Open at 9 AM?.. LAME., get up a little earlier, lots of people begin their workday at 7 AM. This is a breakfast place get with the program.

The food is good. The service is good as well. I've been coming here for many years. I am a resident, but it is very surprising. They open at 9 AM when most everyone begins their workday at 7 AM. The least you could do is open at 8 AM. I think it is quite lame to open at 9 AM, most people in the area will have to be sitting in their office or workplace by 9 AM. You're kind of shooting yourself in the foot ,you could make a lot of money opening earlier and better serving your community.

Definitely a cute little place. I got the two fresh eggs (scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, sausage and a baguette). I also added peppers and onions in my eggs. Very delicious! I will say I wish they had diced the vegetables in my eggs and not julienned, but still good. My friend read that their orange juice is very good and she agrees with exuberance. So if you like orange juice, I guess get it?

This café was just a 5-minute walk from my hotel, and what first caught my eye was the beautiful architecture. After learning it's the oldest café in Coral Gables, I knew I had to try it before leaving! I ordered a couple of coffees for my husband and me, and the service was incredibly quick. The woman who took my order was so kind and gave me great recommendations--the Cinnamon Toast Latte and the Leo Latte. Both were delicious! I wish we'd had more time to try the food, but that will have to wait until our next visit. The inside is absolutely gorgeous, and the giant tree in the backyard adds such a cozy, welcoming vibe. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

I just love this place. It's a gem. I've been coming here since my mom was alive. When I came back , they remembered me. Love the food, service and barista are the best. She makes the best coffee. The ambiance is romantic and beautiful

I'm only in Coral Gables for one day and this was on my list of places to go because I saw that it's the oldest coffeehouse in the city so I'm thinking it's 100 years old! Then I found out that it actually opened in 1997, but the building and its historic architecture was built in the 1920's. Quaint and cozy spot, with seating outside in the patio too. They've got an extensive menu with signature salads and gourmet sandwiches, but I wasn't too hungry, I really just wanted to see the place. Then their strawberry pistachio tart caught my eye, it was the perfect snack. I was so impressed at the presentation too. Look how beautiful the plating is. Well worth the trip here!

Came here for lunch. It's a quaint place with indoor and outdoor seating and you order your food at the counter. I went with the Famous Tuna Salad sandwich and soup. The soup was delicious. Perfect balance of flavor. When the tuna sandwich arrived I was a bit disappointed. It looked plain. No mayo, no tomatoes or onions. From the looks of it I could not figure out for the life of me what would make this famous then I took a bite and then understood. The bread had the right crunch and chew. The tuna was absolutely amazing. It was lemony and did not need all the other stuff I was expecting in a tuna salad. It was light and bright. I can't wait to come back for more!

Hidden gem! This spot is so unique and full of history. From the moment you step in, it feels like you're taking a step back in time (in a good way)-- the walls are adorned with old paintings and the ceiling has beautiful chandeliers. There's ample seating (large and small tables) both indoor and outdoor. And the outdoor space is beautiful; with a large oak tree above, it feels like you're in a small European town drinking coffee. I went with a friend for late lunch snack and ended up ordering their 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 soup deal. I loved it! I ordered the broccoli soup of the day along with the turkey panini and was more than satiated. I also ordered some of their freshly squeezed orange juice (delicious). Would definitely recommend and will be coming again! Only bummed that they're not open on Sundays...

Cant miss place for me had an early lunch here in the 1920's era corner building. There is indoor or outdoor seating by a large tree at back, i sat indoors. Had a Demetrio 1/2 ham, cheese, tomato, romaine sandwich on a wheat toast plus a pumpkin soup & chips lunch special in addition to a hot 2% milk hot cappuccino, service was quick, food hot. Plenty of paid parking around on street or garage. Great ambiance as usual.

The food was tasty and filling we ordered two steaks one came undercooked but we didn't say anything and the other was cooked well but both steaks were fairly chewy. The eggs were really goid and the coffee was great. We loved the cortado and the cappuccino. We also enjoyed the French toast bites. Definitely recommend.

I have been going to this cafe for a while and decided to write a review today. First off the parking is near the cafe but it is pay for parking just make sure you pay on your app before stepping into the restaurant. When you walk in you must order first before sitting down and you are given a number to put on your table. I ordered a omelette that comes with a croissant, cappuccino, and Belgian waffle which comes with two so you can def share. Marisol was the server that brought me the food and she was beyond sweet and professional. It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy breakfast in this cafe in the heart of coral gables. The price is reasonable and the tip you pay it when you order your food in advance. I will def come back.

