was crisp while the fish was moist and just melted in your mouth. Completely wonderful. It came with potatoes and some steamed vegetables, a superb dish. Definitely worth a visit!
