I walked in and the guy (cook I guess) was on his phone. I had to ask if they were open. The food is good. A bit pricey for what you get. I ordered a taquito plate and it was $14.25 for two taquitos, rice and beans. I ate it there and was never checked on once. After my plate was brought to me, and she asked if there was anything else I would like, I asked for sour cream and was told it was extra. I asked how much, and told $3.80. My wife and I went Alhambra to out this Mexican restaurant called Lupitas Mexican restaurant it been in the same location for many years. The restaurant is close door neighbor to Vittoria Pizza restaurant another good restaurant,we were very curious about Lupitas we know they Mexican food how good is it we went there to try it out. The restaurant is small but very decorated items from Mexico decorated the restaurant. We were looking the menu at the menu display above the counter. We were ready to order my wife order the chicken enchiladas with rice bean and I order the caldo de res or beef stew. The owner offer us chips and salsa the chips were pretty good nice and warm and salsa was pretty good. Then she brought our meal to the table. My wife chicken enchiladas looks very tempting good also my caldo de res or beef stew looks good. The beef stew was amazing good great flavor in the stew there was plenty of meat and vegetables that this meal hearty. The meat was tender little tough but I enjoy my wife enjoy her chicken enchiladas it great flavors in the meal. To be honest, my two co-workers and myself had our hearts set on this little Italian restaurant for lunch, only to find out they are closed on Monday. Great restaurant, but will have to do a review on them in the future. So with our original choice being closed, we didn't want to waste our precious lunch time and drive somewhere else, so we decided to eat at Lupita's, which is located right next door. What a wonderful suprised, the food was really good. Even the chip's and salsa was good. My co-workers ordered the beef flautas, and chicken mole, and I ordered the machaca with egg. Wow, great taste, great flavor, was just like a really good home cooked meal. My co-workers enjoyed their dishes as well, so everybody was happy. Place was a little small, but decorated nicely and clean. Our waitress was awesome, friendly, attentive, and helpful. So no complaints here, nice little find. Will definitely be back. read more

I ordered a carne asada plate and salsa verde burrito... I was disappointed with the carne asada... I got Milanese meat, instead of ranchera. I had seen other photos where they clearly use ranchera and it looked good so I figured why not give it a try... near clearly not cooked on a grill like stove... it was more like fried meat... not reviewing burrito as I did not taste it. The food is slightly over priced... I wouldn't come back, sadly! I was truly craving carne asada with a bit of guacamole.. instead, I got fried Milanese with 1/2 a sliced avocado. My sister and I come here all the time and the food is made quickly, and with love. You can tell that Lina puts love and soul into the food. Chicken burritos..has a few small bones in it. Parking can be horrendous especially at lunch hour. Don't bring a big group with you because this place is very small inside. I'm in love with Lupita's I've lived in the area for DECADES now and I don't know how I've never tried Lupita's. But now that I have I'm absolutely obsessed with it (and a little embarrassed that I've never been here before).
