We weren't sure if they were ever going to reopen, but months later it is finally here. You walk up to the counter containing the pastries in order to place your sandwich order and then you get in another line to pay for it. Then you wait for them to call out your name and hope that your name is somewhat close to what you think you gave the person who took your order. I'm still a huge fan of their sandwiches and have come here twice in the last two days since they reopened. I'm also a big fan of the flourless chocolate chip cookie which is now called the low fat chocolate cookie. if you are in a rush you can come in on the left side of the store and grab a pre-made salad and pay for it at a separate register. most of the employees from the mall in the buildings across the street have this as their go to lunch place. You're going to spend somewhere between $8 and $12 for the sandwiches or the signature salads. They say that they are a French restaurant, but they really have a little of something for everyone from the Latin community as well. read more

:: When you want to have the worst of both worlds on one plate : This place has the dubious distinction of providing the worst crepe I've ever had in my life along with the third worst sandwich. Impressive. The crepe was inexplicably tragic. Its contents were far from warm -- cold, rubbery pieces of chicken, slimy mushrooms, unripe tomatoes. They obviously took it off the griddle too soon, as the cheese still sat in tangible shreds, instead of melting. The sandwich bread was hard, unwieldy, and worse yet, there was a lot of it. The bread to contents ratio: 4 to 1. It wasn't very good, but compared to the abysmal crepe, it was relatively edible. Except for when it was STABBING US ON THE ROOF OF OUR MOUTHS. We left with visible gashes. Nasty. Definitely not worth the wound care or the perceived convenience. Next time I want a light bite while at Merrick, I'll hit Nordstrom's cafe, become anorexic, or chew on a finger. read more

I'd brought my car in for a marathon service session over at Tires Plus this past Sunday, and found myself with nothing to do but watch the World Cup on Spanish television in the Tires Plus waiting room. I walked a few blocks over to Merrick Park with quite a few hours to kill. It was about 10:30AM, and nothing in the mall had really opened yet, except for this little place just up the escalator near Nordstrom. I walk in, and big surprise - they've got the World Cup on, again on Spanish television. Between the droning horns and overly excitable Spanish-language announcers, this event is grating on me like nails on a chalkboard. But I don't really care - I've got my Sunday NY Times and time to kill. Plus, there's plenty of outside seating and ceiling fans to cut the heat a little. I ordered a latte, and a bagel & lox. This being located in Merrick Park, I fully expected to pay a premium, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the latte cost less than the equivalent at Starbucks. Indeed, the prices don't seem to be that bad here, across the board. The latte was a little watery, but it did the job. The bagel and lox seemed to take a long time in the panini press, but what came out was tasty - a lightly toasted bagel with ample smoked salmon, cream cheese, and capers. Not bad at all. As a bonus, there was also decent people-watching even at that early hour, as the mall store employees (mostly attractive women, luckily for me) seemed to be heading over there to get a caffeine fix before opening up. This little cafe has so much potential with such a large selection of various sandwiches, salads and drinks. Unfortunately, they failed miserably on my last visit. I ordered a chicken sandwich with pesto, avocado, and mozzarella on ciabatta bread. It seemed pretty fail safe. Boy, was I wrong. The bread was so stale I could barely bite into it. And while the outside of the sandwich was piping hot (so much I couldn't hold it), the inside was refrigerator cold. I was really hungry so I ate half of it but I couldn't finish it. It's pretty disappointing that they don't have some sort of quality control for something as simple as bread. It's unlikely i'll be visiting again. read more

They have an extensive menu with great breakfast burritos and lots of lunch options. The coffee is really good. Lots of outdoor seating. And its always very clean inside. Martin, Amy, and the rest of the staff are friendly. I love this place. read more

A more accurate name for this restaurant is "C'est Ok". "Bon" might be overselling it. We stopped by for a bite during a shopping trip, and so weren't expecting much beyond a quick lunch. However, I was pretty hopeful based on the reviews. It seemed to be popular with the younger Lululemon-wearing crowd which indicated it might be a good healthy option. My wife had the Venetian pannini -- a sandwich with Prosciutto di Parma, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Olives. I had a gyro. Now, I know the natural first reaction might be "you're reviewing a French-themed cafe and you ordered a gyro?" Yep I am. Because they had a variety of mediterranean items on offer on the menu, it is fair game to critique them on it. The Venetian was ok... the prosciutto was not repulsive or anything, but it was definitely generic supermarket deli-cabinet level. The gyro was also acceptable -- but was mall food-court quality. It wasn't a crisped, savory pita, and the meat had a boiled quality to it rather than grilled on the turntable spit that is typically the way to go. The thing is, the prices were not all that cheap. Given the food court quality of the food, it was overpriced. Otherwise I might have been easier on it and it would be a bit higher on the curve. read more

Inside you will leave smelling like food so I suggest getting an outside table, besides it makes you feel like you're somewhere else. The pastries are good but a little overpriced for the flavor. What a letdown. Had to change my order twice. Wanted to order the "Casino" crepe but they didn't have béchamel sauce. No problem, I'll have the "Philly" crepe, they didn't have any meat... We waited 30-45 minutes for a coffee, smoothie, and an empanada. This is not a difficult order. We noticed multiple people who had come in after us were getting their orders before us (and some of these orders were larger orders too). I went in to ask the waitress for an update and she said that she had MANY orders before us in a rude tone (she seemed really stressed, but you still shouldn't speak to a customer like that). I tried to give them a chance, but when I saw another lady come in and get her order only a few minutes after ordering, that was it for me. We went to the counter and asked for a refund. At that point the same waitress that had just told me there were MANY orders ahead, offered to make it immediately... but I shook my head and said I just wanted my refund at this point. Thankfully, the guy that had taken our order was kind when it came to refunding us and apologized for the situation (the star in this review is for you pal). Great for a quick bite! My boyfriend and I LOVE juices and tend to be very picky with them. We are staying in coral gables for vacation and have come to c'est bon for breakfast everyday. We love their juices because they are fresh and cold. The smoothies are also delicious. Our favorite part of the cafe is that you can get something substantial with your drink as well. I love their premade food and their avocado toasts are amazing. The best part of the experience is that the service was quick and the food was quick to finish so we can get started on our day faster. We wish there was one closer to home!! 10/10 recommend for a quick bite. read more

C'est Bon? more like C'est Mal! I decided to order a greek salad and my boyfriend got an empanda and chicken panini. The empanda and the panini were both served cold, when we brought this up to one of the staff members her reply was yes, since when is a panini served cold!! I remember when the paninis at C'est Bon were absolutely amazing, so sad that it has changed for the worst. My salad was terrible, it was not fresh seemed like they just gave me one they put together the day before and topped it off with some chicken. I've come to c'est bon twice after it's reopening and sadly, both times I've found myself a bit disappointed with the food. C'est bon's smoothies and pastries are top quality, delicious! As for their wraps and sandwiches, a bit overpriced compared to the quality and ingredients. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for my daughter and a tuna salad wrap for myself, as well as two lime pastries. This, without getting any drinks, cost me $30. Now, I'd gladly give up $30 for a small meal if I genuinely enjoyed it but unfortunately this wasn't the case. Before, they used to serve a small amount of fries with your meal. This time I went- not even that. I think this used to be a great place to eat, but I think they've let their ego get to them and have stopped putting in the effort. This place does not belong in a sophisticated shopping center like Merrick Park. The quality of food is bad, the service is mediocre and the waiting time was painful. My family and I had creepes that took almost 30 minutes to be served, and when we finally got them they were room Temperature and tasted like raw pasta.