I've been coming to Cafe Demetrio for over a decade since I used to work in the area. The food is consistently good, I usually have a sandwich and I honestly like them all. My go to drink is the Café Demetrio coffee which has a little chocolate drizzle and whipped foam on top. The ambiance is also really chill and they always have jazzy or low key music on. I've come here for several meetings and to work on my computer, and the only suggestion I have is be prepared for the music being a little on the loud side, so if you get distracted by music, bring headphones. The outdoor garden seating area is also really charming. It's a great option if you get cold easily because indoors can be on the chilly side.

Get the signature Cafe Demetrio - you won't regret it!! This buttery and flaky croissant is as good as it looks.

The empanadas were baked to perfection. Crispy on the outside, flavorful, and you can tell they're made fresh that same day. For my main entrée, I ordered the skirt steak, and WOW. Not only was it perfectly seasoned, but you can truly tell they know how to select quality cuts of meat. Our waiter was also incredible and took the time to walk us through the menu, explain the dishes, and make sure we knew exactly what to order. The food was fantastic as always, and the sangria was delicious and tasted genuinely authentic. A special shoutout to our waiter, Eduardo, who was wonderful. He and my dad instantly bonded over being Costa Rican, and it made the experience feel even more welcoming and personal. The only disappointment was dessert. The pavlova sounded much more exciting than it actually was. It was overwhelmingly sweet, and everything on the plate (the vanilla ice cream, vanilla pavlova, and vanilla whipped cream) had nearly the same flavor, color, and texture. It ended up feeling very one-note and lacked the contrast and freshness that makes a great pavlova memorable. Overall, I'll keep coming back again and again. The food is excellent, the service is warm, and it's just as perfect for watching a match as it is for a great meal. Skip the pavlova, but absolutely don't skip this place.

The hostess was very sweet & offered us counter seating, but it was literally right next to the entrance where everyone was standing trying to get out of the hot sun. Definitely not the birthday brekkie vibe I was after. And the parking situation? Diabolical. If I ever go back, I'm taking a Lyft. Once we got back to the car, I started thinking of somewhere close, delicious & that we could hopefully get into before 10:30, when most Miamians start making their way into the streets & every breakfast spot gets overrun. THREEFOLD CAFE! Hadn't been in a while & it was my dad's first time. We drove the 5min distance, parked in the ample, inexpensive garage & walked over. It was busy, but luckily we were seated right away by the lovely Ali (hey fellow Leo queen!), who got us started with drinks. Then my fave waitress Monica came over with her usual charisma & warmth. We had such a great time sipping their very good red wine sangrias & eating a delicious breakfast, including the absolutely to-die-for Don't Be a Lemon Tart French Toast. I love Chug's diner. Everything about what this restaurant delivers, feels like a hug to me…read more I've been a fan since Chug's 1.0 but this review is specifically for my recent visit where I tried one of their new specialty coffee drinks. The Chug's iced cafe con leche kept a number one spot of my favorite iced coffee in Miami for many years, and I think this weekend their new Coconut Vanilla Latte with cold foam has secured the number one spot in my iced latte roster. I take my iced latte choice seriously, as it is one of my favorite treats. This one was absolutely perfect. So good, in fact, that I ordered two! I also ordered the harina con huevo for breakfast. Now, there is something about harina con huevo that takes me back to childhood and reminds me of my mom, so this dish is pure nostalgia for me and it is delish. You can't really go wrong with Chug's. Since it opened, you won't ever find a breakfast time where it isn't busy. That's because they are doing something write - serving up good food and coffee, and if you're lucky tapping into moments of nostalgia for many of us born and raised Miami kids. I especially loved the croquetas, not a huge fan for the hash but that's a personal thing not liking potatoes that much. I was able to take in a bite of the pancake, which was very fluffy, the syrup was surprisingly not too sweet. I've tried their shaken espresso and a cortadito, both have been great. Strong, not too sweet, perfect for a humid summer day. I think that's the biggest surprise for me, I thought Cuban sweets would be much sweeter. My group has also raved about the breakfast sandwich and harino con huevo (especially if you're vegetarian).

Ambiance outside and inside were just the best. I never visited the restrooms, but according to some in my party, they were beautiful and clean. My (and my party) only complaint was that there should be a control of barking dogs or even dogs inside the restaurant. Someone from your restaurant should have said something to them. We were outside with a group of 6 adults, Only to hear for about 40 minutes the bark, bark, barking of a dog. Dog and Owner were just behind us and owners kept saying to the "shut up" to the dog several times. Dog kept barking. Very loud, and very annoying. I would say that it was annoying to several other patrons as well, but, of course, no one said a word. If a dog cannot behave, they do not belong there. And, I do love dogs. On another note, the barking of the dog, as well as, the very loud music. Much louder than it should have been - for background music. Our whole party, including 2 teenagers, were not happy. It's pretty disgusting not to hear anyone's conversation - on a Sunday morning. I spoke to the waitress about the music. She said she would "TELL THEM" Inside. Nothing happened.
