This place has been here forever and is tucked away on the corner of the second floor, right above the Nordstrom E-bar. What I like about this cafe is that it's consistent and has a variety of to-go options, hot sandwiches or bowls, pastries, and you can get your juices. During lunch it's a nightmare, especially on the weekends as everyone comes in to dine and there are limited indoor seating, there's more outdoor seating but it can get crowded. The food is decent, nothing too crazy but what kills me are the prices. I know that Miami is overall more expensive but some of the items in my opinion can be pricer. This juice bar and prepared food cafe has an identity crisis, but, wait, it's a positive. They really focus in on bestsellers from both cultures, and some of the offerings are outstanding. For example, the Pistachio cake is very special. It has a layer of the fluffiest white cream, and a layer of very finely ground pistachio in a second layer of cream. The top layer is a very light cake--think of something that's fluffy between a light white cake that's like soft lady finger. It's was special. They also have great (and huge) cookies, baklava, Kibby, pastelists, tirimisu, etc. This place is also a juice and smoothie bar. I usually get the carrot juice and a shot of ginger. Nice little bakery and café in this outdoor mall. They have a very extensive menu of sandwiches, Panini's, salads, juices, and more. There's lots of healthy options to choose from. We opted to try the croissant sandwich without the bacon, so it came with eggs, cheese, avocado, and tomato on a flaky croissant. They were very generous with the cheese, and it tasted pretty good! We also tried the alfajore-- tasted pretty good too, the cookies were really soft and the dulce de leche was generous. Finally we got a fresh squeezed orange juice, which was also quite tasty. I told them I was eating outside on the patio - yet still got I a beautiful plastic (urrrhhhh, the environment people, get with the programme) with my purchase in and NO napkins. The pastries and desserts looked lovely, but BOY OH BOY, the prices! The custard pie I ended up deciding to have I felt warranted more of an expensive price tag, but still 7.50? I wanted an almond croissant to be honest, but this too was 7.50? for ONE! I figured that was way too expensive and to be honest day light robbery, (especially as I had just eaten a whole lunch dinner at Yard house at their happy hour for just over 7 dollars!) The baked goods were really disappointing. The chocolate croissants did not even look appealing. My girls got the chocolate fondant cake and left most of it on their plates; not what they do when they like it. I tried a bite and it lacked flavor and was dry. I am a Coral Gables resident. It is sad to see how employees in this business are so rude to tourists and locals. Nobody speak English in this place and that won't be a problem if they are kind and give you a good customer service. You can be standing in line for 30 minutes waiting for an almond croissant , and don't ask twice for it, because you will treated with such disrespect that you just will want to run out of this place without your food and not coming back ever. It's a mediocre place that only highlights the need to have a proper café at Merrick. One funny part, one of the chairs on our table had guacamole all over, dripping from the side and all. I took it out, left it in the middle of the floor so the staff would see it and maybe clean it. They never did. All of the staff went by it, looked at it, none of them took the trouble to take 20 seconds and clean it. That says more about the place than anything I could say about the food. read more

This small bakery/cafe is a nice little gem located on the second floor of Merrick park. Came here for some coffee and a quick bite to eat. When I walked in there were a few guests there but there was only one person in line. I walked up to the counter where it said "order here" and was kind of ignored. At least three people looked at me and kept on working or whatnot. Oooooooo k. So finally after a good wait I said excuse me? This girl came up and asked if I hadn't been helped. Uh no. So she quickly took the order. Got an espresso, shake, and a shot of ginger. She sorta rushed me through the order. I don't understand why they looked so rush with only three people in the cafe. But ok. They did make my drinks quickly and I have to say everything was spectacular and worth it. The shake I got was out of control good butter love it I think it's called? Full of my favorite: peanut butter. I got a large but could barely drink half. So maybe I should of went for a small. I will return for a wrap or avo toast. A bit of a story time first. I am in the process of having my hearing loss addressed, but as of now my hearing is subpar (yes, I deserve the "Ok Boomer" admonition). In any case, I ordered a caramel frappucino and croissant at C'est Bon, and when the drink came out and the server said a name, I thought he was saying my name, and I accepted the drink. When I took a sip, I realized that it was a fresh pressed juice with ginger (very good by the way), so I took it back in the store, and begged them to let me pay for it because now they were going to have to remake the drink for its rightful customer. They were so nice. They told me not worry about it. It was my fault that this happened, and yet they were so incredibly kind to me, and told me they would remake the drink and bring me out my items and not to worry. I will always remember this compassion that they showed me. As for what I ordered--delicious. The croissant is the real deal: buttery, flaky, and perfect. The frappucino was lovely because it was not too sweet (a problem that plagues the mermaid store frappucinos). C'est Bon is on the second level of Merrick Park, with a patio surrounded by flowering trees where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, pastry or snack. The coffee menu is extensive with both hot and cold coffee creations. I highly highly recommend this cafe, and I will be back for sure. Next time I'll drop a fiver in the tip jar to pay them back for the drink they had to discard because of me. read more
