My boyfriend and I tried the ceviche called Cholo Power, the lomo saltado and the risotto huancaina lomo saltado. To start we had canchas which were nice and warm with a spicy but yummy sauce. The ceviche tasted fresh, the sauce was delicious to the last drop. The lomo saltado was juicy and tasty, the fries were crunchy and they served the rice on the side. My favorite was the risotto huancaina lomo saltado. I would say it's the best risotto I've ever had at a Peruvian restaurant. Our server Fabio was knowledgeable and kind. He made a great recommendation for our main course. Overall I recommend and will be coming back. Food was so good only got one photo. You'll just have to try it (:

We asked which ceviche is their best and she recommended the Ceviche Mixto. It was ready just a few minutes after and we walked over to the beach to enjoy it. She packaged it nicely to make sure nothing spilled. And the crunchy corn was packaged separately so it wouldn't get soggy. Thoughtful! It was super delicious! Nice mix of different fish, it was citrusy, oniony, crunchy from the corn. Everything I wanted in a ceviche. Definitely recommend!

Our family tried a variety of dishes, starting with the Jalea, a fried seafood platter. While the portion was smaller than what you typically find at other Peruvian restaurants, the seafood was fresh. I just wish there had been more calamari, fish, shrimp, and fried yucca. We also ordered the Chicken (Pollo) Chaufa and the Seafood Chaufa. Both dishes came in small portions, and the seafood was only placed on top of the rice. Sadly, they lacked the distinctive Chaufa flavor and tasted a bit bland. The Lomo Saltado beef was tender but similarly lacked seasoning, and the Ají Amarillo was just okay. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and the ambiance felt warm and inviting. It seems the food might have been adjusted to cater to a more traditional or less adventurous palate. Peruvian cuisine is renowned for its rich flavors and Asian influences, and I believe it has the potential to be truly exceptional.

I also loved the presentation of the lomo saltado--especially the little flower, which I thought was a cute touch. I had a mango drink, which was delicious and creamy. You can choose between water or milk, and I opted for water to make it a mango fresca. While waiting for the meal, they served some cancha, which are Peruvian corn nuts--a nice little snack. The restaurant was pretty empty when I arrived, so the food came out quickly. The ambiance and music were pleasant. I hope this place gets more customers because it's definitely a great spot for Peruvian food.

The restaurant is located in a strip on the east side of US1. After we came in, we recognized the location. We'd been here before long ago when it was another restaurant. After looking over the menu, I decided on their shrimp ceviche. They do have a number of lunch specials, but not what I had been craving. My husband thought he'd get their fish and shrimp ceviche, but it turned out the fish was swai/tilapia. Not his favorite. And to get corvina fish instead was an additional $8. So he wound up getting the shrimp ceviche, also. While we waited for our food, we snacked on those Peruvian roasted salted corn kernels. They are addictive. The shrimp ceviche was very good. Lots of shrimp along with large fresh corn kernels, roasted kernels, and red onion slices. All in a citrus marinade. There was also a chunk of sweet potato (yam?). I added some additional squeezes of lime juice as well. For lunch, it was rather an expensive meal, but it was exactly what I needed on that hot almost summer day!

From the outside you'd think twice about a holiday soirée (or a saurez for all you Led Zeppelin fans) being held here. They have a menu full of delightful seafood dishes including tasty ceviches, all made from all fresh ingredients. They served one of the better calamari dishes I've had down here. Everyone agrees this is authentic Peruvian food at its best. The portions are generous. It's a bit pricey, but not for the area. The atmosphere was light and inviting. We were outside in beautiful weather for a majority of the event. The presentations were exceptional for casual food. A confusing environment for us. We had an exceptional time, I'm just not certain we would return on our own. 12/25

We arrived a little before noon and were promptly greeted and offered seating of our choice. The gentleman then came over to take our order. For sure, we wanted the Ceviche Mixto, but I wasn't certain what else we might want to order. The server suggested the grilled octopus as that is his favorite dish. The ceviche was a lovely mixture of fish, octopus, sweet shrimp, and mussels. It was accompanied with a heavenly sauce, thinly sliced red onions, soft Peruvian corn, and soft sweet potato chunks. It was so good that I had to force myself to slow down and savor the dish because I really wanted to devour it! He then brought the octopus out. Three large pieces of tentacles grilled and served on a hot cast iron skillet. It was accompanied by slices of white potato that sizzled on the skillet creating a crispness on the edges. Of course, there was also seasoned Peruvian corn that sizzled alongside the potatoes and protected the delicate octopus from over cooking. The octopus melted in my mouth. It was tender enough to cut with a fork and had amazing flavor. This little unassuming restaurant is worth visiting multiple times! I can't wait to go back and try some other authentic dishes alongside very fresh ceviche!

We visited Mancora for dinner and enjoyed several items. As an appetizer, we started with the Chorros à la Chalaca which are one of my favorites. They came fully loaded with all of the toppings! Would gladly order these again. As entrees, we ordered the classic ceviche, tacos, Seafood tacu tacu, and lomo saltado. Everything was delicious. I was very impressed by the sauce on the Tacu Tacu and will consider ordering that as my entree in the future. The tacos were my entree and I found them to be very well portioned in terms of filling and the flavors were phenomenal, especially with the accompanying sauces. Perhaps the best part of the meal was our dessert - picarones! Our waiter did warn us that they are not exactly like "traditional" Peruvian picarones, but they are so delicious nonetheless. They come out freshly made and warm with plenty of syrup. They also have delicious pisco sours and offer Inca cola! In terms of seating, the restaurant is very large, so there is always space available. The service was very attentive and food came out in a very reasonable timeframe. I look forward to returning to reorder some of our items (like the picarones) as well as to try out other items on the menu! Highly recommend to any Peruvian food lover.
