Had some high hopes for this place. These, "hole in the wall"/ "mom and pop" places usually have good food for good prices. But, alas, it was not the case. Disappointed overall with both the food and the prices. Our family got some breakdfast burritos one morning, and even though the place was empty service was still pretty slow. When we got home to taste our food,it was just okay. Nothing special and in fact they didn't have much flavor and mostly just bland. The place is small but during Covid19 they have implemented standing 6ft apart in line with red tape on the ground. El Patron Tacos Baja is one of those hole-in-the-walls but is strangely not the down-and-dirty kind of taco establishment that you'd normally expected. If anything, their meat tacos and burritos actually feel .. really clean compared to the Taco Trucks. No excess oil (if at all), semi-fresh vegetables, and thinned out salsa with very light flavors -- if anything, I'd say this place is the healthiest-feeling taco place I've ever been to. They're known for their Friday Fish Tacos, and to be honest I think they're OK since their vegetables could be fresher and their salsas leave me wanting a little bit more flavor. It's a toss up whether you want oversalted fish from Baja Cali, or a little lack of seasoning from here; however, it's always easier to add salt than to remove it. read more
